Happy Friday! Rather than sharing the same ol’, same ol’ winter outfits I’ve been wearing this past week, let’s take a look at some more new spring arrivals from brands you love. In today’s try-on session I’m featuring new spring finds from brands like Ann Taylor, Madewell, J.McLaughlin, Spartina449, Spanx and M.Gemi. We’ve got a LOT to run through, so let’s get going!

How to Shop Here: To shop the items I feature, just click on the words in the captions of photos, the highlighted words in my text or the images in the shopping widgets I sometimes include. When you shop through my links I potentially earn a commission on your purchases, but at no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting my work here by shopping my links. Items that have been gifted to me by the associated brand are indicated with “c/o”.
IMPORTANT: Just for reference, I’m 5’8″ and weigh about 160 pounds. I have even proportions and an hourglass shape. I generally wear a size misses 10, a size 30 in jeans or a medium. You can assume that is the size I’m showing unless I tell you otherwise. I encourage you to focus on the individual pieces I’m sharing more than the outfits. I’m putting things together so that I can show you as many new spring arrivals as possible, so these outfits are not necessarily styled the way I would wear them (although some are).
New Spring Arrivals from Brands You Love
First I’ve got some new pieces from J.McLaughlin. I appreciate this New England brand’s cheerful colors, classic aesthetic and feminine detailing. I sized up to a large in the floral print Lois shirt for a nice fit, but I’m wearing my usual size medium in the Ashby cashmere sweater.

The sweater comes in soft coral and ivory, too. Here I’ve worn these J.McLaughlin new spring arrivals with new Ayr The Secret Sauce jeans. I always size up to a 31 in these jeans. This is my second pair and they are true favorites. They’re available in other washes, as well as long and short lengths. I’m wearing the regular length.

Below I’m wearing the Ashby cashmere sweater worn as a pullover and I’ve added a pretty silk scarf. It comes in two other equally pretty prints, but mine is the denim. It looks pretty tied on the handle of the J.McLaughlin Lane leather mini tote, too.

With the sweater, I’m wearing a pair of ankle length Grace pants from Ann Taylor. These beautiful 52% cotton, 45% Lyocell, 3% elastane, machine washable pants fit true to size, maybe just a bit roomy. But I’m happy with my usual size 10 for a generous fit that serves me well for white pants. By the way, I neglected to press the top of these pants. I pressed the legs, but not the top…I have no idea why. Ha! They have a 27” inseam with a 23” leg opening, but they also come in petite and tall sizes.

I completed this outfit with a trending resin bangle and light oatmeal suede loafers from M.Gemi. I did have to size up one half size in the loafers, but with that size increase they are extremely comfortable and so soft inside. They also make this same loafer (in a variety of shades) in a beautiful perforated suede, the Sacca Donna lattice loafer. You can use code KAY15 at M.Gemi for 15% off.

Above and below I’m wearing the Ann Taylor Grace pants with a tweed belted jacket in a lovely speckled yellow multi. Yellow isn’t usually my best color, but I do love this belted jacket so I’m adding it to my wardrobe. It fits nicely true to size and can be worn multiple ways. For instance, on the website they actually show it with blue jeans.

But I think the belted jacket would also look nice with these yellow trousers for a monochromatic look. Today at Ann Taylor you get 30% off full-price styles, including these new arrivals.

Below and above I’m back to the Ayr jeans and a new J.McLauglin shirt. This is the Theodora and it comes in a range of pretty colors. The mauve pink I’m wearing is especially pretty for spring. I do recommend sizing up in this top for a less body hugging fit. I think it’s a nice length to wear untucked with full length jeans and pants.

I’m also wearing the Soludos Ibiza platform sneakers that I originally shared in this earlier Spring New Arrivals blog post. I also have the similar Paul Green platform sneakers, but these Soludos sneakers are almost just as comfortable (which is VERY comfortable) for a fraction of the price. They fit true to size, and the 10mm platform accommodates the length of my full length jeans nicely.

Above I’m wearing a couple of pieces from a new to me brand, Southern Tide. These beach ready Laken wide leg gauze pants are 100% cotton, machine washable and lined (also in silky, soft cotton). They fit nicely true to size and are quite long (remember, I’m 5’8″). The Emery button front shirt is 100% cotton poplin and also available in a pretty pink and white stripe. It fits very comfortably true to size as well. These would make great beach vacation essentials that you could mix and match, and you could wear both pieces as swimsuit covers, too.

Above and below I’m wearing some new pieces from Spanx under a trench coat from London Fog. The trench coat outer shell is 57% cotton, 43% polyester for a water-repellant finish. It’s single-breasted with a tie belt and a removable hood. I like the double-collar detail and the fit is really nice true to size. The jacket is also available in what appears to be a soft turquoise, but they call it green. Both colors are currently 40% off and available in sizes XS to XXL.

