I had a friend leave a package at my door. She yelled present and jumped in her car and left. When I opened it, I found a LV bag. What a sweet thing to do. She just wanted to cheer me up a little. I try to keep in touch by phone and send around eggless recipes because our stores are out of eggs and these old depression era recipes come in handy now. You do what you can. Blessed more than I deserve!

Funny this came up today! We moved into a new neighborhood late last summer (same town) with 30 houses. Up till now, we had only met 3 neighbors. Last Saturday a bad storm and tornado actually blew through our town (our neighborhood was spared but others close by had severe damage). Between the storm and the virus, I decided it was time to know our neighbors better so we can check on them and help if needed. I started a private Facebook group and contact list. My husband and I distributed fliers with our email address and how to join the Facebook group in mailboxes. I also suggested a block party when social distancing ends. Happy to say our Group has 10 members so far and others who don’t use FB have reached out via email. Everyone has been so grateful and some said they have thought of doing it but never did. It was totally out of my comfort zone but I’m glad I did and will have many new friends when we can get out and actually socialize. And now, we can contact people to offer or ask for support. And everyone is looking forward to a block party soon!
