One of my favorite parts of being a blogger and YouTube creator is having the opportunities to discover new brands, try their offerings and pass my findings on to you. Recently Walker & Wade offered to send me several of their beautiful resort worthy dresses in exchange for a post on Instagram. I posted that reel yesterday. But after wearing these “beach to table” dresses for just a few minutes I knew I needed to share this stellar brand’s resort wear with my blog readers, too.

If you’re a regular reader you know that I generally have a rather modern, classic style. I wear outfits with minimal color, simple lines and subtle styling. But when I go on vacation, I like to reinvent myself a little. I think a beach or tropical getaway especially presents an opportunity to wear a vacation wardrobe that is decidedly more colorful, exotic and playful.
Walker & Wade creates dresses and other resort wear that definitely feels special, celebrative and fun. And many of their pieces also offer a bit of sexiness and femininity, too.
I love that Walker & Wade is a woman-founded and operated small business based in Greenwich, Connecticut, that sources its products from responsible sources in Bali, Indonesia. In fact, the majority of their tailors do beadwork and sewing from their homes, allowing them to be close to their children throughout the day. Walker & Wade utilizes a cut-to-order process, cutting down on waste and overage, and they focus their inventory on natural fabrics.
But their dresses also reflect their philosophy of “barefoot luxury,” which makes them the perfect garments to pack for that tropical or resort getaway. The dresses all arrive in lovely reusable waterproof bags that you can take along with you to put damp swimsuits in before repacking. And many of the luxuriously soft dresses can be worn multiple ways, as demonstrated on their beautiful website.
I ordered the Athena kaftan (shown at the top of the post), the Exuma kaftan in blue toucan and, for something a little more “everyday-ish,” the Kelsey dress in flamingo, but it was really hard to narrow my choices down. They have such a variety to choose from at Walker & Wade.
So whether you prefer shorter dresses and coverups or even two piece combinations, you’ll find something that will make you feel special and pretty on your vacation. And these are definitely well-made and timeless dresses that you can enjoy wearing on vacations for years to come. I’ve collected more of my favorites in a shopping widget at the bottom of this post, but I suggest perusing their website if you have the time.
FIT INFORMATION: I suggest you use size guides at Walker & Wade to determine the best fit for each specific dress. And if you’re not in a hurry, you could use their customer service messaging system to get further help. But I can tell you that the Athena kaftan runs true to size (I’m wearing a M/L), the Exuma kaftan in blue toucan runs tight in the chest (according to a sizing expert) so I sized up to a Large comfortably, and the Kelsey dress runs true to size (I’m wearing a large, but would have preferred my TTS medium).
The swimsuit I’m wearing under my three Walker & Wade dresses is this one in pop pink. I’ll link some similar ones in the shopping widget below. But I’ll also get up my 2023 Swimsuit Guide in the next couple of weeks. My suit feels great on – very soft and easy to wear. I did size all the way up from an 8 to a 12, as I generally do due to my 5’8″ height.
Walker & Wade does ship worldwide, but, of course, those shipping costs do vary. They are also in over 100 small boutiques across the United States. So you could email them and ask if there is one near you. But I had great experience ordering from Walker & Wade and receiving my dresses in good time and order.
I do realize that Walker & Wade resort wear is on the more expensive side. But I can tell you that the fabric of all three of my dresses is luxurious and buttery soft. The dresses pack down beautifully and they are well-made. And I know I will wear mine for years. I probably wouldn’t have purchased all three on my own dime, but I do think one is a lovely investment, especially for a special vacation or celebration.
If you are on Pinterest or Facebook, I’d love for you to share the image below on either or both platforms. Thanks so much for sharing this beautiful resort wear with your friends and others who may be looking for it.

Blessed for My Day
When I take a closer look at some of the things going on in our world, it gets very disheartening. I feel angry and then worried and then scared and then sad. I guess you could say, it causes me to fret. But the Psalmist reminds us in Psalm 37:1-4 not to fret because evil abounds and wrong seems to win the day. Instead, we must trust the Lord and trust that He is not alarmed or discouraged.
Meanwhile, even though we live in a corrupt world, we must “live in the land.” We are called, as Image bearers, to mix and mingle with the world so that we can be an influence. But all the while we are also to “cultivate faithfulness.” That means we must stay faithful to God and His directives while we rub shoulders with a world that doesn’t acknowledge Him. And when we trust in the Lord, do the good we are called to do, live in a way that honors Him and make pleasing Him our greatest delight, then God will surely bless. Yes, there is a way to live in this crooked world and not fret.
Do not get upset because of evildoers,
Do not be envious of wrongdoers.
For they will wither quickly like the grass,
And decay like the green plants.
Trust in the Lord and do good;
Live in the land and cultivate faithfulness.
Delight yourself in the Lord;
And He will give you the desires of your heart. ~ Psalm 37:1-4
