How I Really Dressed for My Day This Week

Happy Saturday! In case you noticed that I never showed up here Friday, take one guess where I was. Yes! We have a new granddaughter! She actually came on her due date, which seems very fitting since both of her parents are very punctual people. Hahaha! She’s just beautiful and everything went splendidly. Baby and mother are healthy and happy…just very tired! I’m not sharing a photo yet because I don’t have the parents’ permission. But trust me when I tell you she is just gorgeous. We’re over the moon.

Okay, it’s time to move on with my recent outfits of the day. Here’s what I wore for the past eight days.

How This Works

These are my real life outfits from my own closet. Many of these things are available, but some may not be. When I can locate one quickly I’ll share substitutes and/or more economical options. But if I don’t provide one and you’d like for me to, just ask.

All available items are linked in the captions of the photos. Even if they don’t look like links (sometimes they don’t highlight for some reason), they generally are. So just click through if you’re interested.

What I Wore Friday

You’ll actually see me wear this cozy athleisure outfit twice. Last Friday I wore it for a work from home day. I was wrapping up some blog/YouTube work and also working around the house a bit. So I put on my Vuori separates. So soft!

zip front hoodie ( or here) in mahogany heather // lounge pants (or here) in cocoa // cotton tee (limited sizing but other color options) // sneakers

I think I did size up in these Vuori separates to a large because they tend to run a little small. But this particular style of jogger runs a little roomier than their other silhouettes, so I might could have gone with the medium. Just wanted you know in case you consider them for yourself. But then again, I’d much rather my athleisure clothes be a little roomy than snug.

What I Wore Saturday

Saturday I worked on laundry and tidying up my office. Then I had errands to run before our church Christmas party that evening. I wore my red corduroy pants and

grey perfect turtleneck // red corduroy pants (I size up to 10 in cords) //  similar coat // shoes // necklace // earrings // bracelet

That evening I wanted to wear something festive to our church Christmas party. So I opted for my plaid Hampshire ankle pants and my red cashmere cardigan with the bejeweled buttons.

What I Wore Sunday

Sunday to church I decided to wear jeans, but wanted to top them with something festive. So I wore my iridescent blush blouse. I think it paired really nicely with grey.

blouse // jeans are old // boots // purse // coin necklace // earrings

Because the blouse is fairly short, I left it untucked. I like the effect with these bootcut jeans.

coat only in other colors // snood no longer available // jeans are old // boots // purse // earrings

What I Wore Monday

Monday we shot photos for this blog post, and I just ended up keeping on this super cozy loungwear set rest of the day.

loungwear set // house slippers (that work with my orthotics wonderfully)

While this is the only photo with my house slippers, I wear them most every day and all day when I’m home because they work beautifully with my orthotics. As long as I wear those a good bit each day, I can wear most anything I want when I go out.

What I Wore Tuesday

Tuesday we got out to take some more photos, but I also just worked at home. I’ve worked like a busy bee to get ready for this trip to meet our new grandbaby. Anyhow, when we returned from the photo shoot I put on these jeans and turtleneck for the day.

jeans // ribbed turtleneck // boots // necklace // earrings not available

Obviously that’s a pretty simple outfit, but you just can’t beat it for a casual winter day. I love the color combination. And those relaxed fit jeans are definitely some of my favorites.

What I Wore Wednesday

Wednesday James and I got out for a holiday lunch, just the two of us. We lingered over appetizer, salads, main courses, dessert and wine for two hours. I truly felt like the holidays had begun.

quilted jacket // cashmere sweater // scarf // corduroy midi skirt (also here) necklace  // earrings // boots // earrings

I had purchased this corduroy midi skirt (also here) a month or so ago and had it altered a little. I had the slit in the front reduced by a couple of inches, so obviously the slit is quite high when you purchase as is. Anyhow it is a lovely brown corduroy midi skirt, with nice stretch for comfort and a slim fit. I topped it with a cropped length cashmere sweater and wore my brown boots. I topped this elevated look with my quilted jacket which features a subtle animal print. I loved the end result.

What I Wore Thursday

Then Thursday we spent the morning packing and wrapping things up at the house before driving down to Georgia. We got in very late that night. So I was glad I had worn my athleisure outfit again. And yes, I washed it all before wearing it again. I plan to wear this A LOT while taking care of baby and mommy.

What I Wore Friday

Friday morning Andrew texted that they were headed to the hospital. The baby was coming! We couldn’t have asked for better timing. We were able to spend the day at the hospital serving them in any way we could while they worked toward getting the baby here. I wore my favorite jeans, plaid shirt and cardinal cardigan.

snow cardinals crewneck cardigan (TTS; wearing a misses medium) // vest // plaid cotton button-front shirt (TTS; wearing a misses medium) // straight high waist jeans (TTS; wearing a 8 misses) // Chelsea boots (TTS) // earrings //

I was able to top the outfit with just a red puffer vest because it was in the 50s most of the day. It was a long and tiring day with a glorious ending. We have little Hannah James here and we are thrilled.

Blessed for My Day

And Mary said,

My soul magnifies the Lord,
and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant.
    For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed;
for he who is mighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his name. ~ Luke 1:46-49
