I hope you caught yesterday’s roundup of all my holiday looks because today I’m moving on! Starting today I’m posting mostly jeans and sweater combos for awhile. I know that many of you, like me, really live in your jeans and sweaters this time of year. So today I’m sharing a beautiful jeweled button raglan sleeve crewneck sweater that I’ve paired with my cranberry colored skinny jeans.
One of the keys to looking thinner in our clothes is to wear dark colors. That certainly doesn’t mean we have to do that every day. But pairing these dark cranberry skinny jeans with a black sweater and black booties definitely creates a longer, leaner silhouette.
I received this crewneck raglan sleeve sweater in my recent Trunk Club trunk. It’s a thick, chunky sweater, but still soft and easy to wear. I think it’s no longer available in the black, but there are still a few sizes available in the other shades, which differ between the two stores. I love the jeweled buttons on this sweater.
I’ve included some other raglan sleeved crewneck sweaters in the shopping widget below. Some of them are not as dressy as this one. But really you can wear this sweater anywhere, any time.
My cranberry skinny jeans are no longer available, but I can’t tell you how much I’ve enjoyed them. I have to make myself not put them on some days! I also like these colored skinny jeans in the red here or in the bay leaf and Merlot here. And they’re 40% off with code FRIENDS40.
I’m carrying this Mini Harper leather satchel in vintage Cabernet. It’s 40% off right now. Yes, it’s a tiny bag, but it has a nice weight and feel to it. Perfect for a date night.
My suede booties are no longer available, but I’ve provided links to several that are on sale right now in the shopping widget below. I love the look of skinny jeans with booties, but I almost paired them with my black driving moccasins. Either look would still be sophisticated and chic. Really the dark colors are the key to this look.

Blessed for My Day
The birth of Jesus is not just a sweet story. It’s the jaw-dropping twist in the ongoing saga of mankind that only the Author fully comprehended at the time. And what fine writing! The Author penned the tale with subtle nuances of lowing cattle and a humble manger, of startled sheep and stinky shepherds. Jesus came into this world inauspiciously, and was laid in a feeding trough following his first gulps of earth’s oxygen. Then a tired, ordinary, and poor mom and dad sat back and wondered, “What now?”
But as we celebrate Christmas this year, we don’t just commemorate this humble beginning. We breathe a sigh of relief because the King has come. The Father sent His Son to bring us to Him. And He has welcomed us with gracious arms spread wide…for all who will to come. Today let’s sing the songs about the manger and the silent night. But let’s not forget to marvel at the big picture, the larger meaning. Because of that holy night…we have a Father, a family, a home.
But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. ~ Galatians 4:4-5
