Hello friends, and welcome to Dressed for My Day. As many of you know, I recently returned home from a trip to the Florida coast. We had a full week of blissful sunshine and warmth. So we snapped photos of some great resort or getaway fashions from one of my favorite retailers. And whether you are planning a spring beach trip, some other equally exciting getaway or just some fun times at home, I think you’ll love this mix and match spring beach capsule wardrobe with J.JIll.

J.Jill is known for their relaxed, easy and inspired styles that reflect a woman’s full, rich life. They create clothing in a full range of sizes from petites to talls, misses to women’s. Their clothing is frequently made from crisp, natural linens, cool cottons, luscious Tencel and the softest knits. And I absolutely love J.Jill for accessories, including gorgeous scarves, classy belts, comfortable shoes, nature-inspired jewelry and bags perfect for getting out and about.
So as I prepared for my spring vacation on the Atlantic coast of Florida, I knew I wanted to find some pretty, new things from J.Jill to take along. With hardly any effort at all, I was able to put together the most comfortable and spirited beach capsule wardrobe with J.Jill fashions and accessories.
I built this small beach capsule wardrobe with J.Jill around these easy-breezy linen blend cropped pants. I just love the soft hues in these comfortable cropped pants. They feature an invisible side zipper closure, a flat front and an elasticized back waistband. The fun rope belt can be worn high or low, and adds a sweet nautical touch. But you could easily remove it, too. The linen blend cropped pants run true to size and are truly comfortable.
First I topped the linen blend cropped pants with my reversible lemon zest tank. I already have a white reversible tank from J.Jill and, because I wore it so often for the past two years, I decided to purchase a yellow and conch pink one for this year. I often size down to a small in J.Jill tops, but I did get the medium in this close fitting tank. And of course I love that you can wear it as a v-neck or scoopneck tank.
The reversible lemon zest tank layers easily under my blue ridge linen shirt. I have this shirt in white from a couple of years ago and wear it so frequently in the summers. It has tab sleeves so you can easily roll up the long sleeves to just below the elbow. I’m wearing a size small very comfortably, so consider sizing down. The linen shirt comes in that same lemon zest yellow and conch pink, as well as white and avocado green.
I chose to add this trailing floral striped scarf to my beach capsule wardrobe with J.Jill, intending to wear it both as an accessory and a wrap. I love wide scarves like this one that can serve multiple purposes, especially at this time of year. J.Jill has so many beautiful scarves that would work well with these pieces, so I’ve included others in the shopping widget below.
Of course, you can wear the linen shirt alone with the linen blend cropped pants, buttoned over the reversible lemon zest tank or hanging loose over the tank. And you could also wear a simple t-shirt with the linen blend cropped pants.
But I think my favorite way to wear the linen blend cropped pants is with this pretty cobalt blue textured sweater-knit sweatshirt. Also available in cameo rose pink, this sweatshirt is knit from 100% cotton yarn and has a beautiful, soft drape. You could layer the reversible lemon zest tank under it for added warmth (as I did here) or wear it by itself for a cool single layer.
I’m wearing a small in the textured sweater-knit sweatshirt and it’s ample roomy for a casual fit. I also wore this textured sweater-knit sweatshirt later in the week with simple chinos and shorts. It’s quite versatile.
Speaking of shorts, I didn’t include any in this capsule, but I actually took my J.Jill shorts (no longer available) on my trip. These soft woven shorts with an elasticized waistband would be the perfect addition to this beach trip capsule wardrobe with J.Jill. And these linen blend striped shorts would work nicely, too. And if you wanted to add a pair of jeans to the capsule wardrobe, these high-rise cuffed jeans would make a nice addition.
Of course, I finished off my beach trip capsule wardrobe with J.Jill with sandals and my packable floppy beach hat. I wear a size 9.5 in shoes and my sandals are a 9, as suggested on the website. If you wanted to add an all-purpose bag to your ensemble, I’d suggest this canvas and leather one from J.Jill.
I know I will enjoy wearing these pieces throughout the spring and summer, but they’re definitely vacation-worthy. They’re comfortable, sporty, festive and oh so pretty.
I got a promo code from J.Jill yesterday for free shipping on orders of $100 or more (through March 7, 2022). You are welcome to try it and see if it will work for you! Use code SB032202.

Blessed for My Day
Today is a new day with no mistakes in it. I remember that line (or something like it!) from Anne of Green Gables. Miss Stacy used that sweet encouragement to bolster Anne’s confidence when she bemoaned the fact that she seemed to make one mistake after another. I can relate. Can’t you?
But the hole in Miss Stacy’s encouraging sentiment is that eventually Anne – and you and I – will indeed make another mistake. It doesn’t take long for me to say the wrong thing, think too long on a sour thought, twist my lips up in some snippety attitude or simply doubt the goodness of the Lord. My days start with no mistakes, but I quickly fill them with a few. And that’s why I’m so grateful that the greater truth is that God’s mercies never end…and they are new every morning. I don’t live as one who has blown it, but one who is dancing in the grace of a good and faithful God.
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness. ~ Lamentations 2:22-23
