The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale will be wrapping up this coming Sunday, so I thought I’d share one last post with my favorite purchases from the sale. As I gathered up everything I had ordered, returned and kept (so far), I was a little surprised at how this sale wound up for me. For instance, I didn’t get a blazer. I almost always get a blazer in the #NSale. And I would be very disappointed except I found so many other great things that I’m thrilled with. I can’t wait to share with you my favorite purchases! And most of them are still available.

My NSale 2022 Favorite Purchases

Honestly, I guess I don’t really need another blazer. I have plenty for my very casual, work-from-home lifestyle. So I think somewhere in the midst of the sale I began to shop for my real lifestyle rather than the one I dream of. Ha! You know I preach that all the time, but I struggle with this principle as much as many of you do. Anyhow I did purchase a number of elevated pieces that will add a punch to my wardrobe without getting all dressed up.

I did end up finding some great jeans in the sale. And I think I may have almost everything I need for the fall denim-wise. I’m definitely keeping the items in the graphic below. These are some of my very favorite pieces, including those Paige Laurel Canyon flare jeans. They fit and feel great, they’re a nice length for me (even with heels) and they have a trending chewed hem. I realize not every woman likes that hemline, but for my very casual lifestyle I think they’re perfect.

Several of my Top 7 Favorites, shown above, are indeed pricey. But that’s how I prefer to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, spending my budget on premium items that will add a bang to my wardrobe and that would be out of my reach otherwise. So I settled on the Paige Robbie studded clogs (size up .5) above instead of either of the other two pairs I ordered (Free People clogs or Naturalizer clogs) because they truly feel that much better on my feet. However, it was a close race because the Naturalizers are great shoes, too. The Allsaints Odette East/West leather tote is just so different from other totes and the camel Nordstrom Signature cashmere v-neck sweater fills a hole in my wardrobe that I’ve been trying to address.

But the other items in the graphic above are really great deals. I’ve already been wearing the Argento Vivo Herringbone chain necklace on repeat. It looks and feels much more expensive than it is. And the dark brown Kendra Scott Camry drop earrings will work so nicely this fall. The Treasure & Bond faux leather jacket was a BIG surprise. I think it will be so versatile and fun to wear this fall.

Here are a few more of my favorite purchases in the #NSale 2022.

My NSale 2022 Favorite Purchases
Paige Cindy high waist straight leg jeans // Argento Vivo molten pendant necklace // Lauren by Ralph Lauren faux leather trim wool blend coat // Madewell perfect leather belt // Open Edit Kyla flat mules // Vince wool & cashmere rib tunic // Necessaire body wash & body lotion

The Paige Cindy high waist straight leg jeans are probably my favorite denim purchase simply because I think I’ll be wearing these the most. They are comfortable and have a slim straight fit. You can see me wearing them a little further down. The chocolate brown faux leather trim wool blend coat by Lauren Ralph Lauren did not disappoint. It fits beautifully in my usual coat size, 10. And it also comes in black. The Madewell perfect leather belt and Open Edit Kyla flat mules are accessories with some personality.

And the Vince wool & cashmere rib tunic has such a lovely body-skimming silhouette. I found several great sweaters in the #NSale 2022, in fact. I generally prefer to wait until fall to buy sweaters, but these actually checked boxes in my personal shopping wish list. So I decided to keep them.

Another favorite not included in the graphic but shown above is the Nordstrom Signature cashmere cable knit crewneck sweater in purple mesa. It really is more of a pink to me. I’m surprised this cashmere cable knit is still available in so many sizes, but I do think it entered the sale late for some reason. I’m wearing it above with the Paige Cindy high waist straight leg jeans. I like the slightly cropped length of this sweater. I’m wearing a small very comfortably.

And here’s one more set of favorites. These are purchases I know I plan to keep. I’m sharing more favorites in the shopping widget below, but I’m not sure which ones I’m keeping and which I’m returning. My budget does indeed require that I make more returns!

