I’m wearing the Tommy Bahama Talullah silk camp shirt in blue canal. But I also have it in the equally charming paradise pink and I can tell you that it is more red than pink. Both colors are deeply pigmented and so rich. The silk fabric is soft and seasonally lightweight; truly perfect for elevating your summer looks.

But if you’d prefer not to spend the price for silk and still want to be able to elevate your summer outfits easily, I suggest checking out some of the pretty polyester button-up shirts I found from Ann Taylor, where they consistently have very polished garments and accessories. And right now you can get 40% off your purchase and another 15% off in your shopping bag. Bingo! I collected my picks in the shopping widget below.
Any of those pretty polyester blouses could be swapped in for the silk blouse I’m sharing today. Now let me show you a few of the ways you can style a pretty silk or “silky” summer blouse to elevate your summer outfits.

Silk pairs beautifully with linen. So for the first look I paired the canal blue Talullah silk camp shirt with my white linen pants from Frank & Eileen. You could wear this outfit out to lunch with friends or for a day of shopping. You’ll fell pretty and a little “extra,” but still feel cool and comfortable.

But silk always works nicely with denim, so don’t be shy about wearing an elevated blouse with this one with your jeans. I especially love the way a pop of color in luxurious silk works with white or off white jeans.

I’m wearing my silk shirt with my Madewell tile white straight crop jeans. These jeans run large; I’ve sized down to a 29, whereas I wear a 31 in most jeans these days and a 30 in most Madewell jeans. They are so comfortable and really suck you in without squeezing at all. They’re just a good thick denim, but still soft and lightweight. Kind of a unicorn of white jeans!

You can still keep your outfits simple and relaxed when you add that silk shirt. I’m wearing simple gold jewelry and comfortable but classy sandals. You’ll effortlessly elevate your outfit with this simple but classy wardrobe essential.

Of course you can also wear your silk or silky blouse with a pretty summer skirt. Skirts are really trending this year.

I’m wearing my Veronica Beard Arwen stretch-linen skirt, and it is a bit of an investment. HOWEVER, this skirt is marked down now and you can take an EXTRA 25% OFF with code FIREWORKS2024 at checkout.

By the way, the day we shot these photos I got in two new Patricia Nash bags and a pair of sunglasses, too. So I’m showing all three. Remember, you can use code KAY10 at Patricia Nash to get 10% off your order…all the time! Above you see the Valledoria Crossbody Vintage Distressed Leather. The interior is beautiful and it’s just the right size for everyday.

And here I’m wearing the Paris Satchel in Wickerback. I love that it has brass feet, those stunning leather tassels, a full zip closure and a luxurious velvet interior. My sunglasses are the Brigitte. Check out all of the beautiful Patricia Nash options here.

Will you be adding a pretty silk blouse to your summer wardrobe? Or maybe you already have one and it’s just time to incorporate it into an outfit. I’d love to hear from you today.

We can certainly encourage others with our words or even a smile. Sometimes the touch of our hand on their shoulder or arm can even spur them on. But to me the most encouraging thing another person can do for me is …go with. I love the line in the scripture below that say, “But Barnabas took hold of him and brought him.” Paul was having a tough go of things, so Barnabas took him by the arm and walked with him to the apostles, encouraging them to embrace him as he had. That’s encouragement.
Do you need to go with someone today? Maybe you could accompany someone to dialysis or a chemotherapy treatment. Maybe you could ride along with someone who is simply having a hard time of things. Or maybe it’s time to take someone by the hand and introduce her to new friends. Going with is the greatest form of encouragment.
When he came to Jerusalem, he tried repeatedly to associate with the disciples; and yet they were all afraid of him, as they did not believe that he was a disciple. But Barnabas took hold of him and brought him to the apostles and described to them how he had seen the Lord on the road, and that He had talked to him, and how he had spoken out boldly in the name of Jesus at Damascus. ~ Acts 9:26-27

I love that blouse! That shade of blue is definitely one of the colors that looks so nice on you. I also want to take the time to tell you that I enjoyed your most recent YouTube channel post. I especially enjoyed the interesting comments made by viewers that offered added suggestions for all of us.
Good message. The silk blouse is very pretty. I just can’t wear polyester in the summer anymore. Actually even in winter. To me it’s both hot and cold depending on the season. I don’t mind a blend with cotton. It amazes me how expensive polyester blouses are. I rather invest in real silk.
