Cozy Winter Mornings at Home – Gift Guide

November 22, 2022

Since we’re emptynesters with no kiddos to rush out the door for school, my husband and I enjoy starting our winter mornings with a fire in the fireplace and good coffee. In fact, we now call the room where we meet up for this morning ritual “the morning room.” And we linger there longer than we could have in other seasons of our marriage. Today I’m sharing some great gift ideas from Nordstrom that will help you and the ones you love enjoy cozy winter mornings at home, too.

Coffee in Front of the Fireplace

Of course the first thing you need for cozy winter mornings in front of the fireplace are great pajamas. Nordstrom’s house brands actually have some of the soft sleepwear I’ve come across. These Nordstrom brand Brushed Hacci Pajamas are quite comfortable and fit true to size. They come in several colors, too. And wearing the Nordstrom Plush Robe is like wrapping up in a soft, cozy cocoon. Oh my! It comes in several shades; I’m wearing the pink wisp.

But if you prefer to enjoy your mornings in something fresh, this 3-Piece So Soft Lounge Set is a really nice option. It features a third piece – a cropped cami – that fits close to the body and can be worn comfortably under the button up jacket top. The 3-Piece So Soft Lounge Set comes in a wide range of colors and size xx-small to x-large. The cami top runs a bit small, so consider sizing up on the set.

Soft Blanket

Cozy pajamas make great Christmas presents, but so do soft blankets. I know when my family gathers for Thanksgiving this week everyone will be fighting over this plush throw from Nordstrom. It also comes in six other great colors. I don’t think you ever have too many warm throws for your living spaces in the winter, so this plush throw would make a great gift.

Another great soft, cozy gift is fuzzy socks. My holiday socks above sold out before I could share them. But I also got these Nordstrom butter crew socks and I can tell you they are even softer and yummier. Plus you or the recipient of the socks would have to feel weird about wearing them after the holidays.

Once you have everything soft needed for a cozy winter morning in, you just need something strong and delicious to get the morning going. We’ve been enjoying the Nordstrom Holiday blend fair trade organic whole bean coffee. I light my favorite candle and we settle in for devotionals and conversation.

Blessed for My Day

I’ll confess, I get anxious sometimes. Lately I’ve had a lot of close deadlines, as in one deadline on top of another on top of another. I definitely get anxious when I don’t have a lot of white space on my work calendar. I mean, it’s a blessing to have so many assignments and opportunities. But the work load definitely increases with them. And I want to do a good job for those sponsors and, really more importantly, for you, my readers. So I definitely get a little anxious over the time crunch, the responses, the work load, etc. I bet you have some stressors in your life right now, too. We all do.

One of the keys to dealing with stressful situations so that they don’t cause anxiety is to remember that the Lord is near. I don’t have to ask Him to please come here. I don’t have to seek Him out. I can trust that He is near and He is at work in my midst. That’s very comforting when we realize that much of our stress is caused when we feel that we are not enough. Truth is, we’re not enough. But He is. And He provides everything we need…plus His very presence. Amen.

The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. ~ Philippians 4:5b-7

xoxo, Kay

  1. Hi! I am looking for a robe. What size are you wearing? I am 5 9 and 140 pounds. I was thinking a medium. Thanks!

  2. I know what you mean about being anxious. Know that we understand that things happen and you have to skip some days of doing the blog. I hope you feel like that is okay and we understand (those who don’t are perhaps wounded in some way?). Perhaps if the people you hired work out, they could create some posts to give you a break. I don’t know how you do it! I hope you enjoy it and your helpers will help you not get overwhelmed. I love your posts:)