My NSale 2022 Favorite Purchases
Joe’s the Mia high waist raw hem flare jeans // Frame shunken fit silk blend cardigan // Vacay 20-inch spinner luggage // Jo Malone cologne collection set // Blondo Irina waterproof boots // Clare Vivier perforated suede foldover clutch // Kendra Scott Camry drop earrings

The Joe’s the Mia high waist raw hem flare jeans are another surprise find. So many of the jeans with this silhouette have no stretch at all, and I just can’t go there. But these flare jeans by Joe’s have just enough stretch to be comfortable. In fact, they feel great on! Not to offend, but I think they must feel to me a bit like boxers feel on a man. Know what I mean? You can feel the breeze! Really quite freeing after years of wearing snug fitting jeans. I think I’m going to enjoy styling them this fall. But I can already tell you that I will mostly be wearing them with close fitting tops like the Frame shunken fit silk blend cardigan. That’s why I took a big gulp and decided to keep this sweater. But I do think the flare jeans look nice with a white shirt like I styled them below, too.

Let me swing back around and mention a few other things in that favorites collage above. When I first ordered the Vacay 20-inch spinner luggage above my order got cancelled because they ran out. But when they restocked I reordered and I’m so glad I did. This lightweight suitcase is so pretty, but also functional. I’d been wanting to try the Jo Malone scents, and the Jo Malone cologne collection set has been the perfect way to do that. It appears the Blondo Irina waterproof boots are sold out in the brown I got, but I’m sure the other colors are just as comfortable. And the Clare Vivier perforated suede foldover clutch is so unique. I’d been wanting a new versatile clutch, and this one fit the bill beautifully.

Everything in the shopping boutique below is something I ordered and am very, very pleased with. These are ALL favorites. I won’t be keeping all of these, but I do love them. If you have any questions about specific items I didn’t elaborate on, don’t hesitate to ask and I’ll respond as soon as possible.

Remember, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale ends this Sunday night. That’s when all of these great fall finds will go to full price.

By the way, on some of the items above the sale price is showing, while others are showing their full price. I couldn’t fix this, so click through for accurate information.

Blessed for My Day

Have you been dragging your feet to follow through with something you know God has called you to do? Maybe He’s prompting you to forgive an offender, invite a new friend, visit a hurting neighbor or share your blessings with someone in need. Sometimes we hesitate and hold back because we’re not sure that still small voice is God’s at all. But if that urging is in line with God’s Word, I can almost guarantee you it is indeed His Spirit pushing you forward.

When we delay obeying God’s call, we miss out on His blessings. We also may cause someone else to miss out on a blessing, or at least we cause them to have to wait. Your obedience could be the answer to someone else’s prayer! So if God is nudging you in a certain direction, stop waiting. Move forward. You’ll receive a blessing and someone else may also.

I hasten and do not delay to keep your commandments. ~ Psalm 119:60

  1. Hi Kay,
For your Open Edit fitted cotton poplin button-up shirt, did you purchase your regular size or find you needed to size up? Thank you for such a fun post!

  2. So excited I was able to order the Open Edit Kyla Flat Mule in my size, in the blue. Love everything you showed us so much, Kay. Sad to see the Ralph Lauren coat not available in my size but it’s definitely beautiful with the trim. Great finds as always, thank you so much!

    1. Hello Helen. I’m glad you were able to get the shoes. They had been sold out but I suspect returns have come in. So you might keep watching that coat through the weekend since the same thing could happen there. 😉

  3. Wondering did you keep any of the Steve Madden slip ons? I picked up a Calson leather jacket with a zip out hoodie. I love it. It was so hard to narrow down my choices. I kept saying to myself will I wear this in the lifestyle I have now. I get so taken my the beautiful clothes. I want it all but have to be realistic and buy pieces that I will get the most wear for the year and the next.

    1. Hi Cyndi. If you mean the mules, yes. I kept both pair. The light suede and the plaid. I’ve heard that jacket is great. Bravo!

  4. Kay,
You chose such a lovely array. The lug sole shoe/boots have been a no for me. Now that the flares are popular I may get a pair. So comfortable and the added height is a plus. And if jeans are a tad too long the shoe is perfect. No hemming.
Love the Lauren brown coat and wish I had seen it last fall when I purchased a black and a brown wool coat. They are for the bitter cold days of Michigan winters. The silk cardigan caught my eye too. It’s pricey so I may have to embrace my close-fitted knits with crew and v-necks. Sigh!
The pink handbags are a nice change. Mine is more like a tote and I received many compliments on it. Even while waiting in line to buy groceries!
I love clothes and enjoy your styling.

    Thanks for the post.
