Happy weekend! It turns out Avara is having a Summer Sale this weekend only so I thought I’d throw up a bonus post featuring a few pretty dresses they recently sent me to share with you. I’ve discovered so many fun, fresh summer dresses from Avara this year, and these are a few of my favorites.

How to Shop Here: To shop the items I feature, just click on the words in the captions of photos, the highlighted words in my text or the images in the shopping widgets I sometimes include. When you shop through my links I potentially earn a commission on your purchases, but at no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting my work here by shopping my links. Items that have been gifted to me by the associated brand are indicated with “c/o”.
The Avara Summer Sale is full of wear-now styles you can enjoy right away. But my source at Avara tells me these prices will go back up on Monday. Only one of the dresses I’m showing is included in the sale, but I’ve created a shopping boutique at the bottom of the post with so many more options that are temporarily marked down. And you’ll find more than dresses in the Summer Sale, too, including one of the pairs of shoes I’m showing.
Pretty Summer Dresses from Avara
The Percy Midi Dress is constructed in 100% cotton and is lined. It features puffed sleeves with an elasticized cuff. The dress comes with a thin same-fabric tie with ruffle details at each end. You could easily swap it out for a different belt if you desired.

I think this is such a cheerful, feminine dress, perfect for a picnic event, church or dining out. Add flesh toned sandals and some jewelry to complete the look. The Percy Midi Dress runs true to size; I’m wearing a medium.

Of the three I’m showing, the Celeste Dress is my favorite. This 100% cotton dress is machine washable and such a nice weight of fabric. The skirt is fully lined, so it doesn’t require a slip. I love the brown braided piping along the skirt hem, sleeve cuffs and collar. Wear it with brown sandals or espadrilles for a pulled together look. The Celeste Dress comes with the braided belt, which features a wooden buckle. It fits true to size; I’m wearing a medium.

This beautiful Francie Dress is included in Avara’s Summer Sale, and the price is sweet. I love the bright blue color and the ricrac detailing on the bodice. Unfortunately I did not notice the admonition on the website to size up when I ordered my dress. It is very fitted in the bodice with a smocked back waistband, so definitely go up one size. I’m wearing a medium and it “fits,” but I’d be more comfortable in a large. The 100% cotton dress is not lined, but is constructed in a dense cotton that is not at all see-through.
As promised I have a shopping boutique below for you filled with my picks from the Avara Summer Sale. To peruse it be sure to use the toggle bar on the side to scroll down and see all of the options. You can go directly to the Avara Summer Sale here, too. Oh, and not everything in my boutique is included in the sale, but most options are.
Thanks so much for stopping in. Have a great weekend!

Blessed for My Day
Responses matter. How do you respond when you see poverty, suffering, injustice or persecution? How do you respond when you are blessed? What is your response to criticism, sound wisdom or godly rebuke? And how did you respond the last time you read God’s Word and felt the pinch of conviction or the push of instruction?
God sees our responses to the world around us notes whether or not those responses reflect His heart or not. And He also notes how we respond to His Word, whether it is delivered directly through the reading of Scripture or through a trusted friend, advisor or mentor. When we respond with a tender heart and humility, the Lord hears and sees and rewards us with grace. But when we respond with pride and arrogance, the Lord stands against that. Just something to think about this weekend.
But to the king of Judah who sent you to inquire of the Lord, thus you will say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord God of Israel regarding the words which you have heard, Because your heart was tender and you humbled yourself before God when you heard His words against this place and against its inhabitants, and because you humbled yourself before Me, tore your clothes and wept before Me, I truly have heard you,’ declares the Lord. ~ 2 Chronicles 34:26-27
Hi Kay, these are three fabulous dresses. I can see why your favourite is the Celeste dress as the brown piping does set it off beautifully but I have to say the colouring of the two blue dresses is so rich and really suits you. I enjoy reading Blessed For My Day each post as it’s always good food for thought. Thank you.
What beautiful dresses! I think the styles are getting prettier and more wearable. Our daughter lives in Ann Arbor and loves to go “upstate” in Michigan – a beautiful area! BFMD is always so true – it is hard to work against our tendency to selfishness and anger, literally not wanting to share “what we’ve worked hard for” with our brothers and sisters, and then we think of Jesus, who kept nothing for himself and gave everything for us and we are humbled.
Some lovely dresses, and while not every style will suit everyone, they encourage us to “up our game.” As for tips regarding sailing: I may sound like an alarmist, but PLEASE wear some sort of personal floatation vest. We’ve all heard the tragic stories about lives lost through this one omission. Your lives are worth far more than an Instagram or Facebook post. ❤️🇨🇦
Oh don’t you worry. I am NO risk taker. Ha! Mrs. Safety here!
I agree with your reader Jane, the blue dresses, especially the Francie, look amazing on you. I have found Avara’s products to be lovely but a bit “much” for my personal aesthetic, but other women, such as yourself, wear them so beautifully. I also agree that by featuring these products, you encourage all of us to “up our game” (in Elizabeth’s words). And so true, God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.
The choices on the company website are lovely. Thanks for exposing me to another option for shopping. As usual, you are an inspiration. Have a wonderful time in Michigan. This is such a wonderful place to be and summer there will be great.
You look am
You look amazing in all the dresses. I hope you bought them!
Kay,
Love these dresses on you. Question on the blue Francie dress. If you would have purchased a size up would the bottom half of the dress be to full?
Thank you.
I don’t think so. The website even suggests sizing up.
