Coffee Time with Kay

June 29, 2019

Happy weekend, gals! Pour yourself something good to drink and sit with me for a minute or more. We just don’t do nearly enough of that! And today I’ve got BIG news…

Coffee Time with Kay Graphic

I have been really struggling with keeping a secret from you gals. You may not believe this, but I really consider you friends. And since I try to be authentic and open on this website, it’s been extremely difficult to write my blog posts, send my subscriber emails and participate in the Dressed for My Day Challenge without spilling the beans.

But not only have I had to keep my lips sealed with you gals, I’ve been keeping something from close friends and my church family, too. And it’s been excruciating!

But now that James has talked personally with someone from each and every family in our church this past week, I can tell you that…

We're moving!!!

James has been called to serve as the Senior Pastor at a wonderful, healthy, thriving church in Cincinnati, Ohio!! What?!?! How did that happen?!?!

I never in a million years would have guessed that we would move to Cincinnati, Ohio. Y’all. I’ve never lived north of Atlanta, Georgia! I know, I know. The winter is going to be a shock to my system. And it’s going to be long. I hear ya!

But James and I are very excited about this move. We will be much closer to much of our family. And, for at least the next year, we’ll only be about an hour and a half from our son and his fiance. Shoot! We’ll just drive a little ways down the road to his wedding in October instead of flying across the country!

Plus, in our three short visits to Cincinnati over the past few months – oh, that’s what she’s been doing!!! – we’ve fallen in love with the church, the people and the area. Cincinnati is gorgeous, y’all! We are really looking forward to moving to our new home!

So of course, this explains why I’ve been cleaning out drawers and cabinets and closets when the rest of y’all have been wondering why I didn’t finish my spring cleaning in March. Ha! I’ve been busy throwing away items and donating them to local charities, and I still have so much to do.

It’s a busy time, and it’s also a sad time. We’re saying goodbye to some of the most beautiful people we’ve ever known. We love our church family dearly. They loved us when we felt like rejects, held us close when others scorned us and called us “pastor” and “pastor’s wife” when we wondered if God still had a mission for us. If we could take each and every one of them with us to Cincinnati, we would. But, *sigh* they won’t go.

And while we’re mourning our departure from the loveliest church we’ve ever served, we are SO VERY EXCITED about the church God has called us to. James is following a pastor who served this church for 26 years. And they loved him well. Before that, another pastor served this church for 26 years. And they loved him well.

Trust me, we scrutinized this church carefully. Our radar was functioning at high alert and we would have walked out the door gladly if we’d sensed one iota of dysfunction. But, while no church is perfect, we’re convinced that this one is at least healthy…and loving…and biblical. And that’s all we’re looking for.

A Word about the DFMD Challenge

So, I won’t keep you here much longer. But I do want you gals to know that this little “secret” largely accounts for why I didn’t participate more than I did in the Dressed for My Day Challenge, other than moderating it. You gals in the Facebook group have absolutely overwhelmed me with the community you have built. And I’m so sorry that I haven’t been able to participate more. But without the ability to be transparent, it was just hard. I hope you understand.

BUT, because the DFMD Challenge Facebook Group has thrived like it has, I’ve decided to keep it going. You gals asked, and I’m saying, “Yes!” We’ll actually keep the name just as it is, but we’ll change up the format a bit.

Bottom line, I can’t keep a daily challenge going year round and write blog posts and do all the other parts of my job.

So, I’ll simply issue a weekly challenge in the Facebook Group. Hopefully these weekly challenges will continue to stretch you and inspire you…and help you get Dressed for Your Day! You’ll also be able to ask me and each other questions about trends, outfits, shopping, etc.

If you’re not part of the Dressed for My Day Challenge Facebook group, you can still join. I do scrutinize applications because we don’t want any creepers to get in. Oh, yes. They’ve tried! So you must answer the two questions you’ll see when you try to join. Also, you must have a personal photo on your account. I hope you understand.

What do you think?

