But Frye makes a lovely slip-on sneaker in suede and leather which works as a casual substitute, because the collar is padded around the ankle which helps keep in place. I also love my low slip-on mules from Talbots with the chain detail to give a loafer vibe, but a bit dressier. The olive green suede is perfect for fall and pops nicely with any neutral base. I’m not ready to give up on my Blondo black suede wedge sneakers! They’re comfy and waterproof and garner many compliments.
