When I asked readers who you’ll be shopping for this Christmas, the biggest requests I got were for what to give our women friends. So I’m so pleased to share with you my suggestions for what to give our friends. These are reasonably priced items that are thoughtful and sweet. That’s not to say that all of them are under $10. They’re not. But depending on who you’re shopping for and how much you like to spend, I think you’ll find something here for all the friends on your list.
These are gifts I personally love and hand-selected. I love my sweet assistants, but they’re in their 20s. And I wanted you to have a list of ideas chosen from an over-50 woman. These are gifts my friends have given me and that I’ve given them.
Be sure to check out all of my Christmas Gift Guides for others on your list. You’ll always find them in the Gift Guide2023 tab in the top menu of my blog, too. And I have a whole collection of gift guides in my LTK Shop, too.

Oh So Feminine!
I've mentioned before that I'm generally not one to give makeup to other women. Then again, if you can find the right gift set for the woman who loves such things, these make perfect presents. And a couple of years ago, the Spongelle bath sponges were my biggest seller at Christmas. I've gathered things like lip plumping glosses, lip masks and hand cream here. And you could even split up those Maracuja Juicy Lip sets and give one or two to each friend.
Be sure to use code kay15 at Tarte for 15% off (unless they already have another deal going). Use code KAY15 at City Beauty for 15% off anytime. And BK Beauty will stack my code kay10 on top of any deals to give you an additional 10% off.
I doubt many of us give our women friends clothes either. But it's perfectly fine to give them "a little something" to wear. You know I love giving Bombas socks. Don't forget to use code DRESSED20 for 20% off your first order.
I love anything from RiflePaper, so you'll see a few gifts listed here. But really anything from their pretty prints will be appreciated. And I suggest splitting up that set of six dryer balls and giving three to each of two friends. I tumble my clothes with three of them and love the results.
One of my favorite gifts that I've given my women friends in the past is a set of "gas gloves." Put a small hand sanitizer and a small hand lotion inside a set of inexpensive gloves. Attach little note that tells your friend to keep them in her glove box of her car for those cold winter days when she has to get out and pump her gas. She'll thank you over and over!
Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city in Galilee named Nazareth,to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the descendants of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. And coming in, he said to her, “Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you.”But she was very perplexed at this statement, and was pondering what kind of greeting this was. ~ Luke 1:26-28
Some really good gift ideas here, Kay. Thank you so much. I also really enjoyed your 4 outfits live Instagram on Thurs! My first time to tune in.
You asked for suggestions for outings for which you could propose outfits. What a fun prospect! Here are some things on my calendar for Nov/Dec: College football and basketball games. Christmas shopping in Charleston. Candlelight tour at the Biltmore House (cold weather, in and then out of doors), Asheville, NC. Upscale dinner and touring the finalists of the National Gingerbread House Competition at a resort hotel (Grove Park Inn, also in Asheville). Performance of Handel’s Messiah at a college (festive casual). Going to friends’ home for casual holiday dinner. Christmassy dinner w church leadership at the church, festive casual. Looking at Christmas lights w friends (mostly in the car). Christmas Eve service and dinner out at a nice restaurant.
Thanks for helping me get focused on the holidays!
Wow! Those are such fun things, Lael. I’ve been to the Biltmore at Christmas; it was just lovely. And I love the Grove Park Inn, too. I’ll certainly take some of these into consideration as I’m planning my content. Thanks so much for sharing.
Your gift guides are very helpful, and I am happy to have them early in the season. I usually like to shop in person in stores this time of year, so festive and get ideas from displays, but I am doing all my shopping on line this year as I recover from hip replacement surgery. How about a guide for clothing for teenage girls, ages 15-19? Most of us have nieces, granddaughters, or other special women in our lives we would like to buy for. Thinking of basic quality pieces like blazers, skirts, pants, nice tops. Thank you.
