I’ve pulled together a few of my favorite Nordstrom Anniversary Sale purchases and created three fall outfits that are sure to have you looking forward to cooler days. Whether you’re shopping the sale now as a Nordstrom cardholder or still adding to your wish list, get ready for some real #NSale 2024 fall outfit inspiration.

The best fall outfits begin with great denim. First I created a little fall outfit inspiration with a pair of ankle length straight leg jeans from NYDJ. These Bailey jeans run a little large, as do most jeans from NYDJ, so size down. I’m wearing my TTS 10, but they’re a little roomy on me. And these will stretch some with wear, too. NYDJ jeans are a really nice choice since they are actually made for the more mature woman. (Psst! NYDJ actually stands for not your daughter’s jeans.)
I topped the Bailey jeans with a Nordstrom brand crewneck cashmere sweater. Mine is from a previous year, but the color is extremely close if not the same as this year’s tan doeskin heather. It runs true to size for a slim fit; I’m wearing a medium. If you prefer a more oversized fit or want to accommodate a shirt underneath, I suggest sizing up. This particular color is such a favorite and so versatile.
Paul Green shoes have a luxury price for sure, but the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is a great opportunity to pick up high quality brands like this that truly make a difference in your wardrobe. I’ve never tried on a more comfortable shoe than my Paul Greens. And this Unity platform sneaker is so on trend, so perfect with jeans and so comfortable that I ended up buying two pair. If you have finnicky feet or just desire the support and comfort of good footwear, I strongly encourage you to consider a pair of Paul Green shoes or boots. Mine last me for years, and I never regret these purchases.

For a little more #NSale 2024 fall outfit inspiration I combined my new Mother the Hustler frayed ankle jeans with a ribbed crewneck t-shirt and relaxed fit blazer. Mother is one of my favorite brands for premium denim that truly fits a woman’s body. In fact, I’ve not met a woman yet who has tried Mother and didn’t like the way they fit. These Mother the Hustler frayed ankle jeans are currently out of stock, but you’ll find other options from Mother in the sale here. And additional Mother options are available at Nordstrom, some of them discounted.
Unfortunately my Nordstrom marled knit blazer is also out of stock, but if it’s in your Nordstrom wish list leave it there. If you have the Nordstrom app you should receive a restock notice if anything in your wish list is available again later. I love the simplicity of this one, the color of this one and oversized fit of this one.
One of my favorite finds in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has been the Allsaints Stevie cropped t-shirt. This is one of those tops that, yeah, it’s cropped, but it’s not nearly as short as it appears in the photos on the website. I’m even able to give it a front-tuck in this outfit. Especially if you favor high waisted jeans and pants, this finely ribbed cotton tee is the perfect length for wearing untucked without exposing your midriff. It was originally available in white, grey and black, but sizes are going fast.
Again I completed this outfit with my Paul Green Unity platform sneakers, this time in white leather. This is such a classic fall style formula for me, one I wear over and over. I carried the Kate Spade NY large Carlyle leather tote with this outfit. This is such a great tote, perfect for everyday use. It’s large enough to accommodate many tablets or laptops, but small enough to feel daily-worthy. It’s also available in a pretty caramel shade they call bungalow.
Finally, I experimented with a new-to-me brand, Faherty. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with new brands because you can try out their newest styles at the best prices.
My Faherty essential organic cotton blend drawstring pants are super comfortable and more forgiving than I thought they might be. Often pants of this silhouette don’t work well for my 5’8″ frame, but these are a nice length and fit true to size; I’m wearing a medium. Right now they are available in most sizes, so I suggest you grab them if you are a Nordstrom cardholder or add them to your wish list if you’re shopping the sale when it opens to everyone on Monday, July 15, 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time.
I’m wearing the navy drawstring pants with the Faherty Portia top. It’s super soft and easy to throw on with jeans, skirts or these drawstring pants. This pretty print top runs true to size; I’m wearing a medium.
You could certainly wear loafers, mules or even sandals with this transitional season outfit, but I’m pretty much a sneakers gal when it comes to casual looks like this. So again I wore my Paul Green Unity platform sneakers.
As with the first outfit, I carried the Coach Chelsea pebbled leather shoulder bag. This is the perfect size bag for everyday, and I love this cognac color. However, it’s also available in black.
I know it may be frustrating that several things I’ve shown here are out of stock already. Nordstrom will not be restocking items, but returns will come in. In fact, I returned a large portion of my order (nothing shown here, of course) just yesterday. And there are still so many great fall and wear-now finds available in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I’ll be scouring the sale today so that I can alert my #NSale Nsiders on Sunday afternoon about the very best buys that are available, well-stocked (as far as I can see) and truly great additions to your wardrobe or beauty drawer.

Love your new BL diamond pendent. I’m looking forward to seeing how you style it. I have a 1 ct diamond drop and often wonder how I might best combine it with other necklaces and different necklines. It’s a little smaller than your necklace, but I think it’s close enough that it will be helpful. Do you think you will wear it daily with most casual outfits?
Hi Lael. Yes, I’ve been wearing almost every day since I got it. And I’ve just layered it with my other 14k gold chain from Penelope mostly. But once I did wear it with my Ana Luisa jewelry too.
