My #NSale 2021 Top 10 Boot & Bootie Choices

Noteworthy Style Trends

I haven’t read any style reports for fall boots yet. But I can surmise plenty from browsing the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. We’re seeing:

• big lug soles
• lots of white offerings
• lace-up boots
• military and moto inspired styles
• fewer animal prints, but still some croc patterns
• narrow shaft boots to accommodate the more relaxed jean styles
• fewer wedge heels
• a return to the classic, chunky Chelsea boot

Before you shop…

You want to shop this sale like a boss. So before you begin filling your Nordstrom Anniversary Sale wish list or shopping for boots, consider these things:

• What kind of vibe or aesthetic do you want your outfits to have this fall and winter?
• What is your real lifestyle and where and how will you be wearing boots generally?
• Do you need waterproofed boots…or not?
• What kind of jeans will you be wearing? You’ll want wider shaft booties to accommodate skinny jeans, but you may need boots with a narrower shaft if you’re wearing straight or fuller leg jeans.
• What length pants will you be wearing with your boots or booties?

And here are my top ten (approximately!) boots and booties in the sale. I’m sharing them in order of price, lowest to highest. But keep in mind cost per wear as you consider prices. Also, I’m including a pink asterisk beside the boots or booties that are actually on my personal NSale wish list. I’m at least trying these boots, but that doesn’t mean I’ll keep them all. Remember, Nordstrom provides free shipping, no minimum required. And they make returns easy and FREE, too. In fact, you can return shipped purchases to your nearest Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack, or you can ship them back free.

One more thing, I want you to know that I chose these boots and booties with you and me in mind. I selected options that are comfortable, in heel heights that most of my 50+ aged readers enjoy and that will serve us well in the lifestyles that many of us have. Miller Water Resistant Chelsea Boot // By Caslon, a Nordstrom brand, available in black and burgundy, just $59.90. Great little water resistant Chelsea if you’re wanting to put your toe in the lug sole trend.

Hayle Platform Chelsea Boot // This Steve Madden bootie is available in black and bone faux leather styles and this sand suede. The sock style shaft will work wonderfully with straight or fuller leg jeans.

Sawyer Waterproof Boots // This Blondo boot is available in five dark neutral colors and textures. It’s well under $100 in the #NSale but goes up to $130 afterwards.

Kensington Chelsea Boot // Just under $100 in the sale, this 42Gold boot also comes in black suede and black and white leather croc options. I’m trying this out mainly to wear with dresses and skirts.

Waxton Chelsea Boot // Still just under $100 in the sale, this Franco Sarto boot will go up to $150 after the sale. I love my other Franco Sarto boots; they’re the most comfortable ones I have. I like the narrow shaft on this fairly traditional Chelsea boot with a modern squared off toe.

Padmia Chelsea Boot // Also marked down to $99.90 in the #NSale, this Marc Fisher boot will almost double in price afterwards.

Drew Waterproof Bootie // A treaded lug sole will keep you grounded in this waterproof bootie that features a convenient front zip closure and cushioned footbed.

Stevie Bootie // This Franco Sarto bootie will undoubtedly be quite comfortable, too. but I think I’m done with the high heels…unless I decide to wear more flare leg or boot cut jeans. If you are wearing those styles of jeans, these boots would make a great choice.

Wilma Waterproof Bootie // I added this Vionic bootie to the top picks because the brand is traditionally quite comfortable. I also appreciate the inside zipper on this bootie.

Joss Knit bootie // I added this Eileen Fisher bootie to my personal wish list because this spring I was wishing I had a lightweight bootie to wear on cold days. I would really prefer this bootie in a lighter color, but I’m willing to try it for the fabric.

Reed Riding Boot // I’d like to replace my black riding boots. That was on my list last year, and I struck out. I’m trying these Naturalizer boots because they do offer wide calf sizes.

Ariel Top Zip Boots // The Allsaints brand is known for its fine, edgy leather and suede products. I have an Allsaints leather jacket and love it. It’s in the sale, by the way! These boots have laceup detailing (not functionable) and a front zipper for easy on and off. They come in black leather, white suede and cognac sand suede. They’re lovely. If I didn’t have something similar I’d be ordering these for sure. Yes, they’re just under $200 in the sale, but they’ll go up to $350 afterwards.

These are the wild cards. But aren’t they pretty???

Stretch Knit Bootie // This Veronica Beard bootie better feel great for the price. But if I worked in an office where I needed to wear heels, I’d definitely invest in this beautiful streamlined bootie. The sock style will work wonderfully with pants, jeans, dresses or skirts.

Dayana Water Resistant Stretch Bootie // Known for their great selection in waterproof and water resistant footwear, this Aquatalia bootie would also be perfect for wearing under wool trousers or wider leg jeans.

Blessed for My Day

Are you facing some hard days ahead? Take a cue from Jehoshaphat. March into your battles with praise for the Lord. As you voice your praises and thank Him for how He has been faithful to you in the past, you will gain courage and strength. But more importantly, God will move into your battlefield with power and action.

I know it is difficult to even lift your head some days. I’ve been there. And I’ll be there again. We all must face our battles. But we are not alone. Let’s remember that today and shout a battle cry of praise to the Lord.
