Hello and happy weekend! Today I thought we’d combine two of my favorite fall trends. While neither colored jeans or leopard print are new trends, they are weighing in heavily in this season’s fashion landscape. And I can’t get enough of either. So let’s look at how I combined colored jeans and leopard print for an outfit you might wear to work or for a weekend outing.

Colored Jeans and Leopard Print Blouse

I’m wearing the Ann Taylor Modern Skinny Jeans in wild moss. I have the curvy fit, but they come in the regular fit as well. I’m wearing my usual size 6, and I’d say they fit true to size. They’re a really nice dark green, and they also come in a pretty vino (burgundy). Right now Ann Taylor is offering 40% off your purchase with the code FRIENDS40

If you’re more of a Talbots shopper, you might prefer these jeggings. They’re the ones I ended up keeping. They come in bay leaf (green) or Merlot (deep wine), but they only have their curvy fit available in the bay leaf. Talbots has these jeans, along with selected other fall merchandise, marked down 25% for a limited time promotion.

My sheer leopard print blouse is an old purchase from Talbots. I bet I’ve had that shirt at least 6 years. That confirms that leopard print is not a new trend, but an enduring one. It has its own lining and features a same fabric tie at the v-neck collar. I featured this same blouse in this blog post back in the spring, so you can see why this piece stays in my closet all year long.

When I was looking for similar blouses available now, I found this beautiful Vince Camuto sleeveless blouse at Nordstrom Rack, but it’s only available in petite sizes. I also found this silky soft long sleeve blouse at Chico’s and they also have this leopard print tank. I’ve included these and more in the widget at the bottom of the post. You should be able to duplicate this colored jeans and leopard print fall look with any of them.

My cardigan is the ribbed shawl cocoon sweater by Leith, and it’s available at Nordstrom. It also comes in a brown spice, a dark grey, a soft pink and a pale teal blue, but I am wearing the tan etherea heather. This cardigan runs quite large. For some reason I ordered the medium, and I definitely should have gotten either the small or even the x-small. Size down!

This cardigan is luxuriously comfortable. I’m surprised they have so many sizes available in all of these colors, but maybe they have recently restocked. This cascading cardigan is a great basic for your fall wardrobe. I know I’ll get lots of wear out of it. I can even see me throwing it on over athleisure wear or dressy slacks.

Remember, your shoes and handbag don’t have to match. And mine certainly don’t! But they’re in the same color family. I’m carrying my large cognac Fossil satchel (similar – I love the taupe…and it’s marked down considerably) and wearing my microsuede mules from Target.

Don’t you agree that colored jeans and leopard print pair together nicely for a basic but beautiful fall look? Especially when you add the texture of a fall cardigan.

Blessed for My Day

Lord, today we pray for those who are in the path of danger. For those who are weathering the storm on the east coast, we ask for safety and deliverance. We pray for you to give them hope and peace and courage and strength. For those who will suffer the consequences of this storm, we pray for Your provision and presence, your perspective and peace. And for those who are bravely working to service those communities facing the storm, we pray for extra protection, courage, strength and mercy. We know that You are the God of the storms. Your voice can still calm the wind and the waves. But even when you require that we ride out the storms rather than escape them, You are good and gracious and enough. Prevail, oh Sovereign Lord, and help us to trust You wholly.

And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. ~ Mark 4:39

Spread the love

  1. Beautiful combination Kay!!! You really look great. Animal print has always been a favorite for me especially in the Autumn season. I am also praying for those who may be in the path of the hurricane as well as anyone that is helping and volunteering. ~Lisa~

  2. Love love love this outfit!! I tried numerous times to order the cardigan during the sale. I love the combination of leopard, olive and cream! So pretty!
