For years I played golf weekly with a sweet friend. Despite hitting the course regularly, we weren’t excellent golfers. But we enjoyed pulling our golf bags over the 18 fairways and stopping for lunch after hole 9 or 18, depending on how early we’d started our trek. We laughed and chatted and had at least a few amazing drives every time we played. And we always said we may not be the best golfers, but we were definitely among the cutest! Yeah, that’s pretty much my theory whether you play golf, tennis or the popular pickleball. You gotta make the effort to look cute and classy on the court and course.

I don’t make it out onto the golf course as often as I used to, but I hope to make it a more regular activity again some day. And I’m definitely ready to take up pickleball soon. And when I do I’ll show up looking cute and classy on the court and the course. Just as for every other day, getting dressed for a day of sport is in fact a crucial part of your strategy for success.
Look Cute and Classy on the Course
My Tnuck Sport golf dress from Tuckernuck is so cool and fun for a day of golf. I love opting for a feminine dress instead of the usual pants or shorts. The lightweight 97% Cotton, 3% Spandex quick-dry seersucker feels soft and breezy, and it offers an SPF of 30, too. The dress fits very comfortably true to size; I’m wearing a medium.
Under my golf dress I’m wearing a pair of 4″ tennis shorts, also from Tuckernuck’s Tnuck Sports line. I did size up to a large per the recommendations I saw in the reviews. And they fit beautifully, not too tight at all, but also not baggy. And I love that they have pockets on either side for a golf bag as well as a small sleeve for golf tees on one leg.

Look Cute & Classy on the Court
I don’t play tennis and I haven’t yet taken to the court to play pickleball, but I assume that the attire standards are similar to that for golf. You want to feel comfortable for the game, but also look club appropriate. And that applies even if you’re not playing at a country or tennis club. These court and course sports have rules of etiquette built into their dress code.
Generally collared shirts are a good rule of thumb. And outfits are often built around white and navy, but in recent years have begun to include more color. My ruffle skort and sleeveless zip polo are from Spartina449, another great source for women’s sports apparel. They are both mediums and fit true to size.

This weekend we heard devastating news following the flash floods in Texas. It is too hard to even grasp that so many lives were lost in such a horrible way, quite unexpectedly. And today mourning families have just begun the seemingly never ending process of recovering from the losses and rebuilding their sense of equilibrium. Lord help. I have no words.
But here’s the thing. God does have a word. His Word provides the peace, the promises, the instructions, the wisdom, the sustenance we need for every situation in life. When calamity hits we may or may not immediately run to the Bible. But sister, you need to make your way there sooner than later. God’s Word provides the answers when no one else can.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away. ~ Matthew 24:35
I appreciate your sensitivity in talking about our national tragedy…..national because we all relate, whether we have ever lived in TX or not. Who amongst us hasn’t “trustingly” sent our child off into the world for something…. be it summer camp, a play date, a week with GrandMoomie, kindergarten, college….. the occasions start early— and continue on; and so we relate! We’ve had those feelings and thus our hearts just break for these parents and for these children. Ours is such a broken world. And we can’t fix it. But you give wisdom in saying, when calamity hits we may not immediately run to God’s Word, but get there sooner than later. It truly is the only place where the tension between life and death can find hope. Thank you for your faithfulness in speaking forward in your writing today…. addressing the tragedy and the hurt, and yet within that, there is the tension of continuing on in our own lives, keeping our commitments and responsibilities, but within the lens of praying for these who are hurting, acknowledging their pain and the importance of those lives they nurtured and will forever love. You addressed this with great sensitivity and sincerity.

I love the Tuckernuck products. I have wanted a sports dress for golf for a couple of years, but the ones I have seen are really for younger women. These selections are more cute but not cutesy. I am so going to explore these options.

Praying for everyone affected by the terrible tragedy in Texas! A horrible reminder of how things can change in an instant, and so we need to focus on the eternal. Having said that, we still have to wear clothes, and I find golf shorts and shirts to work well in summer although I don’t play (my husband is happy to get out there by himself and I’m happy he does :). I had a sister who was a fierce competitor, though, and also probably the best-dressed player on the course – her husband rolled his eyes every time another pair of Cole-Haan golf shoes showed up on the doorstep!