So tell me, what do you think about my big news? Do you have pointers for this Georgia peach who’s been living in the desert and is about to move to the North??? Hey, enjoy these last few weeks of photos with cactus and desert blooms because my backgrounds will be changing drastically. Hahahah!

Anyhow, I’d love to hear from you today. Thank you sweet gals for putting up with my lack of transparency for a while. Everything is in the open now. I’m an open book! Bless you all!

Blessed for My Day

A year ago James and I would not have been able to make this move. We were oh so wounded. Honestly, we felt broken, discarded and devastated. But, thanks to the healing work of Jesus Christ, we are healthy and whole today. Well, we’re still healing, honestly. But we are healthy.

That health is also largely due to the blessing we have received by being a part of our current church. Indeed, “how good and pleasant it is when brothers {and sisters} dwell in unity!” This unity in Christ is not just a sweet thing; it is a healing thing. Christian unity does a supernatural work in the souls of those who experience it. Those who are wounded, those who feel rejected, those who are lost and those who are in bondage…we all are more able to experience the amazing grace of God within a healthy community of believers who are living in harmony with one another.

God bless my church. I love them so.

Behold, how good and pleasant it is
    when brothers dwell in unity!
It is like the precious oil on the head,
    running down on the beard,
on the beard of Aaron,
running down on the collar of his robes!
It is like the dew of Hermon,
which falls on the mountains of Zion!
For there the Lord has commanded the blessing,
    life forevermore. ~ Psalm 133

Spread the love
xoxo, Kay

  1. Congratulations, Kay! That is such exciting news and I pray that all goes well with your move. I do not live in Cincinnati (I live in Canada.) so I cannot help you out with what to expect when fall and winter come. But, I’m guessing that you will have more distinct seasons and that the beauty of each season, especially fall, will amaze you. My only suggestion is to take full advantage of the Nordstrom sale and buy lots of warm sweaters and a thick winter coat. I look forward to reading about your move and your experience of living in the “north.” God bless you.

    1. Congratulations to you and James on your upcoming move! We are from Ohio, and just recently moved to Tucson. I think you’ll enjoy Cincinnati – lots to do, and centrally located to travel to so many other places. Yes, the winters will be colder for you (and GRAY!), but that’s just another reason to shop for those beautiful sweaters and layering pieces that will keep you warm. Best wishes for your new adventure!

      1. Thanks Lynda. I guess we’re just trading spaces! I am honestly looking forward to some rain and gray days. ? And we’re certainly looking forward to having so many destinations nearby…places we’ve never been!

  2. Congratulations on your upcoming move! I’m so happy for you. That is a beautiful area indeed. I think you’re going to be fine and the weather transition won’t be as bad as you think.
Glad you’re keeping the challenge group open, that has been a lot of fun for me.

  3. Kay such exciting news. I pray for the Lords guidance during your transition. I’m from the Hamilton/Cincinnati area. Can you tell me where your husband will be pastoring? I currently live in Kentucky but have lots of family in that area.
    Blessings to you.

  4. Congratulations! Change can be exciting and frightening at the same time! Looking forward to new adventures with you. Thanks for sharing your life and being such an inspiration. Prayers for a smooth transition!

  5. Congratulation!! I am thrilled for you and James. I want to say this ‘one’ thing first…..sometimes…what may ‘seem’ like the worst thing in the world that could happen to us can turn into the biggest blessing The Lord can give us! I know you all were terribly hurt from your last move, but honestly…as you know…..we must never ‘box in’ what God can and does do for us when we follow His Word and walk with Him. We’ll be here with you as well, all through the moving process. Don’t put any pressure on yourself…we’ll still be here AFTER the move! Love you and keeping you both in my prayers!

  6. Welcome to Ohio? I’m from the Dayton area. I think you will love the change in each season and the opportunity to incorporate fashion into the different seasons.

  7. Kay, so happy you and your husband have been directed on this path! Yes, the climate change will be a shock but the beauty of the changing seasons is worth it. Blessings to you.

