Blessed for My Day
The Lord has really laid on my heart recently the need to encourage women toward not living in fear. But I have to begin by encouraging my only frequently fearful heart. As I’ve been reading Scripture recently, I’ve noticed time and again that fear of anything other than the Lord God Himself leads individuals to make poor decisions that then result in harm and problems for themselves and/or others. Truly, any time we act or believe something or speak based on a fear…of any kind…we open ourselves up to problems, both immediate and future.
I encourage you to begin noticing the decisions that other people around you make out of fear. That has helped me to see the destructive nature of this emotion. But then I encourage you to go a step further and look back at the decisions you have made out of fear, whether they were hasty words or actions that sprung forth from ruminating in fear. That really helped me to see that fear has no good place in my life.
There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. ~ 1 John 4:18
