Every few months as a new season draws closer, I begin perusing our favorite retailers’ websites to see what the new fashions will look like. I’m looking for the colors that dominate, the denim silhouettes that are repeated over and over, the accessories that seem to show up in every outfit they put together and the details that signal new trends. While I’m trying more than ever to be strategic about building my own spring wardrobe, I have begun shopping for items to style into inspirational outfits for you here and on my YouTube channel. I have a trip scheduled in early March to sunny Arizona to shoot photos of those outfits, so I have to order items over the next week and put those looks together soon. I thought today I’d give you a peek behind the scenes and share the early spring styles on my shopping radar.

How to Shop Here: To shop the items I feature, just click on the words in the captions of photos, the highlighted words in my text or the images in the shopping widgets I sometimes include. When you shop through my links I potentially earn a commission on your purchases, but at no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting my work here by shopping my links. Items that have been gifted to me by the associated brand are indicated with “c/o”.
In a couple of weeks – February 23-27 – I’ve scheduled Spring Fashion Trends Week 2026 here at the blog and on YouTube. But instead of building my trends reports based on other reports (that are based on last fall’s NYC Spring Fashion Week), I’m digging deep into the new spring lines that are rolling out in our favorite stores. I want to be able to tell you, not what models wore on the fashion week runways, but what you will have access to in the stores you shop.
Many of our favorite retailers will usher in their spring lines next week, so that’s very exciting. But we’re already seeing hints of what’s to come in a few places. And I’ve ordered a few things to begin setting some direction for my photo shoots. Here’s what I’ve noticed.
Early Spring Styles I’ve Shopped Already
I’m seeing a lot of various shades of red and blue, and I’ve noticed brands mixing those two favorites artfully in single garments and accessories. I’m loving the fresh vibes of these colors. They’re not necessarily patriotic pairings. What I’m seeing is more reminiscent of a folksy picnic, a country quilt, a cheerful prelude to summertime fun. Some of the pieces even look a little “childlike,” but not necessarily juvenile. We may have to be thoughtful about how we pair these primary colors, but I anticipate having fun with them.

Just yesterday I got in the striped button down shirt from Madewell above. The 100% cotton fabric is breezy and light, and the colors are lighthearted but familiar. I envision wearing it with white jeans and a denim jacket from my closet. I’ll add soft hued loafers and simple jewelry.
I’ve also noticed a plethora of items in a rich, deep camel. I understand that chocolate brown is sticking around, and it will pair beautifully with this camel cropped trench or this camel brocade jacket. But I’m also seeing that camel paired back to creamy ivory or crisp white, like these coconut cream trousers or this crisp paper white shirt.
But those aren’t the only colors or neutrals we’ll see this spring, of course. I’m seeing hints of bold, beautiful green, like this clover silk blouse and this green and white striped dress. And soft, pale pink is easing onto the scene, too, showing up so subtle in a polo collar sweater and a gauzy striped shirt, looking like a tinted whisper in t-shirts like this one and this one.
It looks like jean silhouettes are leaning toward straight, wide and barrel legs, but full length jeans will soon make room for ankle length styles. We’ll be choosing from light, mid and dark washes, and white jeans are definitely on the return, whereas last year ivory or ecru dominated.
I’m sharing a shopping boutique below with some of the items that are very much on my shopping radar. I haven’t order all of these, of course. But I’ve considered these as serious contenders. And I do have quite a few of them coming my way. Meanwhile, I’m waiting on other brands to start rolling out their spring styles this next week. You can click on any of the items below to shop them. And remember that many of these items are available in additional colorways. Enjoy!
Thanks so much for stopping in today. If you enjoyed this peek at new spring fashions, you might also enjoy this recent post or this one. Have a beautiful day!

Blessed for My Day
Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, and I think we could all use a reminder about the power of love. Don’t you? Sometimes we get a little confused about what it means to love. I know I do. The love we feel is not always in line with what the Bible, and thus God, calls true love. In fact, you and I know that when we really love…it’s sometimes quite difficult. Love requires forgiveness, patience, humility, grace and putting the other person first.
Recently I’ve been thinking a lot about the admonition in James 1:19 to “be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger.” I think real love behaves like that. Don’t you? But slowing down to get our actions in that order takes focus and discipline, not emotion. In fact, we have to let those actions trump our emotions. When we slow down long enough to really listen and we refuse to allow ourselves to get angry or rattle off our opinion, that’s love. How could you show love to someone today?
Love is patient, love is kind, it is not jealous; love does not brag, it is not arrogant. It does not act disgracefully, it does not seek its own benefit; it is not provoked, does not keep an account of a wrong suffered…~ 1 Corinthians 13:4-5
A new season is always exciting. I noticed the white jeans have an unfinished hem. Is this still trending? So many pretty colors to share with them
They’re not as prevalent as before, but still stylish. I’m trying to look for finished hemlines these days, however.
Me too. I really am tired of the unfinished hems. I think the finished hemlines look for classy.
Thanks for the early heads up on colors for Spring. I liked the belted tweed jacket from Ann Taylor. Love her clothes but not the light yellow color. Wish it came in other colors. I am more of a red, pink, blue person and I have so many blazers and jackets that it has to be Wow items for me to put into my wardrobe. I am anxious to see what it coming up in red, pink or blue for Spring. Are you going to release the Pantone colors for Spring that you usually show us? Very nice BFMD.
Excited for Spring fashion and your series to come.