    1. Yes, we are really looking forward to getting to enjoy the four seasons. We’re savoring our final days in Arizona, but I know living in that part of the country will have many benefits. Thanks.

  8. How exciting for you and your husband! After a hard season, the blessings are so much sweeter❤️❤️! My daughter has lived in Lexington, KY, which isn’t very far from Cincinnati, and it’s gorgeous there! I think you will love it!

  9. Welcome to Ohio! I’m from Bowling Green, Ohio and have lived in Ohio all my life. Yes, winters can be long, but the change of seasons is a beautiful thing! I pray the Lord will guide you during this exciting time!

  10. Welcome to Ohio. I live about 2 hours northeast of Cincinnati. Our winters are not very harsh anymore, so you will need winter clothes, but not for sub zero weather. Our pastor’s wife is from Atlanta and she has adjusted very well and I know you will as well. When you are doing God’s will, He helps you adjust! I enjoy your blog so much especially the encouraging and inspirational messages at the end. Happy relocating!

  11. You will love Cincinnati! It is a town full of wonderful little communities with such personality. I am a Kentucky girl now living in Texas. You are going to find that Cincinnati has some Southern flavor and the seasons are wonderful. Living close to family is always a good thing. Blessings to you as you go!

    1. Thanks Peggy. Yes, we’ve heard a lot about the southern influence in Cincinnati and have even experienced it. It will definitely be nice to be closer to my family.

      1. Kay, this is so exciting! I live only an hour and a half from Cincinnati. We will have to meet for lunch! The shopping is good there ?, though I don’t head that way much to shop. Now, I have a great excuse to go. Congratulations and many blessings!

  12. What exciting news for you and James! The change in seasons that you will experience in Cincinnati will provide opportunity for more clothes to style. What a fortunate church to be receiving you both! I’m a relatively new reader so I’m wondering what is your denomination?

  13. Congratulations!!!!!Can’t give you any tips about living North. I’m Georgia gal myself, who lives on the Gulf coast now! Asking God to give you wisdom and PEACE during your transition ?

  14. May God’s blessings and love continue to guide you in this exciting new chapter! Very happy for you and James!

  15. Congratulations!!! Best of Luck. I live about 3 hours from Cincinnati and have visited there many times. There are many things to do there and the shopping is great!! I think you will love it!! I pray for many wonderful things for you and your husband in your new church.

  16. That’s so exciting!!! We left Arizona in 2009 and I thought I’d die. God has taken us on great adventures and we just moved to Portugal !! But, our son will he going to Cedarville university in August….just an hour from Cincy! All God’s blessings for you and your husband!

  17. Congratulations to you both on what I know is an answer to much prayer. How wonderful to feel God’s hand leading you in this new endeavor. The added blessing of being closer to family is something I know you’re grateful for. Praying for His continued guidance as you make this transition. Think I’ll join your FB group. I wasn’t up to the everyday challenge but sounds like a fun group I could connect with.

  18. Hello Kay! I am a pastor’s wife too who just made a big move/change in ministry. We moved from a small church in Missouri to one twice as large in Alabama, our home state. I can relate to so much of what you are going through. God has been so faithful during our transition and I know He will be doing the same for you.

  19. Good Morning Kay…..(Holly from Scottsdale here)!
I lived in Cincinnati for my first 28 years before moving to Florida (now many years ago) and the change of seasons can be beautiful. Which church/area will you be located? Enjoy your blog and blessings as you move.
Oh….was just in Cincy for Father’s Day !

  20. Wow – so exciting!! Congratulations. I have always lived in the south so I have no northern advice but I’m sure it will be an adventure. Good luck with the move.

  21. What exciting news!! I am so happy for you and the new adventure that God is setting before you! I lived in Michigan and I think you will love the 4 seasons you are about to experience!! I found fall to be my favorite time of year, but I also came to love the snow and what winter can bring! Such crisp, white beauty, that makes everything new again!! Prayers of blessings to you as you go through this transition and say so long to so many precious friends!! May God bless you and James abundantly!!!?