I’m wearing the short sleeve ribbed tee from Spanx, and this is a winner. The Aster blue is just gorgeous, but it does come in other colors. I appreciate the hip length on this tee, as well as the classic crewneck and sleeve length. I’m wearing my TTS medium for a nice fit.

I LOVE these new SPANXsupersmooth™ WellSuited 360 easy flare pants. I’m wearing them in camel heather, but they also come in a heather grey and classic black. The four-season, machine washable fabric is super soft and silky on the skin for all day comfort and light compression. They feature a zipper and hook front closure and side zip pockets, so I think they’re a great travel pant for business or simply a more refine look. I’m wearing them in the regular length, but they come in petite and tall, too. I always size up to a large (per the size chart) in Spanx bottoms, so I did here, too. It’s a slightly roomy fit, but I’m fine with it.

Above I’m wearing the Spanx pants with the Toulouse knit cardigan in navy from L’Agence. I sized up to a large per the size chart for a beautiful fit in this exquisite, classic jacket/cardigan. I love the luxe knit and the gold buttons. It does have padded shoulders, too. Unfortunately the midnight navy is almost sold out, but it does come in ivory and black options, too. This piece is definitely staying in my wardrobe for elevated looks. I topped it with a pretty silk scarf and completed the look with my Sarah Flint slingbacks and this beautiful Parisa Wang East West bag in brown.

Above and below I’m wearing the Toulouse knit cardigan with paper white high rise wide leg jeans from Nic+Zoe. Out of caution, I did size up to a 31 in these, but they are a little roomy. That said, since they are white I’m keeping this size. The denim fabric is 52% cotton, 36% rayon, 10% recycled polyester, 2% spandex, so they have nice stretch and are dense, not see-through. They have a 31″ inseam and a 12 1/4″ rise. They also come in a pretty blue, which is available in petite sizes, too. I’ve found my dressier white jeans for the spring and summer.

Above I’m also wearing a luxe new silk scarf from Eileen Fisher. I’ll definitely be taking this one with me to London to add versatility to my capsule travel wardrobe. And below I’m wearing that pretty brown, navy and red silk scarf from Madewell again with a relaxed cashmere tee in ruby red and dark wash straight leg jeans from Citizens of Humanity.

The short sleeve cashmere sweater fits nicely true to size for a slightly relaxed fit. It comes in two neutrals and a lovely ivory and navy stripe, too. The Citizens of Humanity Palma straight leg jeans fit true to size; I’m wearing a 30 very comfortably. I love the 11″ rise, the 27 /2″ inseam (for an ankle length fit on me) and the 17″ leg opening. They are constructed in 81% regenerative cotton, 11% Lyocell, 6% polyester, 2% elastane for nice stretch with a real jean feel. I’ve found my dark wash ankle length jean for the season.

The Alenna slingback pump by Dolce Vita is crafted in soft perforated suede with an adjustable buckle closure, kitten heel and pointed toe. They feature the now trending higher vamp and are super comfortable and soft on the foot. Great for all-day wear. They fit true to size.

Above I’m back in the (un-pressed) Grace pants from Ann Taylor and my Nordstrom slingback pumps, but this time with a print button-down shirt from Spartina449. This Adelaide relaxed fit shirt is part of their new St. Augustine collection. It fits beautifully true to size. On the left I’m wearing the Lorna varsity sweater in bluestone with the shirt. This 100% cotton sweater is super soft, fits true to size and also looks equally nice by itself.

Above and below I’m wearing a new dress from Spartina449. This is the Serena midi dress in Castillo tropical. It fits beautifully true to size; I’m wearing a medium. It’s made from a super soft 95% Peruvian Cotton, 5% Spandex fabric and features a front zipper and pretty detailing at the neck.

I’ve accessorized with a pretty bracelet and coordinating earrings from Spartina449, too, but I failed to show the earrings. I’m wearing Lily Nudes sandals from TKEES, a new to me brand. Each pair is handcrafted in Brazil from buttery-soft leather, with a cushioned, flexible sole. They’re made to move with you and blend in, so they come in a wide assortment of “nude” colors. These are great little flip flops and I’ll be wearing them all summer long.

We’ll wrap up this try-on session of new spring arrivals with a parade of dresses. Bear with me and my white, white legs. Ha! At least I got my much-needed pedicure last week! First up I have about six dresses from Jude Connally, where you can always use code KAY15 for 15% off your purchase. In all of the dresses I’m wearing my usual size medium.

The Susanna shirtdress is one of my favorite silhouettes. I always get it in the longer length, but it does come in a shorter length, too. I’m wearing it with my M.Gemi sandals, which I’ve had for three years now, but they have these popular shoes again this year. They come in other colors, too, and fit true to size. I’m also wearing a new blanc Janelle jean jacket from L’Agence. I have this stretchy denim jacket in two other colors and absolutely love it. It’s lightweight and a slim fit. I size up to a large.

