Happy Monday! Have you started wearing your white jeans yet? Of course, the antiquated rules about keeping your white pants in the closet until after Memorial Day no longer apply. But I know many women still prefer to wait until the weather warms a bit before wearing them. Today I’m solving that dilemma by pairing spring cashmere and white jeans.

I’ve noticed more cashmere in the stores for spring this year. And why not? This luxurious natural knit can be lightweight and perfect for the mild temperatures of this transitional season. (Remember, you can shop the items in this post by clicking on the words in the photo captions or the shopping widget at the bottom of the post.)

More than anything I wanted to share with you these high-rise, slim wide leg jeans. The have become fast favorites, with their 98% cotton/2% elastane, dense white denim and modern silhouette. They feature wide legs that are not too wide, and have a slimming fit in the waist and hips. The 10 3/4″ rise is flattering and comfortable on many body types.

The 27″ inseam on these ankle length jeans are perfect for my 5’8″ frame, but they also come in petite and tall sizes. I did find them to run rather large, so I sized down from my usual 30 to a 29. The white denim is such a nice thickness. The jeans really feel like premium denim, but the price is moderate.

First I’ve worn the slim wide leg jeans with a brushed cashmere short sleeve polo sweater in heather twilight blue, which is almost sold out. But this super soft cashmere polo also comes in a very pale sunflower sands yellow and a striking black and white stripe.

Don’t let the cropped length of this polo fool you. The length is plenty long over a high rise jean or pant. And it actually helps create those pleasing, optimal proportions.
Pro Tip: What exactly are the optimal proportions we strive for in fashion? The most aesthetically pleasing proportions visually are 1/3 to 2/3. So if you’re wearing pants or a skirt, you want the distance from your visual waistband to the top of your shirt to be 1/3 of your outfit and the distance from the waistband to the bottom of your pants or skirt to take up the other 2/3 of the picture. That’s why it’s important to define the waist in your outfit.

In my second spring cashmere and white jeans outfit for spring, I’m wearing a cashmere t-shirt from Quince. This beautiful Mongolian cashmere tee is in the color oatmeal, but it comes in over a dozen other colors, some of which are on pre-order for an April delivery.

This reasonably priced cashmere tee runs true to size for a slim fit, but I sized up to a large for a slightly roomier fit. It’s not especially long, but I did give it a front tuck and added a belt for visual interest.
Pro Tip: Controlling the contrast in intensity is one of the easiest and smartest ways to create outfits that work best uniquely for you. If the contrast in the intensity of your eyes, hair and skin is high, you may look best in outfits that also feature high contrast in intensity (like my first outfit). But if the contrast in your physical features is low (as mine is) you might look better in outfits that also have low contrast in intensity between the different elements. With both outfits I’ve worn cognac accessories and simple but impactful gold jewelry. I love the combination of cognac or saddle leather with white for spring and summer.

I failed to show an example here, but the ideal completer piece for this type of spring cashmere and white jeans outfit, in my opinion, is a blue denim jacket. Such a sharp and easy combination. I’ve also enjoyed wearing this long sleeve, lightweight cashmere sweater in grass green this spring with my white and blue jeans. What about you? Have you worn spring cashmere sweaters this year?

The Holy Trinity is one of those mysteries about God that we can’t quite wrap our brains around, but it’s so important to recognize and know the triune God. Through the Lord Jesus Christ, He has shown us the depth of His grace towards us. While we were yet sinners God sent Jesus to die for our sins. That is pure grace. And it is realized through a saving relationship with Jesus.
But it was the love of Father God that sent that gift to us. “For God so loved the world that He sent His Son…” The Father continues to show us His love through daily provision and blessings. And the Holy Spirit is the abiding presence of God in our lives. Aren’t you so thankful that you have the Holy Spirit within you as a believer, so that you can hear His voice, feel His power and know His constant presence in your life? Praise God: Father, Son and Holy Ghost!
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. ~ 2 Corinthians 13:14

