The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2025 Preview is online and now is the time to fill your wish list with elevated basics that will make your fall wardrobe pop with style. Remember, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is not an end-of-season or clearance sale. The items they feature in this annual sale are mostly fall and winter new arrivals. So it’s fun to peruse the #NSale Preview even if you don’t plan to shop it. But I’ve spent hours and hours scouring the Preview and today I’m sharing my initial picks from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2024 Preview.

How to Shop Here: To shop the items I feature, just click on the words in the captions of photos, the highlighted words in my text or the images in the shopping widgets I sometimes include. When you shop through my links I potentially earn a commission on your purchases, but at no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting my work here by shopping my links. Items that have been gifted to me by the associated brand are indicated with “c/o”.
I’ve shopped the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale for years, and I definitely use this sale to begin building my fall and winter wardrobes with the new “it” colors and styles. So I’ve learned some really BIG secrets for shopping the sale smart, and I want to share those with you. If you haven’t already, be sure to sign up for my NSale Nsiders Newsletter, which includes those BIG tips, inspiration style boards from the sale, restock notices on popular items and even concierge service to help you find something in particular. (If you’re already one of my treasured email subscribers, you simply need to update the preferences at the bottom of your most recent email.)

Today I’m calling out the my initial picks in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2025 Preview. These ARE NOT all items I have in my wish list. I’ve looked at the sale with you in mind, too. These are items I’m personally excited to check out but I would also suggest a friend look at. So pretend we sitting together on my sofa with a cold drink and thumbing through the pages of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2025 Preview catalog.
Favorite Jackets in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2024 Preview
Perhaps my favorite thing to look for in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is a great jacket. In the past I’ve purchased beautiful leather jackets, blazers, utility jackets and athleisure style jackets in the sale. This year I had decided to look for a L’Agence blazer and, voila, there are indeed a few in the sale. But this Syrah red Jenna Tweed Blazer (shown below) is the one currently in my Wish List. The red brick LaFayette 148 New York cropped jacket below is swoon worthy, but out of my price range if I want to stay in my budget (and I do!).

As I looked through the jackets in the Sale, I noticed the return of the field jacket that was so popular last year, as well as more cropped length jackets, including bombers. I also saw a lot of suede and leather, as well as textured fabrics.
I do think that Veronica Beard really shines in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2025 Preview. They even have a great dickey blazer that includes a removable dickey. Wowsa! I’ve pulled more of my early favorites in the sale in the graphic above and in the shopping widget below. Scroll left to see more options. I do have selections in a full range of prices, but there is something for everyone.
Tops & Shirts Initial Picks
I still haven’t had a chance to look through all of the categories in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2025 Preview since I’ve been visiting with family this weekend in Georgia. But I’ll finish the whole sale today for sure. Meanwhile I’m sharing my initial picks in some of my favorite categories to shop. Even before the preview was up I made a list of things I was looking for (so I can shop smart and not foolishly). I already had a “pretty silk blouse” on my list. And there are several to choose from in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2025 Preview.

I’m very excited to see such a great offering from Frank & Eileen this year. They very rarely offer discounts, usually at just 15% when they do. So this is the perfect time to snag one of their popover Henleys or button-up shirts (they have two of each in the sale). I gathered more of my favorite tops and shirts below.
My Annual Beauty Purchases
Each year I purchase several beauty exclusives that they faithful bring back. I do think a couple of my “faithfuls” didn’t make it this year, but below you’ll see the beauty exclusives that are already in my wish list. These are such great deals!

These are all products I’ve been using for years and love. The Elemis Resurfacing Facial Wash two-pack will last me all year as my shower morning face wash. The Necessaire Body Wash is also very concentrated and last several months. I love it! The Lancome Difinicils Mascara duo has been my daily mascara for too many years to count and the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Cream keeps the wrinkles around my eyes to a minimum. I love washing my face nightly with the Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm; it’s truly a treat. That large size is a $120 value available for $89 just during the sale.
Women’s Shoes Initial Picks
I usually pick up a pair of running shoes as well as several other pairs of footwear in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, so I scout out the women’s shoes early. This year I believe this is one of the strong categories in the sale, with beautiful buys in sneakers, flats, heels and more.

Trends I’ve noticed perusing the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2025 Preview include the continuation of slingbacks and kitten heels, more silver, lots of suede and sporty low profile sneakers. I’m continuing to see Mary Jane-esque ballet flats, pumps and slingbacks. And I see a lot of tassels and other ornamentation on loafers. Already in my wish list are these Sam Edelman slingback pumps, block heel slides and these Paul Green loafers. But I may swap those out for these loafers.
Jewelry Initial Picks
Last year I purchased a beautiful piece of fine jewelry in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I find myself desiring to put more of my wardrobe budget here instead of in clothing these days. And the #NSale always has so many beautiful options of fine, semi fine and fashion jewelry. And I’d already put a watch on my “watch for” list, so I’m strongly considering this leather strap watch. You’ll find lovely options at every price point in the sale.