The Susanna dress above is in the square dot pattern, and again I’m wearing the longer length. It comes in several other pretty prints and colors, too. I think it fits true to size for a slim fit.

The Libby dress is my other favorite silhouette at Jude Connally. Of course, it’s also made in their signature Jude cloth, which is silky soft and cool on the skin. This one does feature just a little bit of the gold gilding in the fabric, too. I think it’s a very flattering silhouette.

I like the silhouette of the Portia dress, but the elasticized sleeve band is a little snug on my larger upper arms. I do think the Imperial Garden Peony Gold print is especially pretty, and it is available in some of the other dresses, too.

The Minna dress is in Jude Connally’s cotton voile fabric, so it’s a little different from the others I’m showing. It’s a shirtdress in a midi length with 3/4 length sleeves. I think it fits a little snug in the medium, but I feel like the large would be too big. Honestly, I just need to lose a few pounds to look my best in any of these Jude Connally dresses. I’m working on it!

We’re back to another Portia dress here, this time in the print Stargazer Peri. It fits true to size. Remember to use code KAY15 for 15% off at Jude Connally. I’m wearing my Tory Burch Miller sandals here, which are repeat favorites. They run true to size or size down if you have narrow feet. Let’s move on to two other dresses and we’ll wrap this extremely long try-on session up.

This black and white Henley midi dress is new from Evereve. I think we can expect to see a lot of these mixed media dresses again. They were very popular last year. This one comes in at a sweet price, compared to others I’ve seen. It fits nicely true to size. The cloth belt is removable and I might swap in a different one, but I love this cool, easy-breezy dress.

And finally this green and white striped Lauren Ralph Lauren dress is a pretty option for so many spring events and occasions. I’d wear this sweet frock for baby or bridal showers, brunch or lunch with friends, graduation or afternoon recitals. It is on the thin side, so I’ll need a slip underneath. But it fits true to size for a slightly roomy fit. I think the pleated waistline is very flattering. It looks like it’s selling fast, so if you’re interested I’d snatch it up.
Below I’ve included a shopping widget with most of the items, but you’ll need to shop the Jude Connally dresses through the links above. Thanks so much for dropping in. Let me know if you have questions about anything.

Blessed for My Day
When we hear gossip or slander we have a choice. We can either participate in the conversation or shut it down. I used to think that the best I could do was not repeat the message to others. But then I came to realize that I could do better than that. I can move the conversation to another topic or politely remind the other person that we shouldn’t be discussing someone else.
But it’s not just gossip and slander that I need to shut down. I also don’t need to repeat to others mistakes or offenses that I see or know of first hand. Bottom line? My love for people should compel me to only share the best, not the worst. These are things I’m thinking about recently.
One who conceals an offense seeks love, But one who repeats a matter separates close friends. ~ Proverbs 17:9
Thank you for all of the lovely items you showed today. I was really in the mood for spring a few days ago, but alas we now have 7-9″ of snow on the ground! Back to winter, sigh. I know you must be tired of showing winter-type outfits, and it must be a pain to photo every day, but I (and I’m sure others who are just as burned out as me on trying to style winter clothes…) I really DO appreciate outfit inspiration for the here and now. This is just my opinion, but wanted to share. Thank you for all you do to help all of us style and “dress for our days” xoxo
What a beautiful array of colorful and cheerful options! My favorite is the outfit with the mint sweater. So refreshing! Also, loved all the scarf alternatives you wore. Very lovely!
Thanks for your post today. I am disappointed with the AYR jeans I ordered. I sized up and still do not fit me. Could not even button them up. Must be the rise I guess they are not the jeans for me. l will stay with my JCrew, Ann Taylor and Paige jeans.
I’m so sorry to hear that, Sherry. But thanks for letting me know. I did have trouble with one of their styles a couple of years ago, but now sure which one it was. All jeans do run differently and individuals need various things in denim. So it’s not you; it’s the jeans! Enjoy the ones you love.
Love the dresses……at my age feel midi length are much more flattering than above the knee.
I love the navy cardigan with the scarf and white pants. You look so sharp. I’m really into blues and navy. I like your hair too. The devotional message is spot on. I need to remember that.
Great try on haul. You found lots of nice things
I’m happy to see spring clothes ! It’s been in the 50’s this past week in Ohio and I’m starting to think about wearing dresses – don’t wear them in the winter. I don’t wear swim suits , my skin care consists of water and sometimes aloe Vera on my face ( I was blessed with wrinkle free skin and I will be 80 this year.) I also always do my own nails. However – I am always interested in clothes and get good inspiration on this site !
I really like the Lois print blouse in the Beekeeper print, I have 2 other blouses from JMcLaughlin in Lois shirt style and they are so pretty! I have to size up to a large in them also, Run small.
