Happy Friday! I’m thrilled to introduce to you the Clothed in Strength graphic tee. Pam, the owner of Sadie+Jane, invited me to collaborate with her in producing a graphic t-shirt that would especially speak to the Dressed for My Day community. The result? This chic, comfortable and versatile tank/tee. Today I’m sharing with you five ways to wear it.

Sadie+Jane is my favorite supplier of scripture tees, but they also carry a wide variety of jewelry and gifts. This Alabama based, mother and daughters small business has fast become a favorite of Dressed for My Day readers and viewers, too. I first introduced us to them in this post last August.
So when Pam reached out with the offer to collaborate on a garment, I jumped at the chance. Of course she’s the graphic artist, so I left the design work with her. I simply suggested that you and I might like a t-shirt we could easily wear under blazers, jackets and cardigans. Something between a t-shirt and a tank, so that bra straps are covered, but sleeves don’t bunch up under that completer piece. I suggested something classic, minimalist, but also a little elegant. And I requested that the graphic design be based on Proverbs 31:25.
I think that scripture aptly describes the heart of most women who gather here for style inspiration. We love to dress in a way that reflects the inner strength and dignity that comes through an abiding relationship with God. Many of us are women of faith, and we know that through Him all things are possible. In fact, when we are weak, He is our strength. So, while the future or even tomorrow may sometimes feel daunting and uncertain, we can joyfully face each day ahead…because He lives.
I am so pleased with the Clothed in Strength tee that Pam created. The graphic is beautiful and subtle, but the message is clear. I think that each time we put on this soft, stretchy, sleeveless tee we’ll be reminded to clothe ourselves in the strength of the Lord.
Possibly the most obvious way to wear this super soft, lightweight polyester/cotton blend tee is with joggers or other athleisure pants as I have above. The Clothed in Strength tee is an “antique denim” color, but I’ve found it works equally well with black, grey, blue, khaki or white. It really reads as a neutral. I’m wearing a grey cropped camisole under the Clothed in Strength tee above. This lightweight cami is a great option for spring and summer.
Another obvious pairing for the Clothed in Strength tee is a simple pair of shorts. I completed my summer outfit with sneakers and jewelry. My bracelet above and the one with the previous outfit are from Sadie+Jane, but they are no longer available. However, you can check out their jewelry selection here for similar options.
The Clothed in Strength tee runs true to size for a slim, close to the body fit. If you’d like a roomier fit I suggest sizing up. I’m wearing a medium. The shorts I’m wearing above also run true to size and come in several nice neutral colors. I’m wearing an 8.
For our third outfit I’ve topped the Clothed in Strength tee with a linen button up shirt and worn the duo over classic denim shorts. But you could wear this button shirt/tee combo with jeans, other shorts or casual chinos, too. Remember, I specifically requested Pam create a sleeveless tee so that we could layer it under things with ease and comfort.
These denim shorts feature a nice 6″ inseam, exactly where I prefer my shorts to hit. But they do also have a longer denim short and a similar 6″ inseam white jeans short, too. But I love the combination of blues in this third outfit. The linen shirt doesn’t add heat or bulk, but it helps pull this casual outfit together nicely.
You can easily wear the Clothed in Strength tee with white jeans, shorts or pants of any kind. To illustrate, I wore my Clothed in Strength tee with my wide leg button fly white jeans. They’re such a lightweight denim that they really read and feel more like casual white pants. But here are some somewhat similar white jeans at a lower price point.
I think a denim jacket is the perfect topper for this simple but effective combination. Even if it’s too warm to wear, you might like to drape it over your shoulders for a little interest. This is a perfect summer date night outfit in my book.
And my final way to wear the Clothed in Strength tee is with your favorite jeans and a casual blazer of your choice. Really so many different types of blazers would work here, but I figure you can never go wrong with a classic but oversized black blazer (similar). Finish off the outfit with sneakers or casual Tevas for a really sporty look. This is the kind of outfit I enjoy wearing to lunch with my friends.
Of course you absolutely could wear the Clothed in Strength tee for your workouts or power walks. But I hope you enjoyed seeing the five outfits I created with this Sadie+Jane tee. I’m so grateful to Pam for reaching out to me for this collaboration. Be sure to check out the tee on their website. The price is great! And look at the other great t-shirts, gifts and accessories they have there, too. You’ll find great gifts for graduates, birthdays and hostesses. Oh! And use code KAYHARMS for 10% off your order!
Blessed for My Day
As much as I love a beautifully put together outfit, there’s nothing more becoming on a woman than strength and dignity that come from knowing who she is to God and who He is to her. When we have a relationship with God and know his character – good, faithful, able, generous, just, gracious, loving – we are able to face each day with the assurance that we can rest in His love. We can face each crisis with a confidence rooted, not in our own ability or track record, but in the holy character of our God.
What about you? Are you clothed in that kind of strength today? If you realize that you are not able to face tomorrow with joy and courage, I invite you to get to know the God who can give you that kind of stability. Begin by reading the book of John in the New Testament of the Bible. It’s a great place to meet the One who loves you more than anything.
Strength and dignity are her clothing,
And she smiles at the future. ~ Proverbs 31:25
