I know many of my readers love the fresh, South Carolina Coast-inspired fashions from Spartina449 as much as I do. So today I’m sharing two ways that I’ve recently styled pieces from the new Spartina449 Botanic Garden collection. Their new collection is full of floral prints in unexpected earthy autumn tones unique to the southeastern coastlands. I was smitten with their Floral Cascade Grey print, so I now have two garments in this moody fabric. Let’s see how I styled them for early fall.

Today’s blog post is not sponsored, but I was gifted the Maryam poplin midi dress (c/o) and the Farrah poplin blouse (c/o) in Floral Cascade Grey. I only share things I truly love and can authentically recommend here at Dressed for My Day. So all opinions shared are always genuine.

The Maryam shirtdress features a softly cinched waistline with a same-fabric belt, an open collar and pockets. The A-line skirt in this stretch poplin is beautifully lined with a soft beige cotton, and the dress fits comfortably true to size. I’m wearing a medium.

I was inspired by the outfit shown on the Spartina449 website to wear my Leila knee high boots in soft buff with the Maryam dress. These boots are so much more comfortable than you might expect from the 2.8″ heel, thanks to the padded footbed. I have them in the wide calf, but they also come in standard calf and extra wide calf. The boots run true to size, come in other neutrals and are also available here and here.

I think the dress pairs beautifully with my birch colored leather crop jacket (c/o) from Quince and my taupe leather crossbody (c/o), also from Quince. The quality of these two leather accessories is stellar. And in true Quince fashion, the prices are much lower than you’ll find elsewhere for the same quality.

Ideally, I think it would be nice to have the dressed hemmed up a couple of inches, but I haven’t decided if I’m ready to make that investment or not. I do think this is a dress that I can wear year-round in different settings, so it just might be worth it. This dress would also style nicely with nude pumps or flats.

I actually wore the above outfit to church yesterday. It felt lovely! But like I said, I’m smitten with this grey-brown and creamy beige print, so I also got the Farrah poplin blouse (c/o) in the same botanical.

Crafted in that same stretch poplin, this button-front blouse features a smoothly fitted empire waistline and button cuffs. You won’t need to tuck this one! I wore it over my Madewell ’90s straight crop jeans in tile white.
With both looks, I accessorized with my 14k gold Arabella diamond chain necklace (c/o), the Spartina449 Batina mother of pearl earrings (c/o) and my Hannah bracelet (c/o).

By the way, these jeans are 22% off, but you can use code LONGWEEKEND to get another 40% off just through end of today (10/14/24). They run large; I wear a size 29. They’re such a nice thickness and so comfortable. (That little ridge in the thigh is my Thigh Society shorts I had been wearing with my dress. Ahem!) The jeans are nicely opaque and very slenderizing.

Because this button-up shirt is left untucked, I think it’s smart to wear a topper that is approximately the same length. My Quince Mongolian cashmere fisherman cropped cardigan fit the bill. And this brown color works perfectly with the colors in the shirt. (While Spartina449 calls this a grey, it actually reads more like a taupe or greyish brown.) The sweater runs true to size; I’m wearing a medium. I also think a pullover sweater could work nicely with it.

I completed this look with my Sam Edelman Loraine loafers. Mine are from last year, but they have the same loafers this year in a similar color. They’re very comfortable, run true to size and are at a nice price point. But I wore this same outfit Friday when I got out and about a bit, and I wore my Ally Forever Flats in Bossy Beige, so you’ll have no trouble pairing shoes with this outfit.

Thanks so much for dropping in today for a little style inspiration. I know many of my readers may live in places where the temperatures will soon get too cold for these styles, but others live in warm climates where you sometimes struggle with how to dress season appropriate but still stay comfortable. I think Spartina449 Botanic Garden collection is perfect for warmer climates, so even if you’re preparing for a getaway this fall or winter to a warm climate, these might spark your imagination.
Let me know if you have any questions. Have a blessed day!

Blessed for My Day
After we accept God’s gracious gift of salvation in Jesus Christ, He begins the process of transforming us into the image of His Son. He is sanctifying us, preparing us for heaven. But changes don’t happen automatically. We must make ourselves available, submit to the leadership of the Holy Spirit within us and obey His instructions. When we do this, in time, we will realize that we are indeed beginning to see things differently and, hopefully, starting to act and speak more like Christ, too.
Romans 12:2 always reminds me to examine what I’m allowing to influence me. Where do I spend my time? What am I listening to and reading? This week my challenge is to spend as much time in God’s Word, meditating on Scripture and listening to His Word taught, as I do hearing or reading things from the world. We take in a lot of information each day. But I want my mind to be renewed, not conformed to the thinking of this world.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. ~ Romans 12:2

I love the dress. I think the length is great. The blouse is lovely too but I think I would have liked it better if it was just a regular blouse. Loved how you styled these today!!
This is such a lovely outfit with the leather jacket! Do you think this light colored jacket and boots would be appropriate year round (in KY)? I’m wondering whether I could wear it with a red outfit at Christmas.
Absolutely! That sounds like a nice combo. 😊
I love Spartina and even though I live in NJ, I find I can wear their “elegant beachy vibe” clothes all year long! Most of their stores are located in the South, so I visit when I am on vacation. There is a lovely Outlet store in Myrtle Beach. I love fall florals!! I actually wore a Boden floral dress and tan tall boots to church yesterday!
You look great. By the way. Those sunglasses are perfect for your face and hair color. Sooo cute.
I appreciate today’s devotional. I pray that I will spend more time in the things of God than in the things of the world.
This is a great dress Kay and you look amazing
What size is your normal for the thigh society shorts?
Wanting to try these out myself
Thank you
I don’t remember and I’m not home. But they fit true to size if you use their size chart.
I LOVE the dress. It fits you perfectly. I’m a fan of Ana Luisa jewelry. The quality is excellent and the price can’t be beat. Mostly, I’ve gotten earrings from the site.
No, no, no, please don’t hem the dress! The longer length gives the illusion of long legs, lending itself to a much more tall, thin look rather than a short, squaty one!!!
Well Kathy that may work for you, but I’m already 5’8″. I don’t look short and squatty in this dress no matter what length it is. And I’d like a little more of the boots to show, just a couple of inches. I’ve discovered after 7 years of blogging here that skirt length is quite an individual taste and definitely something that is also a little different for various frames and heights.
Oh Kay! I’m so sorry. I hope you’ll forgive my poor choice of words. I meant no offense. Short and squatty was not referring to the way you looked. I was definitely thinking of my own preference and not yours. My bad. You’re 100% right that each person’s height and frame help dictate their preferences and and looks. My sincerest apologies.
No need to apologize. I just know that sometimes people forget that I’m already fairly tall.
You sure do look cute in your dress and boots!!
Love that dress. I’m to the conclusion you look great in everything you wear. I used to never wear dresses. I wear a lot more dresses now. Mostly to church. Have a great day!!
I just love your devotional message. I wish I had them all in a book. I would buy it. You look good in the dress outfit.
Another stellar post, Kay! I, too, appreciate this soft, seasonably warm color palette for fall. It’s beautiful and you wear it well! I’m especially loving the buff colored leather jacket and footwear. Great advice!
