Most of my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale order arrived today and I’m surprised to say that I loved almost everything. Not only that, but everything fit really nicely. So I’ll be trying things on tomorrow for some photos and videos. I can share those with you this weekend to help you a little with your shopping…if you’re so inclined. Because the sale is now open to ALL Nordstrom cardholders and it opens Saturday to non-cardholders I took a thorough run through all of my favorites to see what is and is not available at this point. These are my favorite NSale finds that are worthwhile and still in stock…at least as I’m writing this blog post. 😉

How to Shop Here: To shop the items I feature, just click on the words in the captions of photos, the highlighted words in my text or the images in the shopping widgets I sometimes include. When you shop through my links I potentially earn a commission on your purchases, but at no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting my work here by shopping my links. Items that have been gifted to me by the associated brand are indicated with “c/o”.
Meanwhile my assistant Lucy has run through all of the Nordstrom Anniversary style boards that we’ve been sharing in the #NSale NSiders Newsletter to see if things are still in stock on those. She’s replaced the out-of-stock items with in-stock subs and we’re sharing them here for everyone to get a little inspiration.
Home Favorites in Stock and Worth It
Yesterday my order of these crystal wine glasses arrived. They’re gorgeous and quite tall. I had to shuffle some things around to fit them in a cabinet. But I’m fine with that because I think they’re truly special. I only got four of the Daybreak colors, but the Moonrise collection looks pretty, too.

I also got this set of 2 tumblers, and I’m wondering if I should order two more…quickly! They are a beautiful weight and thickness and look truly special and festive. I think they’re perfect for juice, sparkling water and lime or a small cocktail. I have this mixing bowl set in red coming in tomorrow and I’m anxious for it to arrive. We all laugh a little that my daughter has gone “crunchy,” but she’s encouraged us to get rid of all the plastics in our kitchen. So I’m making an effort, but you know it’s hard at this season in life. I think these bowls are a step in the right direction.
Favorite Menswear Still Available in the Sale
James didn’t choose to shop this year since he’d just gotten in several things from J.Crew Factory (he LOVES this shirt) and UNTUCKit. But my son-in-law dropped in the morning Abigail and I were at Nordstrom and selected several things perfect for his work environment.

Andrew got three of these Peter Millar quarter-zip pullovers, a Peter Millar performance jersey pullover and short sleeve button-down shirt. He also ordered this leather belt, these Bombas socks and these sneakers.
Favorite Zella Items in the Sale
My daughter has been singing the praises of Nordstrom’s Zella activewear ever since she discovered their maternity leggings a couple of years ago. But now she loves their activewear for working out, running errands and travel. They always have a good selection of Zella in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

Abby tried on these Zella knit shorts the other day and they were comfy and so cute. She ended up not getting them so that she could stay within her budget. But she said they would have made great “after dinner shorts.” Hahaha, like mother like daughter. I like to put on something super comfy and cute after dinner as well.
Favorite Pajamas in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
I’ve frequently purchased sleepwear in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. They have some great styles and wonderful fabrics for comfortable sleeping and lounging.

Favorite Women’s Fashions Still Available and Worth It
Honestly, this is one of the best years for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale in my opinion. Maybe that’s just because I feel a little less frantic about shopping it and more in tune with what I need to build the wardrobe I want. I’m not distracted by things that don’t resonate with me. And I’m very focused on elevated basics and classics.

I got the Rag & Bone sneakers above and they are comfortable and so fresh and stylish. Love! I also purchased the AllSaints leather bag in that beautiful oxblood, but it looks like it is only available in black now. We might eventually see some of the oxbloods return, but accessories aren’t returned as frequently as clothing, so I wouldn’t count on it. But this bag is still available in oxblood and this one comes in a pretty burgundy.
I didn’t opt to purchase a blazer this year, but Abigail tried on all of the Veronica Beard blazers and they fit beautifully. The classic navy dickey blazer shown below is still available, as is the plaid tweed blazer, houndstooth check dickey jacket (but going fast!) and the corduroy trimmed navy barn jacket.

Abigail purchased a fairly casual but very pretty dress in the sale, but I didn’t get one at all. In fact you can see all of Abigail’s purchases here if you’d like. I think her favorite purchase is either her Madewell suede shopper tote (which she hopes can soon replace her diaper bag as her constant companion, ha!) or her Kut from the Kloth jeans, which are no longer available. But I know she also loves those Dolce Vita sneakers. They are so sharp looking and she reported that they were comfortable, too.
Abigail also got the dainty Monica Vinader earrings shown below, but in silver. That’s the only jewelry we got between us, but we both have Bony Levy necklaces we’ve gotten in previous sales and we absolutely love wearing them.

