Hello and welcome to Dressed for My Day. Today I’m sharing a comfortable but classy outfit with ponte pants. Let’s face it. These are just the kind of pants that you want to be wearing on Thanksgiving day – the kind that have lots of stretch and lots of style.

Ponte Pants Outfit

Not only do I envision wearing these pants Thanksgiving, but I plan to wear them frequently. These ponte slim-leg pants from J.Jill look more structured than they really are, thanks to the faux fly, angled front pockets and slenderizing silhouette. They’re made in a lovely, smooth ponte knit fabric and have an elasticized waist band with a flat front. The ponte slim-leg pants come in seven great colors, including this dark espresso brown.

Ponte Knit Pants

Honestly, the pockets are not deep enough to hold anything, but they do add to the polish of these pull-on pants. I’m wearing them with my Paul Green Diana Kiltie Fringe Loafers, decidedly the most comfortable pair of shoes I’ve ever put on my feet.

Nordstrom has the Paul Green Diana Kiltie Fringe Loafers for 61% off right now, but they also only have them in a couple of sizes. On the other hand, they have them at Hautelook (a Nordstrom store) in more sizes, but at a higher price. If you’re interested I think I’d contact customer service and see what you can do there. These shoes are pricey, but when you can find them on sale they are so worth the splurge. So soft and light.

Cashmere Sweater

My v-neck cashmere sweater is sold out, but you’ll find cashmere by Halogen marked way down here. Or if you love the deep, dark green, I can recommend this olive green turtleneck sweater I picked up at Target recently. It’s not the same quality, obviously, but it is soft and pretty. I’m sharing it on the blog next week.

My long necklace is not available either, but you’ll find similar options in the shopping widget below. In fact, for a limited time, Kendra Scott is offering an unprecedented 30% your purchase (25% off sterling silver and fine jewelry, which hardly ever goes on sale). I love my multistrand necklace from Kendra Scott. And I recently purchased this Tegan Y Necklace. It’s so modern and versatile.

I love the way this outfit of rich brown and deep green came together. And it’s oh so comfortable to boot! Perfect for Thanksgiving day or church or any other day when you want to look pulled together but still feel comfortable all day long.

Blessed for My Day

It’s one thing to give up your life in a last ditch effort to save someone else. It’s quite another to willingly lay down your life with love and good will. Jesus did the latter.

He came to this earth to give His life for ours. He willingly walked to toward His crucifixion, carrying His own cross to die for our sins. He gave His life so that we could spend eternity in heaven with Him. Why did He do this? Because He loves you so. Jesus’ life was not taken from Him while He clung to it in desperation. He laid it down out of love. There was no other way.

“I am the good shepherd, and I know My own, and My own know Me, just as the Father knows Me and I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. And I have other sheep that are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will listen to My voice; and they will become one flock, with one shepherd. For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life so that I may take it back. No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it back. This commandment I received from My Father.” ~ John 10:14-18

Spread the love
xoxo, Kay

  1. Good morning Kay! Like you, I am going to count my many blessings and make this week one of Thanksgiving, instead of focusing on those that we can’t be with, etc. This is a very nice outfit, and as you said, the pants are perfect for a day when we know the food will be plentiful. I really like how polished the pants look while being so comfortable. Great BFMD that I needed today. No matter how other family members continue to treat me, God really loves me and that is what matters the most! Have an awesome day!

  2. My fashion choice:
I would put on my Clark’s burgundy loafers with these pants. And carry my Dooney and Bourke burgundy handbag. This goes well with brown pants and a dark green top. Black always goes well or brown shoes and bag. I still enjoy wearing the same color shoes and handbag these days!

Love your great fashion tips and have a Blessed Thanksgiving!

  3. Y is it called a Y necklace? I love it when you feature brown because that’s my favorite color. Any shade from light to dark. This looks like the perfect sweater. Soft, v neck, arms not tight like so many today. I wouldn’t wear cashmere for dinner because I’m a spiller but I would change into it after dinner. We southern people eat dinner at noon. Supper is in the evening,?

  4. Even though your sweater is sold out, would you please share where you got it? I’m always looking for sweaters that aren’t so long and boxy..and also v-neck! This one has a nice fit. ?

    1. Oh sure. I’m sorry I meant to do that. It’s a Vince sweater I picked up in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale so it’s similar to this one, which is on sale. https://shopstyle.it/l/boVxQ I also purchased this one in the sale but returned it (and I’m regretting it!) https://shopstyle.it/l/boVxZ And here’s a link to all the Vince sweaters at Nordstrom. Pricey for sure but worth it when you can find one on sale or if you can splurge on one. https://shopstyle.it/l/boVyd