  22. Kay, welcome to Ohio! I live 1 1/2 hours north of Cincinnati. There is lots to do there and now you can become a Cincinnati Reds fan. The winters can be challenging, but it’s much better the further south you are in Ohio. Blessings to you and your husband in your new church!

  23. Congratulations! I live in Lexington, Ky – just about an hour away. I do have a son in Cincinnati and he loves it. You may become a fan all lots of fall clothing as that season last quite awhile around these parts. Winter is mainly it’s worst in January and February and likes to pop in and remind us for a week in March – LOL. So glad your close by, I started following you about 6 months ago and found your style much along the lines of myself as well as age. Keep us posted and if you ever want to host a followers get together in Cincy or Lexington (or both – haha) I’d be glad to help! It’s going to be fun seeing the change from your perspective OH from AZ is quite a jump. (PS – my husband is a former full time minister, God led us through some twist and turns so he has a full time vocation, but writes and podcast with his brother.)

    1. Thanks for sharing all that!! Yes, I am actually dreaming of reader meet-ups sometime. I have a feeling a lot of my readers live in that area. Thank you for sharing. ?

  24. How exciting for both of you! So thankful that your current church loved and healed and allowed you to rest and rejuvenate so well. Leading God’s people is a unique Cali g and thank you both for being faithful to Him! I really enjoy your blog and how you allow Jesus to shine through it. Thank you for being You! I think you’ll transition to Ohio weather quite well with your classic and timeless style.

    1. Thanks so much for your kind words Julie. Yes we are very grateful for the healing we’ve experienced and the church family we leave behind. God has worked beautifully.

  25. Congratulations on accepting your next adventurous journey. Being in the same time zone as your loved ones is such a treat. The Cincinnati area is beautiful and has so much to offer! How exciting for you also to step Into and showcase a wardrobe for all seasons. Peace be with you both as you transition towards your new surroundings and responsibilities. And, thank you for sharing this journey through Dressed for My Day.

    1. Thanks Chyra. You have no idea how much that time zone thing means to me!! Plus, I’ve just always preferred the Eastern time zone…I guess because that’s where I grew up. Thanks so much. ?

      1. I can relate. My husband and I grew up and still have all our family in EST. We moved to California when I was pregnant with our first child. Before FaceTime and social media, so it was even more isolating than just physical distance. Now, living in MI, even with our closest relatives 300 miles away, it’s only a day’s drive in the same time zone. And, at the moment all three grown children are also living in various spots in MI. So Blessed.

  26. Excited for you as The Lord has opened a new door in which to serve Him. Prayers for you as you make this transition. Look forward to hearing how God works in this new opportunity of ministry! Blessings!

  27. I might be excited about your move for all the wrong reasons! Of course I am glad you are happy and finding a new church family but what really excites me is that you are further north with a real winter. Your seasons will more closely match mine! I wish you all the best on the cross country move. We are also moving so I too am cleaning out closets etc, who wants to pay movers to move stuff we don’t use, love or need!

    1. Exactly!! Thanks so much Catherine. Actually I’m looking forward to our move for the same reason. I want to show clothing that works for more of my readers too. Of course that’s not the only thing I’m looking forward to but it’s definitely on the list!!

  28. Congratulations, Kay! That’s exciting news. Change can be hard, but it’s also good. I, too, am a pastor’s wife and have made several major moves in our career. Each move has put me in a position of learning to trust God in new ways. I’ve loved meeting new people, experiencing new things, broadening my perspective and being exposed to history and culture that I wouldn’t have otherwise done. At one point in our ministry we moved from northern California to Chicago…a similar climate change to your move. Study how people dress. It took awhile to learn that I needed to wear long sleeves in winter! Yes, you’ll need a wide variety of coats and your blood will thicken in a year or two! I’ll look forward to your posts come fall and winter. And speaking of seasons, as others have mentioned, I thoroughly enjoyed experiencing and celebrating the change in seasons while we lived in the midwest. The years we lived in Chicago were the years we raised our family. I’m so grateful for the good education, family values and down to earth people we encountered during those years. We now live in the Seattle area and we’ve been here longer than any other place we’ve lived. I wouldn’t mind another adventure!

