Happy Friday! I’ve rounded up photos of the outfits I have worn recently to share with you, as is my custom here at Dressed for My Day. I figure with a moniker like that you have to keep yourself accountable! Plus, this little exercise truly does help me to be a little more thoughtful about putting myself together each day. And maybe it provides a little outfit inspiration for you, too.

How to Shop Here: To shop the items I feature, just click on the words in the captions of photos, the highlighted words in my text or the images in the shopping widgets I sometimes include. When you shop through my links I potentially earn a commission on your purchases, but at no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting my work here by shopping my links. Items that have been gifted to me by the associated brand are indicated with “c/o”.

How This Works

These are my real life outfits from my own closet. Many of these things are available, but some may not be. When I can locate one quickly I’ll share substitutes and/or more economical options. But if I don’t provide one and you’d like for me to, just ask. All available items are linked in the captions of the photos. Even if they don’t look like links (sometimes they don’t highlight for some reason), they generally are. So just click through if you’re interested.

Friday

Last Friday my daughter and her family were in town. In fact, they’d been visiting us all week. What a joy! James did a photo shoot for them that morning (the photos are looking AMAZING!) and we treated them to a special lunch out that day. I wore my Jude cloth Libby Dress all day.

I’ve been wearing dresses a lot this summer. And the Jude cloth in which these Jude Connally dresses are constructed is just so cooling and pretty. The dresses tend to look fresh and feel great all day long. Remember, you can use code KAY15 at Jude Connally for 15% off your purchase.

Saturday

I guess I enjoyed the Jude Connally dress so much on Friday that I decided to wear another on Saturday. Ha! Well, a one-and-done outfit is just a really nice option for summer. Let’s face it, summer is the easiest time to wear a dress since you don’t have to fuss with tights or boots or a coat.

I love the fit and silhouette of this Tess Midi Dress. Both of my Jude Connally dresses come in multiple other color patterns, by the way. And they fit true to size.

Monday

Sunday after Abby and her family left, I was so exhausted that I didn’t go to church. In fact, I just kind of “took the day off” and didn’t really get dressed for my day. I think that definitely helped me to be ready to get up and at ’em again on Monday, when I wore my Frank & Eileen Lauren polo dress. See how much I’m wearing dresses this summer. Ha!

polo dress (use code ESCAPE at Frank & Eileen for $50 off one full-priced item) // sandals // // earrings // 14k gold diamond chain necklace (use code KAY20 for 20% off) // diamond pendant necklace (in NSale)

By the way, Frank & Eileen has generously given us an exclusive LTK shopping code for $50 off your full price purchase. Use code ESCAPE to get $50 off in your shopping cart as long as you have at least one full price item. They’ve never done this that I know of, and the code is temporary. It’s a good time to get that one full price item (maybe this dress) and some of their great sale items. I have these Kinsale linen pants in white and in black, and I love them. They’re 40% off. Yes, they’re final sale, but I can tell you they run true to size; I wear a 10.

Tuesday

Ha! Another dress. I don’t think I even realized I was wearing dress after dress. This is the day I stepped out for a nail appointment and then a Talbots try-on session. It was a hot, sticky day, so I felt comfortable in my Eileen Fisher linen shirtdress.

linen shirtdress (use code FRESH25 for $25 off your purchase at Eileen Fisher) // sandals (light sand) // 14k gold diamond chain necklace (use code KAY20 for 20% off) // diamond pendant necklace (in NSale)

By the way, just through this weekend, you can use code FRESH25 for $25 off your purchase at Eileen Fisher. This organic linen shirtdress is actually already marked down. And you get 40% off that sale price. You may have to use the $25 off code on full-price items. The shirtdress, like most items at Eileen Fisher, runs a little large; I sized down to a small.

Wednesday

My try-on session at Talbots on Tuesday had been a little underwhelming, so I decided to give it another try at a different store on Wednesday. (You can see that extensive try-on blog post HERE.) That day I wore some of my favorite linen pants and a button-up shirt made from a cheerful Liberty of London fabric.

I accessorized with my favorite cognac summer sandals, belt and straw tote. You can shop any of these looks by clicking through the words in the captions of the photos. And this is another outfit for which you can get $50 off with that limited time code, ESCAPE.

Thursday

Yesterday was just a work from home day. And I actually did more work around my home than I did from it. I just caught up on laundry and such. I wore my red linen shorts and black linen vest.

organic linen vest (use code FRESH25 for $25 off your purchase at Eileen Fisher)// red linen shorts // similar black sandals // 14k gold diamond chain necklace (use code KAY20 for 20% off) // diamond pendant necklace (in NSale)

I noticed those red linen shorts, which are also available in black in a few sizes, are marked down. PLUS you get an extra 40% off that sale price. I showed several fun ways to wear them HERE.

That’s a wrap! Let me know if you have any questions. Now I need to go get my walk in and get dressed for this day! Have a good one.

Blessed for My Day

Have you taken time today to simply be in the presence of the Lord? Have you met Him in the pages of His Word? Have you spoken to Him? And then listened for His quiet voice, leaning in to still the distractions and focus on His instructions and words of encouragement alone?

Some days I get in a hurry to do the things God has called me to do and miss the most important thing: simply being with my God. But the Bible assures me that if I will simply seek Him, He will make Himself found. The God who created me desires to spend time with me. He wants to be known by me and to speak to my heart. He wants the same with you.

For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand outside.
I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God
Than dwell in the tents of wickedness. ~ Psalm 84:10

xoxo, Kay

  1. I really like your what you really wore on Friday. I also enjoyed BFMD. Really spoke to me today. Have a blessed day.

  2. I enjoy your posts and always wonder why you post 2 pictures of each outfit. It would be helpful to show a side or back view in addition to the front view. Sometimes I play a mental game with myself, looking for “what’s different” between the two pictures. LOL!

    1. I just figure you’d rather see two different poses instead of all the stuff around me in the photo. So just using the real estate I suppose. But I don’t generally like taking rear or side photos as I never can get them quite right. I let James do that occasionally on a photo shoot when I think it matters. But the selfies never look right.

  3. I love these how I really dressed for my day. I enjoy hearing what you like about each outfit. And it challenges me to be intentional with each of my days working from home! Because to be honest some days I don’t WANT to get out of my pj’s!
I also wanted to say in your Saturday outfit the smile and angle of picture looks just like Abigail! She got her beautiful smile from you!
