Fall is fast approaching – even if it doesn’t feel like it outside – and the offerings at our favorite stores are beginning to reflect the transition. I’m not a fan of purchasing too many true fall pieces at this point, but it’s a good time to add just a few items to your closet that feel updated and fresh for this transition period…especially if the price is right. TODAY ONLY Chico’s is offering up to 40% off select pieces from their Fall Preview Collection. I’ve got just a couple of new Chico’s items to model for you, but I’ve rounded up more of the trending early fall new arrivals from Chico’s in a shopping widget, too.

How to Shop Here: To shop the items I feature, just click on the words in the captions of photos, the highlighted words in my text or the images in the shopping widgets I sometimes include. When you shop through my links I potentially earn a commission on your purchases, but at no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting my work here by shopping my links. Items that have been gifted to me by the associated brand are indicated with “c/o”.

Recently Chico’s offered me the opportunity to select a couple of items from their Fall Preview Collection to share with you. The collection wasn’t actually out yet and I had a limited selection to choose from. But I chose the dolman sleeve crewneck pullover sweater in cacao brown and the sea salt high-rise frayed jeans in natural seeded.

I’ve noticed that embellishment on jeans is a big trend again this year, and Chico’s is definitely a good source for souped up denim. The sea salt high-rise frayed jeans are a fresh addition to your transitional wardrobe that you can wear well into fall and beyond. They fit true to size (I’m wearing a 1.5 or misses 10) and they’re very comfortable. Keep in mind that I’m 5’8″ and they’re the perfect length for me with a flat. But the jeans do come in tall sizes, too. (This style is not available in petites, but many Chico’s options are.)

These weren’t included in the options I could choose from, but I saw the sage meadow No Iron jacquard shirt and the rose smoke No Iron feminine jacquard shirt in the store the other day, and either would look great with these jeans for a different look. I LOVE those prints.

I topped the jeans with a dolman sleeve crewneck pullover sweater in trending cacao brown. This simple but elevated pullover could also be paired with dressier pants or blue jeans for different looks. It fits true to size; I’m wearing a size 1 or misses medium (8-10).

I completed my Chico’s outfit with pieces from my closet, but Chico’s does have a nice selection of shoes and accessories in their New Arrivals, too. In fact their jewelry is currently buy one get one 50% off, and they have some gorgeous selections. I’ve included a few in my shopping widget below.

Blessed for My Day

In a day when most of us spend large amounts of time absorbing information and ideas from print and digital sources, it’s imperative to be vigilant about how those things influence us. If we do not have a reliable compass and a firm anchor, we are prone to drift with the tides of cultural thinking and the latest morality. Even subtle shifts in ideology and popular opinion can cause us to veer off course if we are not aware and cautious.

I’ve found that the best way to counter the pull of the world is to spend quantity and quality time seeking navigational guidance from God’s Word. The Bible is truth. It does not change and it’s wisdom is as sound today as it was when it was penned under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Let’s make sure we allow God’s Word to guide our words, attitudes and actions today.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. ~ Romans 12:2

  1. BFMD really spoke to me today. You look great in the outfit from Chico’s and the sandals too. Sandals look comfy. You are awesome!

  2. I like the outfit. It’s still shorts weather here but I will add darker colors next month. I’m glad I have linen pants in dark colors.
You’re so right about how we can easily get influenced by the culture if we don’t stay grounded in God’s word. I love that verse in Roman’s.

  3. My husband and I were just discussing this very thing! Our culture and ideals have greatly diverted from our true north, God’s perfect, unchanged Word! We must stand all as the tides shift and rage around us. Much like a lighthouse!

  4. Thank you for the inspirational message concluding your post. I believe in what you wrote. We need to seek the Lord! Again, thank you!☺️