Yes please, more videos on contrast level. This topic really interests me and I’m also wondering if your contrast level would change with age or if you colour your hair to a level quite different than your original colour.
Love Quince cashmere!
Yes I think we definitely need another video please. I still have a problem understanding it. I have hazel eyes, light brown hair, light to medium skin tone. I don’t know what intensity I am! Ha ! I’ve watched the videos and listened to you explain it several times but I still don’t quite get it. Thank you, Laurie
Kay, I’m going to check out those slim-wide white jeans, thanks for the tip! And yes, I am ready for you to do a video demonstrating how to put together spring and summer outfits!
I haven’t worn my spring cashmere yet. I have a Quince lavender v neck one and a fushia turtleneck one and an aqua one (in addition to my neutrals.) I just snagged 2 more of their cashmere sweaters on their flash one day sale. Bought 2 for $25 each. I added a black Vneck one (already had a black turtleneck one) and an oatmeal v neck one. I just love their cashmere and couldn’t believe the price. Most of the time I wear a very thin layer underneath so I rarely have to wash my cashmere. Haven’t had any issue with pilling either. I have used my cashmere brush a time or two though.
Love your outfit with the white jeans and cognac accessories. Going to replicate that outfit soon.
Beautiful tops. I love my white jeans in the spring.
Yes!
I would love to see a video of warm weather outfits. Our daily temperatures are in the low 80’s.
The video would be enjoyed; a good idea. The sweater blue is pretty, but leaning towards looking skimpy. 20” is 20” even with high rise pants. I would constantly be pulling it down when I move.
I always hesitate to wear white jeans/pants anytime of the year. I feel like it draws attention to my “less than thin” thighs. Any thoughts on how to get past this thinking? I have tried wearing a size larger than normal, per your advice here. Is it just me or does anyone else have this ‘fear’ of white pants?
Barb, I used to in the past when I was younger. I carry most of my weight in the thighs even though I’m not a pear. I decided to just try them a couple of years ago. I like them now. I do size up. Now if I don’t wear them it’s because I’m afraid they’ll get dirty. I would start out buying an inexpensive pair to see if you can be comfortable in there.
I also have issues with white pants. I now have several pair. My white linen pants are loose enough to cause no problems. My ankle-length pair are heavy denim and loose through the hip and thigh. I often wear a jacket with those. I think the heavier denim hides flaws better. I have a summer pair that have a lot of lycra in them and that’s my most problematic pair. I tend to wear a longer summer shirt with those. Not a tunic, but something with a long hem. And then I just look around me and I see that the younger generations seem more willing to embrace what they have without regard to what other people think about it and I try to take comfort in that.
Caron I really think your last point is the key. We need to take a note from the younger generations and be less body conscious. I do think there are ways to wear white jeans and pants more strategically. But bottomline (NO pun intended! Ha!), we’ve got to get more comfortable with our bodies and their unique (and beautiful!) shapes.
Me too, but also partly because I’m sure I’d stain them the first time I wore them !
These outfits are so my style. I love them both and they look fabulous on you.
Yes, please I am ready for a video on Spring and Summer outfits. I have an off-white short sleeve cashmere sweater but would like another in a Spring color. Enjoyed the BFMD. My minister at church is doing Walking with the Spirit Sunday mornings. Good topic.
I am ready to wear my white jeans! You look so pretty in the blue sweater.
Loved your style inspiration for today, Kay! And yes, I would also love an updated version on understanding contrast, finding our own and styling appropriately. I really struggle with the contrast thing! Thanks so much for all you do!
I enjoy these weekly updates. I commend you on the weight loss however you looked amazing even before. Personally, I thought the wide leg style would make me look frumpy however I’m liking them and it looks like they may be around for a while.
Thanks for sharing this post, Kay. I love the oatmeal sweater on you. I tend to shy away from light colored/white pants. I love the white pant look on other people, but as a pear shape, I feel like it is not the most flattering look on me. I see the pant is offered in other colors, though! Would love a video on contrasts. Thanks for all you do!
Thanks for the reassurance of wearing white jeans/pants year-round. I still struggle with the concept sometimes. But seeing you pair them with the cashmere makes total sense and you look stunning in the blue top and jeans. Great job on your weight loss; it really shows and I am impressed! As far as contrast, I was dubbed a “winter” years ago by Color Me Beautiful and even though my hair is salt and pepper gray now, I stick to those jewel tones, black and pure white and still works for me. Do you think contrast changes as one ages more? Would love your thoughts.
Yes, always look forward to your videos for inspiration for the new season. I have my lightweight cashmere ready to go, just waiting for milder days in the Midwest. I am considering trying this white ankle jean from JCrew. The higher waist appeals to my shape and being petite I like exposing my ankle. Thanks for spring inspiration!
Glad you took some time off! 😊 That restaurant looks soo good!
My sister lives in Fort Thomas Kentucky. Will have to check this place out next time we go. Cute outfits, I am still having issues with how short all the shirts and blouses are becoming. Just have to adjust but not really liking the trend. 😢
Thank you Kay
I love white jeans. I have some from MadewelI am wearing now. Though it has been in the 70’s here and soon 90’s.
I also love Quince. Their cashmere is wonderful and washable. I love all your videos.
Yes please do a spring and summer outfit demonstration! Love all outfits on you! I’m ready to pull out my white pants. Can you also recommend some spring and summer shoes too?
