Hi dear gals. I’m getting this post up a little late today due to moving situations. We had to prep our house for photos yesterday, and that turned out to be a massive undertaking. But we did it and we’re better off for it. So yay!
Today I’m sharing with you just a few outfits I tried on at Gap this past weekend. Gap has many summer items marked down up to 50%, plus you can get an extra 25% off your order with code SUNNY online only. You’ll get FREE SHIPPING with orders of $50 or more.
First off, I really liked what I saw at Gap. I hadn’t been into the store since early spring, but they have such classic looking shorts and simple dresses available right now. Plus they have chinos, wide leg crop pants, jeans and skirts I didn’t get around to trying.
First up, if you’re looking for some comfortable, but pretty summer dresses, Gap has a great selection. I found these to fit true to size and to hang nicely on the body.
This relaxed v-neck pocket tee dress is sooo comfortable. It’s constructed from a soft tri-blend jersey cloth that’s just a touch heavier than the next dress, but still lightweight and soft to the touch.
This easy-to-wear dress features a curved hem, short sleeves and a flattering v-neck. I’m wearing a medium and that’s what I would expect to wear in a dress that I want to fit loosely. It’s also available in petite sizes. Remember to use code SUNNY for an additional 25% off.
The second dress is just as comfortable, even prettier and significantly lower in price.
The grey dress is uber comfortable, but this one is just extremely comfortable. Ha! This one is simply made from a less comfy fabric blend. It’s 60% cotton, 40% modal. But this pretty dress also comes in a solid brushed blue or brushed red. This striped tee dress is available in petite and tall sizes, and it’s less than $20 before using code SUNNY.
I think both of these dresses are perfect for daily wear but perfect for travel. I especially like wearing dresses like these when taking car trips. I’ve added a couple of other options at great prices to the shopping widget below.
Shorts & Tees
I think Gap has some of the most comfortable and easy fitting shorts and tops around. And right now they’re at great discounts.
I’m wearing the 5″ inseam girlfriend chino shorts in a size 8, so they’re true to size. They do have some stretch to them, so they’ll probably grow just a tad with wear. The shorts are available in so many lovely shades and also come in petite and tall sizes.
Here I’m wearing the same 5″ girlfriend chino shorts in optic white. I’m wearing the vintage wash v-neck t-shirt in dark pink. I have on a size small. I own several of these soft t-shirts, but this color is rich and slimming. This t-shirt comes in so many great colors at various price points, but they’re all good buys. And of course, they’re available in tall and petite sizes, too.
I always feel like I’m trying on so many clothes, but in the end it was just these four outfits. Ha! But honestly, these are the styles I gravitate towards – soft, easy, classic and comfortable.
Let me know if you have any questions. And remember to use code SUNNY to calculate your final price on these sweets buys.

Blessed for My Day
Whether you run into a bump in your day or experience a true crisis, who do you reflexively turn to? To whom do you vent your frustrations, look to for empathy or reach out for provision? Quite honestly, I tend to first turn to someone with a voice I can hear, eyes that can look into mine with sympathy and a hand I can hold.
But often that just leads to frustration. The other person can’t give me their full attention or they don’t sympathize quite enough. Maybe they can’t drop everything and help me out to the extent I had hoped. As much as they love me, the people in my life sometimes disappoint me in my time of need.
God, on the other hand, never disappoints. He will always provide just what I need when I need it. I can learn to rest in His love, attention and provision. But only if I stop running to others first.
Put not your trust in princes,
in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation.
When his breath departs, he returns to the earth;
on that very day his plans perish.
Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,
whose hope is in the Lord his God,
who made heaven and earth,
the sea, and all that is in them,
who keeps faith forever;
who executes justice for the oppressed,
who gives food to the hungry. ~ Psalm 146:3-7
