Welcome to Dressed for My Day! In yesterday’s post I detailed all of the wardrobe essentials a modern gal needs for fall. But in today’s YouTube video I’m sharing my favorite fall wardrobe essentials. Yes, I’m opening up my closet and showing you the pieces I love and wear on repeat.

Several readers shared yesterday that they already have everything they need for fall in their closet. Truthfully, I had most everything I needed, too. That’s because I’ve worked hard to purchase pieces in the past that I absolutely love, pieces that fit well and things that are classic and high enough quality to endure for at least several seasons.

So I’m eager to share those good quality garments with you today. So many of them are still available. And while a couple of them are on the pricey side, most are not. They’re very reasonable for the quality they provide.

Well, what are we waiting for? Let’s watch the video! Meet me back here and I’ll provide links to everything I share in shopping widget below. And I’ll provide more reasonably priced substitutes for the selections that are more expensive.

All of the Fall Wardrobe Essentials

I thought you might like to see a graphic of all the wardrobe essentials in my fall wardrobe. Obviously others could be added as we move toward cooler weather. Specifically, I’ll begin pulling out more of my pullover sweaters and cardigans. But these are enough pieces to carry me through the transitional weeks.

My favorite Fall Wardrobe Essentials

There are a few items pictured above that are not the actual item in my closet. I just couldn’t get photos of those. But I think there’s only three of those: I substituted different pictures for the Talbots denim jeggings, the Talbots cotton bateau neck tee and the J.Jill pullover sweater (which is also not in the shopping widget below).

What I’ll be Adding to the Essentials

In next week’s video I’ll be introducing my fall transitional capsule wardrobe. These are the “interesting and unique” pieces I’ll use with the wardrobe essentials to create outfits during the early fall and then on into winter. That’s where the color comes in!

You’ll probably start seeing some of those pieces even earlier (in fact, you’ve probably already seen some of them!). But I’m collaborating with another YouTuber next Thursday to introduce the capsule, so I’ll wait until then to share more.

Now let me get you that shopping widget I promised.

Blessed for My Day

I don’t know if Jesus really was a man of few words or not, but we certainly don’t have many words from Him in the Bible. When you consider the overlap in the four gospels, we have shockingly few words from our Savior. That’s why I decided to go through the book of John and spend some time on each and every things He said.

Just as we have few words of Jesus’ total, we also discover they He frequently spoke with few and direct words. “Follow me.” That’s what He said to Philip. And that’s what He requests of us. Simply to follow. Lord, may we be good followers today. Teach us in our hearts what it means to follow You well.

The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, “Follow me.” ~ John 1:43

Spread the love
xoxo, Kay

  1. I’m enjoying your blog. I’m not buying anything til I see if I can go places due to vivid in fall. Where in GA are you going. I live in Savannah.

    1. Hi Mary. I’m so glad you are enjoying the blog. I’m going to the Atlanta area to visit family mostly. That’s where I’m from originally. I’ll also be spending a little time on Lake Sinclair.

  2. Thanks for a well thought out and informative piece today. You always give out valuable suggestions. I live in Florida it’s still pretty warm here but I’m anxious to transition to Fall my favorite season.

  3. Raining in N Texas today, so a perfect day to think of Fall clothes! Although, we will have several more weeks of steamy, hot weather once these storms pass. I am looking to add a good jean jacket to my fall wardrobe. No other needs for me at this time! Love your blog, you fashion sense is spot on and your Blessed for My Day always inspires me! Have a blessed day!

  4. I love your blog and videos. Your faith in the Lord and your warmth make your blog a wonderful place to go each day!
I have a question about the Nic and Zoe pants. Do they look appropriate from the back if you wear a top that does not cover your backside? They look like they might be clingy, like a legging. Thank you!

    1. Hi Julie. Yes, they look great from the rear. No need to cover. They’re not like leggings. They’re a stiffer fabric but very comfortable. They do fit me close to the body, but you see no panty lines or anything else. Ha! I wear my true size 8.