    1. Oh that all sounds so wonderful and encouraging. Thanks so much Wendy for sharing. Yes, I’m very excited for a new adventure!

  29. Exciting news, Kay! You never know where the Lord is going to lead, do you? I just returned to Michigan after living for 13 years in SW Florida, so the climate change was a huge adjustment for me. But I knew that was where God wanted me, near my family and to be able to help my mom. So here I am and life is good. 🙂

    1. Yes, I have no doubt God will help us even with the little things as we make this transition. Thanks so much for your encouragement.

  30. Wow Isnt Just like God to give you something wonderful when you least expect it. I will be praying for you and James in the months to come. im sure your son is excited to have you so close and daughter thrilled to have not have to travel across the country.

    1. Yes, I think our children are both very happy for our move. Daniel seems to want to stay in Columbus, so I’m really hoping he and Stephanie will end up doing so. But even if they move after her residency, we will cherish this year we have near them. And it will be so good to be nearer to my daughter and my parents and brother as well.

  31. I’m sure this was a big decision for you both so wishing you all the best as you make the move to OH. I hope it won’t take too long to transition to the different seasons as it will be a big change where you are use to warmer in the winter. But…it will be fun to style the colder weather clothes I think. You will have a new challenge putting things together ! Glad you will be closer to one of your kids…that’s always a plus in my book.

    1. Hi Sandi! yes, it will be so wonderful to be near our son and his fiance. And we’ll be reasonably close to other family and friends as well. It was indeed a big decision. This whole process has been amazing and God’s fingerprints are all over it, but it’s also been emotional and stressful in some ways. I’m grateful that it’s all done and out in the open now. And we’re excited to get going!

  32. I am so happy for you and James! Such a blessing after a difficult season. I have lived in 5 different states and find it so fun to embrace the difference in each one. I know you will do the same! Change is a bit scary but so exciting as well. It will be fun to see photos of your new surroundings! Such a blessing to be closer to family!

    1. Thanks so much Susan. Change can be scary and hard indeed. But we are facing it with good attitudes. We are excited for a new lifestyle. But I will admit that all of this has been a little harder at my age. Still, I’m thankful that we’re not involving children this time. Moving them was so hard!

  33. Hi Kay,
Oh my gosh….I just started following you about 3 months ago, and now, we will practically be neighbors!!! We live on the West side of Mt. Carmel, and my sister and her family actually live there, probably very close to your new church.

I am so happy for you and James. Cincinnati is such a nice place to live. the seasons are great, and the communities are very caring and close knit. Sort of like Mayberry. Change can be hard, but if the Lord is leading you, He will get you through. I will put you and James on my prayer list for a smooth transition.

I have a feeling I’ll hopefully be meeting you some day. I may show up at your church some Sunday.

God is good. Can’t wait to hear more from you as your adventure begins.
    Blessings, Susan

    1. Wow! That is so great to hear. We have heard nothing but good stuff about Cincinnati. And we’ve been there three times now and have loved everything about it. I know it won’t be perfect, but we are ready for and embracing the changes. Thank you so much for adding us to your prayer list. That means the world to me! Blessings to you! ~ And yes, please say hello to me if you ever pop in at Mt. Carmel. That would be wonderful!

  34. Kay! Congratulations on this exciting news. You will be dearly missed in AZ, that’s for sure. Thank you for pouring your heart out into our women’s group and leading such wonderful retreats the past couple years. Ohio is blessed to have you guys. May God be with you and bless you each step of the way. With Love and Thanks, Andrea

    1. Thank you so much Andrea. It has been a pleasure serving your ladies. I will miss that opportunity. Thank you so much for your well wishes. Blessings to you and those precious ladies!

  35. So so so so excited for you guys. Going to miss you dearly but couldn’t be more thrilled for you and this season of joy that you get to walk into!

