I like to check out styles at Evereve occasionally to keep my taste modern. I can always count on them to have a variety of fashions that suit a wide assortment of personal styles, but their clothes and accessories are always current and even fashion forward. During my last visit to Evereve I found so many great transitional styles that I thought I’d share an Evereve pre-spring try-on session with you. Most of these are wear-now pieces that you can enjoy through the spring and maybe even the summer, depending on where you live.

How to Shop Here: To shop the items I feature, just click on the words in the captions of photos, the highlighted words in my text or the images in the shopping widgets I sometimes include. When you shop through my links I potentially earn a commission on your purchases, but at no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting my work here by shopping my links. Items that have been gifted to me by the associated brand are indicated with “c/o”.

Evereve rarely offers discounts, but they do occasionally mark things down storewide a very little bit for a day or two. This is not one of those days. Of course, they do have some clearance items marked down, and they’re always worth a look for fresh, modern styles. But I personally choose to look for pieces at Evereve that I just really love and know I’ll get good cost per wear on. Just a few items from this cutting edge store can help me keep my outfits more on trend.

Just so you’ll know: I’m 5’8″ and about 160 pounds. I have an hourglass shape and even proportions. I generally wear a size 10 misses or a medium, and that’s what I’m wearing in all of these photos. I carried along my neutral colored loafers to try on things with.

The Evereve Try-On Session

Bubble hems are a big trend for spring and summer. Sometimes they can look a little silly, but the subtle one on this cheerful blue hoodie is a winner. The hoodie fits true to size and is so comfy, soft. The bubble hemline gives it that tucked-in look, but you’ll want to wear it with high-rise jeans or pants.

hoodie // jeans (also available here and here in more sizes)

The Paige Anessa jeans are some of my absolute favorites. I own several pair, but I did purchase these ecru jeans for spring and summer. I have them in black and a couple of blue washes, and they always fit and feel great. These particular Anessa jeans have utility pockets for a fun switch. I size up to a 31 in these for a very comfortable, non-binding fit. These jeans are available HERE in more size options.

Below I’m wearing a Paige Anessa raw hem jean in a modern blue wash. With the Paige Anessa I appreciate the high rise (11 5/8″) and the slim wide leg (leg opening is 22 1/2″). Yes, premium denim is expensive, but it’s made in the USA and you are almost guaranteed a good fit because a lot of science goes into their production. The fabric is always the best and they’re engineered to truly fit your body. If you only need one or two pairs of denim in your closet and don’t mind wearing them on repeat, I think they are worth the investment.

the perfect long sleeve tee // raw hem jean (also available here and here)// light blue sweatshirt

By the way, a lot of premium denim brands are now carrying petite sizes. You’ll find Evereve’s selction of petite denim HERE. I have personal friends who are also professional stylists who wear these same styles beautifully, and they’re 5’1″ and 5’3″. Anthropologie also always has a wide selection of petite sized denim.

The perfect long sleeve tee above fits true to size; I’m wearing a medium. But you can see that it does have very long sleeves. Still, it’s a great choice for a very casual presentation.

The Ginny cardigan below was one of my favorite pieces in this try-on. I’d already ordered it and it is on the way. It fits true to size and is constructed from a super soft, dense 48% Viscose, 30% Polyester, 22% Nylon Ribbed Knit. I like the length, the slightly curved hemline, the color and the snap front closure. And I love the color; it’s a cooler cross between a camel and oatmeal. Lovely with white jeans or any other color.

cardigan // white barrel jeans // raw hem blue jean

Barrel jeans are SO on trend for spring and summer. And while you’ll see some that are extreme, they don’t have to be. The Evereve white barrel jeans above are subtle and a nice ankle length. They fit nicely true to size. You do need to be aware that they have minimal distressing, so they’re not a “clean” presentation. You can see an example on my thigh in the photo above.

Below I’m wearing the Good Waist palazzo crop jeans. Remember, the lighting is never great in these fitting rooms. So you’ll notice a bit of difference in the color of my jeans and those shown on the website, but they are the same jeans. I do think, however, that the true color is closer to what you see here. They fit true to size and I really like these for a casual choice that’s a little different.

roll neck sweater // palazzo crop jeans

I cam home with the roll neck sweater below. In fact, you’ll see it in tomorrow’s YouTube video. This French blue sweater is 100% cotton, so it’s a great choice to wear now and into the warmer months. It fits nicely true to size. I appreciate the rolled collar, the beautiful texture and the color of this sweater.

Paris tee // raw hem jean

I love having a fun graphic tee or two in my wardrobe to wear under denim jackets, blazers and other third pieces. They didn’t have the Paris tee above in a medium, so I tried it in a large. It’s a cute tee for sure, but it does run true to size and the large was too big.

So I tried the dog person tee, which is by the same brand, in a size medium to gage the fit. Sure enough, the medium worked nicely. These are soft, fun tees and they have some other options HERE.

dog person tee // phoenix cropped barn jacket // jeans

I’m wearing the phoenix cropped barn jacket above over the tee. This is a 100% cotton woven fabric, but it’s not denim. It’s more like a sweatshirt fabric and has a good bit of stretch in it because of the weave. I like the snap front, and I think it’s a fun option if you’re looking for an alternative to a stiffer denim jacket. It would be great for travel. It’s an Evereve exclusive and the price is reasonable.

