One Final Simple Spring Outfit

We definitely have a few more weeks before summer officially begins. And many of my readers are just now beginning to enjoy springlike temperatures. But after I share a bonanza of a Spring Lookbook tomorrow, I’ll be turning my attention, for the most part, to getting us ready for summer. So let me quickly walk you through one final simple spring outfit before we change our focus.

Simple Spring Outfit
straight boyfriend chino pants // v-neck tee // denim jacket // espadrilles (more economical option and another) // gold drop earrings // watch (use code KAYHRMS for 15% off) // gold and silver pendant necklace // selection of Victoria Emerson boho cuffs // teal blue shoulder bag

In this simple spring outfit I’m wearing straight boyfriend chino pants in trending natural. Yes, this natural color is definitely the new white. Admittedly, it’s not quite as easy to pair with things, so I’m actually sharing a 5 Ways to Wear Natural Colored Jeans post next week. Everything I share there would work with these lightweight, modern silhouette chinos, too.

Simple Spring Outfit

By the way, these straight boyfriend chino pants run true to size. I’m wearing a 29 comfortably. They are supposed to have a slightly “slouchy” fit.

Chinos

I just happened to have these Eileen Fisher espadrilles in my closet from last year, and in this bone color they work perfectly with my chinos. These trending espadrilles are still available, but they’re also still rather pricey. These Eileen Fisher sandals at Nordstrom Rack are almost half the price. And here’s another nice option for even less. If you’re planning to wear natural colored jeans or pants this spring and summer, sandals in a similar shade might be a wise investment.

But let’s head back to the top of this simple spring outfit.

When it comes to wearing chinos I really do like to keep it simple. A classic v-neck tee and denim jacket work beautifully. I love the way purple or lavender work with denim blue. This vintage cotton v-neck t-shirt from J.Crew features a slightly cropped length, so it works well with higher waisted pants without having to tuck it in. It comes in a wide variety of colors and fits true to size.

Jean Jacket

Generally I completely ignore the silver buttons on my Levi’s Original Trucker Jean Jacket; I don’t try to match metals. But this time I decided to use them as an excuse to mix metals throughout my jewelry. I wore one dainty gold necklace (no longer available) and my gold drop earrings (also available in mixed metals) along with my mixed metals watch band (use code KAYHRMS for 15% off) and my gold and silver pendant necklace. Then I added a Victoria Emerson boho cuff for fun.

Blue Kate Spade Shoulder Bag

I have a feeling someone will want to know what polish I’m wearing on my fingernails. It’s OPI’s Girl Without Limits. I always wear the Infinite Shine base and topcoat along with the Infinite Shine polish.

Adding one more fun touch, I chose to carry my teal blue shoulder bag. I think these colors work beautifully together and that the natural colored chinos and espadrilles provide a nice backdrop for them. What do you think?

Simple Spring Outfit

I think this is a simple spring outfit for lunch out, running errands or visiting friends. And really everything here is so lightweight that it would work well into summer, too.

Thanks so much for dropping in today. I have a shopping widget for you at the bottom of the post. Have a lovely spring day!

Blessed for My Day

In Sunday’s sermon my husband reminded us that God has a plan for us…even before we are formed in our mother’s womb. And then he shared some scriptural truths about those plans. I found this fascinating and reassuring.

God always accomplishes His plans (Job 42:2). God’s plans always work together for our good (Romans 8:28). God’s plans are never under revision (Psalm 33:11). God’s plans have a higher purpose than ours (Isaiah 55:9). God’s plans should be the foundation for our plans (Proverbs 16:4). God’s plans are to be desired over our own plans (Proverbs 16:2).

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
And before you were born I consecrated you;
I have appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” ~ Jeremiah 1:5

  1. What a happy week. Praying for you and your family during this joyous week. Safe travels to all and good health. Enjoy!

    1. Thank you so much Cyndi. I must admit, I’ve got a little anxiety about some of the last minute details. The seamstress is late with the alterations. Abby picks up the dress Tuesday and I’m just hoping and praying that is done right. Then I think I will feel much better about everything and breathe a little easier.

  2. Happy nWedding Week Kay. Enjoy every moment with Abigail at this happy time. Safe travels and praying everyone stays healthy. Thank you for another great outfit.

  3. Cute, casual outfit. I bet you are so excited you can hardly think! Enjoy Abigail’s wedding.
Nice BFMD. Our minister did a sermon on Mothers and a tribute to them. Was very nice.
    Have a great week!

  4. Blessings to you all on Abigails wedding, and I know each cherished memory will be tucked in your hearts💕during this special wedding week, but especially on her big day!
    Can’t wait to see pics😍

  5. Thanks for showing a way to simply pull together an off white pair of pants. I so appreciate ideas on new trends. I take a while to warm up to them. I also wanted to wish you a happy wedding week. What a joyous time. We are having spring weather where I live. One day it’s warm and like today it’s snowing. Guess no light jacket for me today. Fortunately it’s not sticking. This is unusual for my area and I am struggling to be joyous about it.

  6. Blessings to you and your entire family on this wonderful week! Congratulations to Abigail and her wonderful parents! Enjoy this very special day!

  7. Have a safe uneventful journey. I know you and your family will have a wonderful time together. Have a Happy Joyful Week!