    1. Thanks so much Hannah. I will miss you sorely, too!! Oh my, don’t even get me started!! We must get together before I leave. 🙂

  36. I am so happy for you and James. Ohio is a beautiful place and the people there are very friendly and will reach out to you both and make you feel right at home. The climate will be quite different from AZ. (I know this because I live in AZ now, but was born and raised in northeast Ohio). Living is southern Ohio wont be nearly as cold as where I grew up, but you will have to get used to the dreary winter days.( many days with no sun). The change of seasons is beautiful, and fall was my favorite time of year. I wish you all the best on your journey, and I know that God has planted you there for a reason.

    1. Thanks, Linda. We are very excited about this move…for so many reasons. I’m really looking forward to some gray days, quite honestly. I’m the kind of girl who kinda needs one of those occasionally, you know? And we just don’t have hardly any here. Thank you again for your well wishes. We feel so blessed!

  37. Congratulations Kay! I live in Cincinnati! I know you love to hike and there’s a Cinti Hiking Club. Our winters are not bad, I don’t think my husband shoveled once last year. We had a few light dustings. It’s a great place to live. There’s lot to see and do, welcome!!

      1. I mentioned your move and the church to my friend who is familiar with a lot of the churches in Cincinnati and she had only good things to say about Mt Carmel Baptist Church.

  38. Kay, I am so excited for you and James because you are going where God wants y’all to be. While I do t know about the hurt y’all have recently experienced, I do know that both of you trust the Lord, and know that He knows what He is doing. As a GA native that has only lived in this state, I cannot offer you any advice in that regard. You’ve experienced 4 seasons before, so I suspect you will welcome that aspect. And being closer to some of your extended family will be awesome, especially during the holidays. When will you actually be moving to OH? Oh, I am happy that you are going to keep the Facebook group going! And I really like the idea of a weekly challenge! ? Having the FB group will continue to allow your followers to encourage one another, not only in fashion, but in our daily lives. God bless!

    1. Great to hear! I think the group is wonderful. And I’ve already let lots of new ladies into it today!! We’ll be moving sometime towards the end of the month.

  39. Congratulations and welcome to Ohio! I live just north of Cincinnati in a southern suburb of Dayton. Cincinnati is a nice city with lots of fun things to do. Best of luck with the move and I look forward to seeing your winter fashion posts!

  40. Welcome to The Queen City! Hopefully you will love Cincinnati. Kenwood is such a great location. The weather here is very mild compared to other parts of the Midwest. The Fall is beautiful with the changing leaves in the valley. The winters are very mild with a few snowfalls but not many. Spring is pretty but very wet!

We have lots of quaint neighborhoods like Hyde Park, Mt Adams, Mt Lookout. We also have an abundance of breweries too. You can experience Skyline Chili and Graeters Ice Cream.

Blessings to you on your move. I live in Loveland! I moved here with my husband 15 yrs ago.

Love following your blog and look forward to your emails! It brightens my day when I see your personal greeting. I am glad you will be a part of this community. Welcome!

    1. hi Jennifer! So nice to hear from someone who lives there. Yes, the search committee has treated us to both Skyline Chili and Graeters Ice Cream. In fact, they sent us cartons of Graeters all the way to Arizona! We were sold! I think several people in our church actually live in Loveland. Small world. We are really looking forward to experiencing life in Cincinnati. Thanks for the hearty welcome!

  41. Such exciting news Kay! I’ve always said, wherever God leads is the very safest place we can be! God no doubt has great blessings in store for James and you and your soon-to-be new church family! I’ll be praying for a smooth transition for you as well as your beloved little AZ church family. My daddy was a Southern Baptist Minister so some how I feel even a little more connected with you! Being a preacher’s kid, didn’t always appreciate my parents roles in ministry growing up until I became older and more mature. Now I feel very grateful for the Christian heritage and legacy they taught and instilled in me! Keep looking up! ??❤️??

