This weekend in the United States we remember those who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom and security. Many also take Memorial Day weekend to tidy up burial plots and place fresh flowers on the graves of their loved ones, regardless of how they died. If you are remembering family members who have passed, my heart is with you. And I pray for you to have a weekend of quiet joy as you reflect on precious memories and cherish the time you had with your dear ones.
But we all know that long holiday weekends also provide ample sales and shopping opportunities. As we unofficially kick off the summer season, retailers are rolling back prices on new arrivals, offering additional savings on sale items and clearing out spring inventory to make way for more seasonal styles. I encourage you to shop smart if you’re browsing the offers this weekend. In fact, amidst the mayhem and hype, I’ve rounded up my favorite buys and I’m only sharing with you the Memorial Day Weekend sales that I truly think are worthy to consider. Kay’s curated list of Memorial Day Weekend sales
ALICE + OLIVIA is offering an extra 25% off sale items, plus tons of new styles just added to markdown. This is their biggest and most popular sale of the year. I love their silk blouses, but I don’t see many in the sale. They have very unique, high quality items that are perfect for the once-in-a-lifetime vacation or cruise. Definitely worth checking out their offerings.
AMAZON – You’ll find some great deals at Amazon this weekend, so they’re well worth browsing. For instance, this LifeStraw water bottle (which filters the water as you drink through the straw) is perfect for travel and currently 28% off the price I paid recently.
ANN TAYLOR – Get 40% off your entire purchase at Ann Taylor during their Start of Summer Event. May 21-22 you’ll also get an extra 15% off. And New Arrivals are included in the offer. I’ve collected some of my favorites in the shopping widget below and I also have a couple of style boards for inspiration. ANNE COLE – It’s a great weekend to shop for a swimsuit or coverup. You’ll get 30% off all Resort & Summer Collections at Anne Cole with code MDW30. This suit and this crochet trim coverup get my vote.
ATHLETA is offering 40% off shorts, tanks, dresses & swim during their long weekend sale. I gathered some of my favorites below.
AVARA – You’ll get up to 50% off almost everything at Avara this weekend through the 25th. These sandals are perfect for everyday and vacation. And this jean will look sharp all summer and into fall.
