Happy Saturday, friends. I hope you’re enjoying your weekend. Today I’m sharing an outfit, something I rarely do on Saturdays. But when Evy’s Tree reached out to me again recently, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to partner with this sweet boutique and bring you another one of their lovely styles. I think this classic but feminine summer cardigan will resonate with you.

Here in Arizona, it’s prone to be quite chilly in the mornings and evenings through the spring. So this lush 100% cotton Elizabeth cardigan is sure to become a fast favorite. It’s exactly what I’ll need to enjoy my coffee on the back porch each morning. And when I step out to enjoy the amazing sunsets we have here, I’ll bundle up in it again.

I love the generous front pockets on this sweater. It also features a feminine and gracefully gathered, gently pleated raglan sleeve. There are no buttons, so feel free to hold it close if you need to. But otherwise, the Elizabeth serves as a lush, navy framework for whatever you choose to wear under it.

I chose to wear a simple pink and white striped v-neck t-shirt for a classic spring and summer pairing with my white jeans. It is Saturday, after all!

I showed you this same t-shirt in solid red in this post, but it was a size bigger. This medium definitely fits me much better. So they run true to size. Yes, I still love my Universal Threads t-shirts from Target, but I bought a few of these in additional colors. I’m loving this pink and white.

These are the same white jeans I wore last summer, and I’m happy for them to serve me well again this year. I’m wearing the curvy fit in a size 6, which is TTS for me in white jeans.

I love this upgraded casual look with my tan leather platform wedge sandals. These shoes are amazingly comfortable for a 4 1/4 inch heel. And they’re available in other pretty colors and patterns. They’re TTS.

But I also wore my pretty pale pink leather flat sandals with this outfit. These shoes fit snug from the back strap to the toe strap, but otherwise are very comfortable. I’m assuming they’ll stretch a little with wear, too, since they are genuine leather. And the cushioned soles are so comfy.

With the tan leather wedge sandals I carried my Transport leather tote – so roomy and high quality! But when I switched to my pink sandals, I picked up my small rose studded pink camera bag. I’m really enjoying this compact but ample little bag!

I added a little shine to my Saturday get-around-town outfit with some layered gold necklaces and these pretty hammered hoop earrings, which are 20% off now.

I’m grateful to Evy’s Tree for gifting me this lovely cotton cardigan. I enjoy working with them because they are a boutique company that focuses on feminine silhouettes, comfort and quality. Amy Miraflor started the brand at her own sewing machine less than ten years ago and has turned her small business into a thriving retail shop. I hope you’ll check out their offerings. And if you click here, you’ll get 20$ off your first purchase.

Blessed for My Day

I mentioned that I like to retreat to my back porch first thing each morning and again later as the sun sets. One of the reasons I enjoy watching the sun rise and set is that the pink streaks across the sky are a stark and stunning reminder of God’s goodness. He didn’t have to bless us with such beautiful beginnings and endings to each day, did He?

Let’s make an effort to begin and end each day singing His praises. Whether we actually have a melody on our lips or just one in our hearts, let’s take the time to say thank you…for sunrises, sunsets and all the blessings in between.

From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised! ~ Psalm 113:3

Spread the love
xoxo, Kay

  1. This is such a pretty outfit, Kay! I too love watching the occasional sunrises that I see, and definitely the sunsets. The other night I was really missing our sweet Java so I was walking around the house taking pictures of the sunset, crying, and talking to Java and God. When I turned around, I saw part of a rainbow in the distance. As I took a few pictures, I thanked God for His sign that Java is whole again and he knows how much we loved him. God bless!

  2. Have just recently found your blog and enjoying it so much! Thank you for the comments and Scripture in “Blessed for my Day” section. It is so good to find a blogger with good fashion ideas that we can enjoy but to always to remember God in all our blessings.

  3. I enjoy sunsets but a sunrise is my favourite. I love the beauty and the promise of a new day. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and outfits with us, Kay.

  4. I m so happy to have found your blog Kay! You are just what I’ve been searching for! I appreciate all of your posts that teach me something – whether it be fashion strategy or skin care. And I love your Blessed for My Day insights. Like you I am (almost) 55, have kids in their 20’s (my son is also a software engineer:) I’m drawn to you because unlike other bloggers, you embrace this stage in life and make the most of it. I feel like I can follow your guidance without paying for surgery or high end clothing. Thank you for teaching me so much! I feel like I’ve made a new friend!!

    1. Ahh, that’s so nice Robin. Thank you for all that! I’m glad you found your way here, too. It means a lot to me that you enjoy the blog and that my style and philosophies resonate with you. It’s been a little difficult to draw the line and proclaim that i really am a 50+ blogger. But that’s just who I am! And there’s no point in trying to be younger or to appeal to a younger crowd. I mean I absolutely love for younger women to join me here, too. But I can’t pretend to be one of them! Thanks so much for reading and leaving a sweet comment. Made my day!