Jewelry trends to watch for include fresh water pearls, silver and gold combos, chunky earrings and statement necklaces, beautiful dainty 14k or 18k gold chains, and rope necklaces with pendants. Right now this 14K Gold Ball Bead Chain Necklace is in my wish list, but that could change. I tend to load up my wish list and then cull until I have met my budget.
Handbags & Luggage
I’m equally impressed with the offerings in handbags in this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2025 Preview. I love the options from Coach and Veronica Beard specifically, but since I have several of both already I’m personally leaning towards the Rebecca Minkoff suede shoulder bag. I’ve gathered other favorites below.

Even more than I’m impressed with the handbag selection, I’m pleased with the travel options. Not only do Beis and Tumi and other suitcase brands make their usual showing in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2025 Preview, but AWAY showed up this year. I love my AWAY luggage and recently ordered one more piece. And how fun is this sea green color? The pieces available in she sea green also come in a soft cloud grey. In case you’re wondering I have an AWAY 22-inch flex bigger spinner carryon and a 29″ suitcase.
Boots & Booties
I usually pick up a pair of booties and/or full length boots in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. This year the selection seems markedly smaller, but still noteworthy. I’m seeing a lot of suede, dark brown, navy and narrow shaft options (perfect for wearing under straight or wide leg jeans and pants).

I love the look of that Dolce Vita knee high boot above. Ornamentation on shoes and boots seems to be a big trend this year, and it’s one that won’t go out of style soon. I’ve got more great picks below.
Beauty Exclusives
Finally let’s talk beauty exclusives. I think this is always one of the stronger categories in the sale. I’ve pulled out a few of my favorites to share, besides those annual purchases I mentioned above. I recently purchased the first two I’m showing below and love them both. The T3 Afar travel size hairdryer is a high quality dryer in a more compact version. This is what I’m traveling with these days and I love it. I’m strongly considering purchasing the T3 SinglePass Smooth X straightener this year.

I also have the DERMAFLASH LUXE+ Advanced Sonic Dermaplaning & Peach Fuzz Removal Set above. I find that it gives me more manageability and a more thorough dermaplaning experience than the disposable option. It is pricey and you do have to buy replacement blades, but the price is good in the sale. I also use the Oribe Dry Texturing Spray duo (a recommendation from my hairdresser) to add texture to my hair. This product goes a long ways, so you might want to buy the set with someone and split it.

Blessed for My Day
How has God been helping you lately? He has helped me to see some things more clearly. I learned years ago that having wisdom is having God’s perspective. Remember, God sees the big picture, but He also sees the past more clearly than we do and He knows the future. So to see things from God’s perspective we truly have to seek that from Him.
But I’d love to hear how God is helping you. Maybe He has given you strength to face a difficult season or relationship or hurdle. Maybe He has comforted you in a time of loss or given you courage to face the unknown. Maybe He has blessed you with wonderful gifts or healing or restoration. God is so good to help us through every season of life.
For You have been my help,
And in the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy. ~ Psalm 63:7

I use the NAS to look for specific items for my wardrobe, to fill in certain needs. If I can find something, great, if not, no worries. This year my wish list is pretty small, as some of the items I need I have not found offered in the sale (yet). But I know they keep posting new items in the preview until the sale goes live.
Hi, I you have any connections at Nordstrom please ask them to add more petite sizes to the Nordy Sale – they only have jeans and a few pants in petites – no dresses, tops, sweaters – at 5’1” I can’t participate in clothes sale. A few tops that are short work, but selection limited – they even have a few XX sizes for larger ladies, but no petites 🙁
Hi Carole. I do understand the quandary. I do know many petite influencers and personal stylists who shop the sale successfully, so you might want to follow some of them including Stylish Sandy here https://stylishsandy.com/
Fun to see this first look/impression post. Glad you are enjoying your time with your family!
Hi Kay – these tips and suggestions are so helpful! I’m all cued up and ready to go. Fun fact: I just learned that you can share your wish list with a stylist (free consultation). You can have your N-Sale items shipped to store (if proximate), and make a styling appointment to help with decisions and outfitting (if desired) and fitting (always a challenge). Best of both worlds: shop online, get IRL advice and help. Also, from previous experience, I found stylists have the inside scoop on markdowns/values. They are motivated to sell “expiring” merchandise as much as new styles. Thought your community might want to know.
Hi Neva. I appreciate you sharing. I do work with a stylist for my in store shopping but I prefer to shop most of the sale online since the inventory is so much better that way. Also, if you work with a stylist and she is helpful to you I certainly want her to get a commission on your purchase, and she does earn a commission. But I did want to note that if you find my tips and posts helpful, shopping through my links allows me to earn a commission from your purchases. If you share your wish list with a stylist and have her place your order, I do not earn a commission on those sales; the stylist does. That’s perfectly fine, of course. But I just wanted you to be aware. Thanks so much for reading and sharing your thoughts.
