Hello from London! Well, if all is going as planned anyhow, I am in London today. But before I left I took a long look at Talbots’ new arrivals and selected some of my favorites from this new September line to share with you. I believe Talbots is offering 25% off your purchase today (fingers crossed that is right!), so it’s a good time to find those pieces that you may want to add to your wardrobe for the upcoming season.

Talbots Favorites for September 2023

At first glance I wasn’t all that impressed with what I saw in Talbots’ new collection for fall. But when I dug a little deeper I saw several things that I definitely want to try. In fact, the four below are probably the ones I’m most curious and excited about trying. I’m definitely crushing on that Johnny collar sweater dress in dark walnut (also in indigo blue). I love a good sweater dress, and the Johnny collar is one of my favorites. And that rich color!

But I also love the stitched waistline on the denim popover shirtdress. It looks like it defines the waist a little while still being a body skimming silhouette. Love that! And I’ve been wanting a good denim dress for sometime now.

clockwise starting at top left: Johnny collar sweater dress in dark walnut (also in indigo blue) // denim popover shirtdress // double face wool blend duster in rich burgundy // Talbots Tribeca pants in black (also in indigo blue)

The double face wool blend duster in rich burgundy looks exquisite, especially worn over that merino wool fit & flare dress in the same color. Wowsa! And I’m very anxious to try Talbots’ new pant silhouette, the Tribeca. They have a modern high waistband, gentle front pleats and a cropped length with just a touch of flare.

Remember, most of Talbots styles are available in misses, petite, plus and plus petites. And a few of their jeans are available in tall sizes. You’ll also find lots of great accessories and shoes at Talbots. And be sure to check out their activewear, too.

I found so many other great finds in Talbots’s new collection. Here are my favs so far.

Blessed for My Day

Do you speak well of your church? Or do you complain about it to others? I think it’s important to remember that, while it is imperfect, the church is the bride of Christ. I’ve always tried to keep that in mind as a pastor’s wife. Even when I grow frustrated with things in the church, I want to speak of my church (and that means the people and the leadership in it) with respect and grace.

Let’s choose to take any complaints we have about our church directly to the Lord. And then, if He so leads, let’s commit to going straight to the source of our frustration to talk things through, again with respect and grace. Many times those differences can be beautifully handled with a simple conversation. But when we talk to others about our church, let’s choose to speak of it with joy, love and commitment to its purposes.

We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers and sisters, as is only fitting, because your faith is increasing abundantly, and the love of each and every one of you toward one another grows ever greater. As a result, we ourselves speak proudly of you among the churches of God for your perseverance and faith in the midst of all your persecutions and afflictions which you endure.  ~ 2 Thessalonians 1:3-4

xoxo, Kay

  1. If a person thinks their church is not teaching sound doctrine then they should speak to the pastor. If they are not satisfied then they should find another church.