So let me share with you the items that I’ve pulled in the sale that are still available (at least for now) and that I really think are smart investments. It’s a big collection, so you’ll need to use the bar on the righthand side of the boutique shopping widget to scroll down to the additional items. Then I’ll share with you what of this list I ordered and received, as well as my feedback on those items.
Of the items above, here are the ones I got in…
- The Rails Norah cotton blend cardigan was a surprise find in the store. I like the trim fit and the striking details. It fits TTS.
- The Paige Sasha high waist wide leg jeans fit just like my others of the same type; I size up to a 31. They are a more narrow wide leg than some jeans, which I like. I love the high waist and the wash is really pretty. BEST JEAN!
- The Frank & Eileen Eileen relaxed button-up shirt is the great quality I’ve come to expect from this favorite brand. It’s a classic stripe in a super soft cotton. LOVE.
- Reiss Lucia wool blend double-faced coat in black is super luxurious and just PERFECTION. It feels like a high quality cozy blanket, and it’s a true dark black. It’s THE coat I’ve been looking for. The 10 is roomy on me, but I’m keeping it.
- The Lennox wide leg trousers from the Nordstrom brand are just delightful. I got both colors. However, for some reason I sized up to a 12 and I think I need my true size 10. For the sweet price, these are great pants. However, I did get in the Theory trousers that I shared in the other blog posts and video and they are out of this world beautiful, and fit so nicely, too. They’re no longer available, but if I’m going to keep those, and I am, then I probably don’t need the Nordstrom trousers.
- I LOVE the Vince wool & cashmere button vest. I got the camel, but the dark grey is beautiful, too.
- These kitten heel slingback pumps are exquisite and super comfortable. And these sneakers in the moonlight and cacao brown are fun.
I do still have a few items coming in today and later next week. I’ll keep you posted. And remember, returns will start coming in later next week and you’ll still have time to shop for some things that may be out of stock right now. I don’t think Nordstrom will actually “restock” anything, but returns will come in and they’ll go back into the sale. So check in daily on those things that are in your wish list but marked “no longer available.” I’d be glad to help you watch for something, too, if you’ll email me and let me know about it. Have a great day!

Do you ever find yourself in the position of needing to encourage someone who truly is in a hard place? The fact is, they are going through a very difficult thing and they don’t yet see the light at the end of the tunnel. The temptation may be to sugarcoat their circumstances or to offer platitudes that really only minimize their pain or heartache.
Instead I encourage you to speak truth with love and grace. That’s what Jesus did when He walked this earth. And people were drawn to Him because of this divine mixture of hard truth and loving grace. It’s okay to acknowledge that someone is going through something really hard. But we can encourage them by reminding them of God’s presence, His sufficient grace, His promise to supply strength in our times of weakness and His love.
…strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying, “Through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.”
Delighted to have the proper name for “after dinner shorts! Regarding the BFMD, I visit a man from church weekly who is in chronic pain and has two types of cancer, so it is indeed difficult sometimes to think of anything encouraging to say. Maybe not in exactly the same circumstances, but most likely some day I will need that encouragement and visits and I try to think of what might comfort me although I know he is living it and at the moment, I am only visiting his pain.
I’m almost able to access the NAS… I have my wish list ready to go. I did have to buy one item directly from the manufacturer ahead of time – a pair of shoes I really wanted – rather than wait. My size isn’t common or well stocked, so I didn’t want to take a chance. Sure enough, it’s already sold out, not only in my size but in many others. However, happy for me, I received them today from my non-NAS order. I am so glad I made that decision. 🙂 Your BFMD, I also know someone who is going through a very extended trial, with no end in sight. I’m doing my best to show compassion yet speak truth with this person. Definitely not sugarcoating or offering platitudes.
This is the first time ever to shop Nordstrom, much less the Anniversary Sale. Since loosing so much weight this past year, my wardrobe needs a complete overhaul. All of your adevice and suggestions are so very much appreciated. Now I must wait for my turn to shop. Thank you!
I’m so glad I’ve been of some help to you, Tanya. I’ll be scouring the sale again tonight to see what’s in stock and sharing my top tips. I think you’ll still have some great buys to choose from. And returns will come in over the next three weeks as well.
Hi Kay, the sale went live for me this morning! For jewelry, I got one planned item and one unexpected item, and lost out on one I wanted. The planned was a beautiful MV bracelet that thankfully didn’t sell out by this am (but the matching necklace did, unfortunately). The unexpected item – recommended by a Nordstrom stylist I’ve known for years – a watch. it was just so gorgeous, it was a great choice! Handbag was a bust, none of them appealed to me. But I found one I love on Amazon, so that was a win. And of course, as I mentioned, I got those shoes that I wanted, but early directly from the manufacturer, which was a smart decision, because it sold out days before I could access the sale. All in all, I’m pleased!
Sounds like a successful shopping morning for you. Wonderful! Thanks so much for sharing, Carolyn.
I hear you on our kids helping us get healthier. lol Mine are also encouraging me to get rid of my plastic in my life. I have to say I’ve done it. I even replaced my cutting boards. It’s harder to make changes at our age. I’ve gone all clean with my cleaning supplies, make-up and skin care too. So much more available to be able to do this. I’m glad our kids have these options now and passing onto our grandkids. Thanks for the NSALE update. It was fun to also see what your family picked out.
Way to go! I’ve already changed out my cutting board and several other things. I don’t know why I have such a hard time letting go of those plastic bowls. Hahaha! But I’m going to! Yes, I’m very glad we have more information now and that they are trying to make things safer. And I’m very impressed with my daughter for being such a conscientious mommy. She also recommended that I only use Branch Basics for all of my cleaning, and I’m ordering those products, too. That’s all she uses for cleaning and for laundry. She thinks they are not only healthier but they’re also saving her money. And she says they get the jobs done better than other clean products she has tried.
