Hello! And welcome to Dressed for My Day. Recently Lilysilk, a purveyor of high quality silk and cashmere products, reached out to me with an offer to introduce their product line to you. I ordered two beautiful Lilysilk blouses last year for the Christmas season, so I already knew that their products are luxurious but affordable and that their customer service is stellar. But I was thrilled with the offer because it gave me the opportunity to share with you five feminine wardrobe essentials that can elevate any look.

5 Feminine Wardrobe Essentials to Elevate Any Look

Simple Ways to Elevate Any Look

If you’re a regular around here, you know that I live a very casual lifestyle and I’m assuming most of my readers do, too. I live in jeans and trousers, simple dresses and, these days, joggers. But that doesn’t mean that our casual outfits have to look boring, frumpy or ho-hum. And it doesn’t take much to elevate a look.

By “elevate” I mean to add a little elegance, class, sophistication. Some might say it’s making the look more expensive. I guess I really prefer the word polish. I think even a simple outfit of jeans and a sweater can look polished with a little extra effort…and maybe one or more of these 5 feminine wardrobe essentials.

Blessed for My Day

Try as we may, some things just can’t be explained away. We want explanations, thinking that somehow if we just understood the why then we’d be better able to handle the hurt, the loss, the grief, the struggle. But the truth is, even if Jesus himself were to bend down and tell us why we must go through the things we contend with, we’d probably still bristle at His holy explanation.

But maybe if we can remember these few things we’ll walk forward with a little more courage, grace and resolve: God is good. God has a divine and eternal purpose for every pain He allows to come into our lives. God is always at work, working all things together for the good of those who love Him and who are called. There is a heaven and this is not it. This too shall pass. It really will. God loves me, but He also loves them. He is at work in my life, but also in the big picture.

As Jesus passed by, He saw a man who had been blind from birth. And His disciples asked Him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he would be born blind?” Jesus answered, “It was neither that this man sinned, nor his parents; but it was so that the works of God might be displayed in him.” ~ John 9:1-3