The bold pink reverse fleece sweatshirt below is another fun option. It’s interesting with the reversed fleece on the sleeves. It fits true to size, but it’s a slimmer fit. The price is pretty sweet, too.

reverse fleece sweatshirt // raw hem jean // silver sneakers

Ooh! And let’s talk about those silver sneakers. They’re so on trend for spring and fall, but really in style for right now, too. These Gola silver sneakers fit nicely true to size if you’re going to wear a no-show sock inside. They’re just a tad roomy on the foot, but I did get some. However, I’ve also ordered these silver sneakers to compare them. I’m definitely keeping one or the other. I think they’re such a fun way to add a modern touch to your outfits.

phoenix cropped barn jacket // vintage barrel jean

Above I’ve just paired the phoenix cropped barn jacket and the vintage barrel jean I showed previously. I just wanted you to see that you can wear this fun jacket by itself, too. And I think it creates a nice silhouette with these vintage barrel jeans.

stripe pullover sweater // raw hem jean

The stripe pullover sweater is a nice nod to another fun trend for spring and summer: the color citron. I don’t think I care to wear a big swath of this “now color,” so I thought this cotton blend sweater with just a thin stripe encased in classic camel would be a good choice. I did indeed bring this one home and it’s in tomorrow’s video, too. Very comfortable and fun!

stripe pullover sweater // ankle jeans // wide leg raw hem jean (right)

Above I’m wearing the same stripe pullover sweater with two different pairs of jeans. They didn’t really have much in my size in the silhouette I was looking for, so I tried on a number of blue jeans in sizes I don’t really wear. But it turned out the AG ankle jeans on the left probably would be my right size. They’re a 30, so whereas I normally size up to a 31 in premium denim, I’d go true to size here. The only problem is this Mari has a mid-rise (9 3/4″) and I just don’t care for that fit. On the right is the AG Saige wide leg raw hem jean, but it’s a 32 and too large for me. The rise on this one is 10 1/4″, so it’s a little closer to the 11″ minimum I prefer, but still no cigar. BOTH of these are great jeans, however, and would work beautifully if you prefer that lower rise.

cardigan // jeans // silver sneakers

Above is just another look at three things I already showed, the Ginny cardigan (so versatile), the Paige Anessa utility jeans and the Gola silver sneakers. I think this is a fun outfit, something I’ll definitely enjoy wearing soon and later. I had already ordered all three of these before the try-on session, so I’m awaiting their arrival.

And that’s a wrap! I wish I could have shown you more, but, as often is the case, they had a very limited inventory in my size. I’ve also ordered this Paige Anessa jean in crispwhite, the Charlie straight leg jean by Pistola, the Good American Good Waist palazzo jean, this Evereve hoodie sweater, this Kit sporty stripe raglan sleeve tee, this orchid colored sweatshirt, these New Balance sneakers in linen and these Marcelle cargo pants from Citizens of Humanity. By no means will I be keeping all of those, of course. But I’ll share them in my LTK shop soon.

I’ve been reading a book about habits. I don’t think I have to tell you that the habits we practice have powerful effects in our lives, both good and bad, depending on the habit. But have you ever considered why these habits have such power in our lives? I think it all goes back to the biblical teaching of sowing and reaping.

In truth, we do indeed reap what we sow. Sometimes we don’t see the results immediately so – depending on the nature of the habit – we either give up because we think we’ll never see the results we desire or we continue on with a bad habit because we assume we’re “getting away with it.” But you and I have lived long enough to know that we do reap what we sow – later than we imagined and more than we had thought possible. Let’s be sure we’re sowing that which is good into our lives today.

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a person sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will reap destruction from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit.

xoxo, Kay

  1. All the styles today were so cute. I do find that when tops are 20.5 inches in length, they begin to be problematic . Just too short. This is a concern I hear from others too. Oh well, I love a good search. lol.

  2. I have decided to NOT buy any clothes until March as I have some Dr. appointments that I want to pay for. However, if I were to choose one thing you tried on today, it would be the striped sweater. The fluorescent green strip is engaging and interesting. Your looked perky and stand out in it!

  3. I agree that premium USA made clothing is the way to go. I just can’t pull the trigger on the high cost. so if I want to purchase just one pair of premium denim jeans, what would you suggest I try? I want to weed out all the inexpensive I don’t feel good when I wear it clothing from my closet. I have to start somewhere and I think jeans are the way to begin.

    1. Yes, I think jeans are a good place to start, too. It really depends on what rise and silhouette and length you want. So you might just want to look at their websites and get a feel for their offerings. Most indicate rise, inseam, leg opening and fabric content, all important markers. My three favorite brands are Paige , Mother and Frame.

  4. All the items are cute especially the Ginny cardigan. I do not care for the barrel jeans but getting used to slight flare ones.

  5. I always enjoy your try on photos. Please tell us about the raw hem look. Is it here to stay or a brief trend? I feel I am too old to wear it at age 75, but I strive to dress in modern attire. It also seems silly to pay for premium denim jeans without a hem!

    1. You’re not too old at all. The trend has been going strong for about three years now and I expect it will stick around quite a while, perhaps even indefinitely. It’s just so convenient. So if it resonates with you, definitely wear it. I am seeing more polished jean options with finished hems these days, but all of the premium brands show lots of raw hem options.

  6. Like the blue roll neck sweater. Like the BFMD. Galatians 6:7-8
We do reap what we sow. Good to remember this and not to mock God. Have a great week.
