Styling Camel and Blue for Spring

Happy Monday, sweet gal! I hope you had a lovely Easter, despite the strange circumstances we find ourselves in this spring. I’m posting a little late this morning because I truly took off Saturday and Sunday to reflect on the holy day, spend time with my daughter and husband and try to make our weekend as festive as possible. But now I’m excited to share with you one of my favorite color combinations for this spring…camel and blue.

Honestly, this is the last set of photos I have to show you, so James and I are hoping to take pictures this afternoon. So I was beyond grateful when I got up this morning and discovered that these Secret Stretch Casual Utility Slim Pants are marked down 51%. I’m not exaggerating when I say I love these pants. They’re made of a lightweight bi-stretch mostly cotton fabric that I’ll be able to wear easily for three seasons.

And this camel color is so versatile. It’s not so dark that it looks appropriate only for fall. I wore these Secret Stretch Casual Utility Slim Pants in this previous post with a pale pink cotton sweater. The pants are from Chico’s and today they’re giving us up to 50% off already reduced styles. While these pants are not included, Chico’s is also giving us an extra 50% off two or more already reduced items that end in .99 or an extra 40% off one .99 item. So many of their signature styles are included in this additional markdown.

I’m wearing a 1R in the pants, which is my normal size. So I’d say they’re true to size with plenty of stretch for a generous fit. The Secret Stretch Casual Utility Slim Pants also come in equally pretty sage leaf green and new opal off white. In fact, I’ve ordered the sage leaf.

By the way, Chico’s is offering free returns right now, so these are worth a try if you’re in the market for easy-to-wear casual pants that will work for three seasons.

Blue Oxford popover

Now let’s talk about this Oxford blue cotton short-sleeve popover. If you’ve been around much at all this spring, you know I’m crushing big time on these cotton popovers, but this one is such a pretty blue! And it is in fact 100% cotton. So soft and breathable.

I’ve got the short-sleeve popover tucked just in the front, but you could wear it fully tucked or completely out (with slim leg pants). I’m wearing my true size 8, so it’s definitely a generous fit. But it is supposed to be over-sized. You could size down for a less billowy fit.

short-sleeve popover

By the way, of all the cotton popovers I have (and I have several!) this brand is my favorite. It’s from Everlane and it’s back at full-price, but worth every penny. It’s still the most reasonably priced and the quality is far above the others. The side seams of this popover are French seams and then sewn down for a completely flawless interior; you could literally wear this thing wrong-side out!

Styling Camel and Blue for Spring

I anchored this camel and blue spring look with caramel brown leather accents. While my belt, leather tote (similar and on sale) and sandals do not exactly match one another, they’re in the same color family and have a similar warmth to them.

I purchased my sandals at 50% off the sale price during my birthday month, so they’re a bit pricier now. But I do love the pared down look and casual vibe of these leather sandals and Michael Kors is having their Spring Event so they’re 25% off. Still, if you just like the feel of the sandals but want a lower price, you might check out this similar but more economical option.

To add more depth to my camel and blue spring look, I topped it with my Levi’s denim trucker jacket and tied a pretty blue floral print scarf to my handbag. Doesn’t this outfit tie together so nicely? To me it feels super casual but polished and pretty.

I kept my jewelry simple and dainty. My necklace is no longer available, but this “loves me knot” mini necklace would translate beautifully. And my earrings are a sweet find from Target. (Remember how I mentioned in this post to look for dainty jewelry for a more expensive appeal when selecting pieces from places like Target???)

My handbag is no longer available in this moose color, but this Michael Kors hobo is every bit as pretty and is actually the exact same shade as the sandals I’m wearing. Plus, it’s marked down 40%!

I hope you enjoyed today’s fashion post. Maybe you got some inspiration for styling camel and blue this spring and summer. Or maybe you found some pieces you need to cap off your spring and summer wardrobe. Let me know if you have questions about anything I’ve shown here. Blessed for My Day

On this day following resurrection Sunday, let’s remember to live out the hope we have in the risen Savior. Because He is alive and living within us, we have hope. While the world may seem to be a frightening place and our circumstances have been upended, we have hope. We do not need to be anxious or overcome with grief.

And as we live as those with hope, let’s be prepared to share with others the source of that hope. If someone were to ask you today why you have hope during such an anxious time, how would you respond?

But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, 15 but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, 16 having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. ~ 1 Peter 3:14-16

Spread the love
xoxo, Kay

  1. It sounds like y’all have a beautiful weekend and made some special memories! We are thrilled to see the sun shining today after severe weather moved thru overnight. Fortunately, no real damage here, but some parts of GA weren’t so fortunate. I really like your outfit! It’s funny how our minds put certain colors in certain seasons, when they change be worn in other seasons. If I were in need of slacks, I would definitely look into those. Have a great day!

    1. Hi Ginger. Yes we had a lovely weekend. We did have a bad storm go through last night but we don’t have any damage right here anyhow. Praise the Lord. I’m so sorry that some people’s difficulties have been multiplied due to bad weather. Thanks for reading!

  2. Great colors together: crisp and fresh. Very snazzy.
I’m so glad you had a wonderful weekend! We enjoyed our weekend as well. We enjoyed services via the internet. It was all good.

    Suzanne

    1. Thanks for your kind words Suzanne. I’m glad you enjoyed your weekend. Let’s hope we all have a good week, staying hopeful and joyful. ?

  3. I love these colors and I’m amazed at how important a small scarf can be to pulling a look together. This shirt in this color reminds me of the short sleeve shirt they give the waves to wear when they first come into the navy. This type if shirt with our bell bottoms and we were very comfortable in the summer.

  4. I love how you tie a scarf to your handbag for added color! Unfortunately, I never think to do that myself, even though I have a ton of scarves. Of course right now I’m just happy when I can put on a spring top and some jeans to run to the grocery store. ?

    1. Yes, I hardly even go anywhere to take my handbag these days. Ha! But it’s such a simple way to add some color and pull things together. Be sure to give it a try!