Thank you
Kay, the blue cashmere sweater is beautiful! I’m thankful high-rise jeans are more available now! Thanks for the inspiration!
Love love love that blue sweater!
I would LOVE a Spring/Summer fashion compilation! Also a new Spring makeup video for 2025 would also be awesome!! Love your videos and I have been watching all the YouTube videos from months and years past since I found your channel a month ago!!
I have a spring makeup video coming up this Wednesday!
I love white jeans and luckily I feel I can wear them year round since we winter in southern California. I love white with brights but my contrast is medium and I’m conscious of an outfit that looks boring, lacking life. I often add a third piece (color) hoping that helps.
Yes more videos on contrast. I’d like to know about silver/gray hair with light olive skin. The blue shirt is so pretty. Such a good color on you.
That blue cashmere polo is STUNNING.
Perfect timing for this post! I need to add a pair of white jeans to my spring summer wardrobe and those J Crew jeans look really nice. I appreciate good quality at a more moderate price as my clothing budget is not unlimited.
Yes, those are VERY GOOD jeans. I really prefer them over any other white jeans I have righ tnow.
Thumbs up for a new, fresh video for spring/summer
Need some help for comfortable stylish shoes that are WIDE….need some for church and longer length pants…. 32 in or so.
Also, what would you put with a bright blue jacket if you have low intensity?
One last thing…the AWAY luggage you had on in previous videos…have you ever tried the soft-sided luggage that they have? Your thoughts?
Thanks!
With a bright blue jacket I’d wear a same color top, preferably, or maybe black, depending on the jacket, for low contrast in intensity. Even if you wear white pants, at least you have low contrast near your face. I have not tried the AWAY soft-sided luggage, other than their Everywhere bags, which I do like.
Love the look of white jeans – I just don’t ever have the occasion to wear them. This pair is perfection.
Have a great week.
Very sharp, Kay! I don’t have many white bottoms in my wardrobe, but those that I do have are worn as the mood strikes me — regardless of the season! And I am a long time fan of polo sweaters and short sleeve crew neck sweaters in a natural fiber like cashmere because of its versatility. It breathes, and is therefore, comfortable, especially in transitional weather. The idea of the jeans jacket topper finishes the look! Way to go!
Regarding the video – I say go for it. Thanks again for all you do!
That blue polo is so beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
I have never owned a pair of white jeans but seeing them here makes me want to try a pair.
I wore my white jeans last Friday to a winery lunch. Styled them with a navy hip length light weaved sweater. My completer piece was a 3/4 navy with white polka dots front button coat. I have high contrast & very long legs (5’11”). I got several complements. Thank you, Kay for inspiring me to think about outfits that look good on my body type and my style esthetic.
Forgot to mention, all clothing was from Talbots. Some several years old but still classic!!
Love the cashmere shirt from Quince. Have one in my cart 😁 still deciding on white jeans. Such a great look for summer, but I tend to get stuff on anything white that I wear🤣 Oh well, I should just go for it. Thanks for these wonderful summer ideas.
I watched the intensity video. I think I get it but would tend a repeat. Love your white jeans. Both outfits look so nice.
Beautiful blue sweater, Kay. Today is our first day of being 70 in the PNW. Tomorrow we’re supposed to hit 75. I’m getting ready to get those white jeans out for sure.
I’m such a fan of the raw edge! Love the way you styled these – especially with cognac.
I wore my white jeans last Sunday with a green striped blouse and an oatmeal blazer.
Shoes, belt and purse were a tan color close to the jacket color. I’m so happy to be wearing spring clothes. Thanks for your suggestions.
I think it’s time for you to do a video for spring
I appreciate the simplicity of these outfits. I do not have any short sleeved cashmere in my closet but I’m considering it.
Wearing white jeans today during a quick trip to warm Texas. Looking forward to wearing my Talbot’s Audrey cashmere sweaters now that it’s warming up in my new home state of Colorado. They will look great with white jeans!
Hi Kay.
I really like to wear white jeans/slacks. If I am a medium contrast, then can you give examples of colors that go with the white pants? I’m a cool skin tone and I am growing out the light brown coloring in my gray hair. Thank you.
I am glad, like you, that I know Jesus is in me and I am in him. It is a wonderful gift that God has given the Holy Spirit to help us in so many various ways. Recently, I’ve been in contact with a family member who I would love to come to accept the gift of God’s son for their self. It was so helpful to have direction from the Holy Spirit for what to say as I witnessed in my emails to their questions and comments. I could not have done it without Christ in me guiding me by his Holy Spirit.
No white jeans yet here in Philadelphia, PA, for me, but I am starting to wear gray and tan! Still too cold for me to wear anything with short sleeves or go without my knee socks yet!
Dear Kay, This article has moved me so much closer towards trying white jeans! Im not quite there yet, but im definitely looking at options on line for that perfect pair. And i agree that a denim jacket would be a good completer piece. Thanks so much.❤️
Beautiful spring outfits, Kay, and so simple. I love short-sleeved cashmere sweaters for milder weather.
You are the first person to introduce the idea of levels of intensity. It really added to my fashion knowledge base. Would you be willing to share your inseam length? I have so much trouble finding pants in my inseam as often it’s not listed on websites. I really enjoy all your content.
Thank you for modeling cognac with outfits. The rich cognac color really seems to elevate the outfit as a whole. You’ve inspired me to try this. My VB cognac sandals arrived today and I am eager to try them with my jeans!