    1. Ahh, thanks for sharing about your heritage. So precious. I’m very aware that my children’s experience in the pastor’s home is even different from mine. Thanks for offering to pray for us. That means so much to me.

  42. Change is both exciting and hard. I’m looking forward to seeing how you style fall and winter fashions! I’m a subscriber, but I can’t find my password to download your updated “essentials” list. Where should I look?

  43. Kay, how exciting is this news! I will be praying for you and your husband as you begin this new season of ministry. God is so good and His plan is perfect! So thankful you had a special season of healing before moving on to this new position. We live one state over, in Indiana, and I think you will enjoy the different climate; Spring is always a warm welcome after Winter and Autumn ? is always so beautiful with the leaves changing color. Love and blessings to you and your husband! To God Be The Glory!

  44. Wow! That is exciting news! I wish you & James all the best on your upcoming move! I’ll pray for a smooth transition to your new life in Ohio ??

  45. Gosh, you’ve received so many well-wishes! I wrote in once before, telling you I had moved from Tucson to Ohio. But now I must add that originally we had moved from Cincinnati to Tucson. I lived about 2 miles north of your new church home. What a beautiful area, Kay, really. You’ll love it! I go to Cincinnati at least twice a month to babysit my grandchildren. I’ll be sure to attend your church one day. I look forward to hopefully meeting you.
May God bless you both as you begin your journey to Cincinnati.

  46. So happy for you and your new beginning! I have lived in southeast Ohio most of my life, and we make it over to Cincinnati occasionally. It is a beautiful city and the Kenwood area is fantastic! I really enjoy the seasons here, and as others have mentioned Graters Ice Cream is amazing and no one makes Chili quite like that part of the world! I’ll add a personal Cincinnati area favorite – La Rosa’s Pizza. If anyone in your family enjoys amusement parks – Kings Island is a lot of fun. And some of the best hiking in Ohio is just a few hours drive to Hocking Hills State Park. You’ll have to check it out. Welcome to OHIO!!!

  47. Congratulations Kay!!!! So exciting and stressful at the same time. I am praying for you and James to have a smooth and successful move. I apologize for replying so late as we are in NY to see my husband’s family. I haven’t had a chance to read my emails as often. I really look forward to hearing more about your new home. ~Lisa~

    1. Thanks Lisa. There is so much to do and it feels a little harder now than when I did it all 14 years ago. Ha! Thanks so much for sharing.

  48. I just returned from a visit to Cincinnati!. The area is lovely with so many nice extras like the Creation Museum, the Ark Encounter, and the restaurant “Taste of Belgium” down on the river front. I wish you well and can’t wait for some fashions that fit my mid western lifestyle.

    1. Yes!! I’m really anxious to share more fashions for the four seasons. And we’re so ready to explore the area, too. Thanks for sharing! ?

  49. Congratulations on the new opportunity! It is all God’s plan and I will say a prayer for you. I’m from Columbus, have lived in North Carolina for the past 4 years, and now am preparing for a move to Florida! I personally hate winter and the cold weather, so I don’t have any encouraging words about the seasons, lol. Get an Eddie Bauer parka, some warm gloves, hats, and scarves, and you will survive ?. I’m sure you will embrace it, and find some fun winter activities.

    1. Thanks Beth. It’s true that I have never really lived through a real winter so that will be different and perhaps challenging. But we are looking forward to it. Thanks so much for sharing! ?

  50. Congratulations on your upcoming adventure, Kay. I’m sure this is a very exciting time for you and your family. And as much as I’ve always enjoyed your stories and pictures of Arizona, I’m also looking forward to seeing how your fashion focus changes somewhat as you move to a new place with more seasonal variety, which will more closely match the environment I live in here in the Alps. Best of luck to you and your husband as you make this move to a new home.

    1. Thanks so much Alison. I did chuckle at your correlation between living in Ohio and living in the Alps. Hahaha! No, I know what you mean. And I’m looking forward to having more to offer my readers who have four seasons. But the mention of living in the Alps in comparison to Cincinnati, Ohio just made me grin. ?
