It may feel like I’m jumping the gun, but New Year’s Eve has a way of sneaking up on me, and this year I’m determined to think ahead. For instance, I’ve already bought my frozen black-eyed peas and pork chops for New Year’s Day. Ha! Now, I just need some greens! But instead of talking about what we’ll eat on New Year’s Day, let’s take a look at this casual but festive look for New Year’s Eve. Yep, the last day of 2018 will be here before we know it!

This sweater is soooo pretty! My husband is doing such a great job with my photos these days, but I’m not sure any picture could do this sparkly, feminine sweater justice. Also, today this sweater is still 40% off with code 45905.

While James and I don’t always get out on New Year’s Eve, when we do it’s to celebrate in a casual and relaxed atmosphere. We might play board games with some friends or just go out to dinner. So this is definitely the kind of outfit I’ll go for if we do step out.

Because the sweater is so elegant and eye-catching on it’s own – even though it is a soft, neutral shade – I decided to keep the rest of the color palette neutral, too. And I chose not to wear a necklace because there’s already so much “jewelry” in the sweater. Instead I just added pearl drop earrings and a faux pearl bracelet from my jewelry box.

These boot cut jeans are a little longer than the ones I featured in this post, thankfully. And they feel good on, too.  I’m wearing the regular 6, but I think I would like to try the long. Unfortunately, they are sold out in this shade of the long in my size. The jeans are also 40% off with code 45905.

I wanted you to see the rear view of the jeans, but also notice the cut-out at the top of sweater. Just another sweet, feminine touch.

My shoes are old, but I paired them with my Michael Kors large scalloped Benning satchel. That particular bag is no longer available, but this un-scalloped version is. I do love my Michael Kors satchel – one of the best investments of the 2018!

The sweater comes with an attached liner, and it fits nice and loose. Really, this is a very comfortable and easy to wear sweater.

Not only is this casual but festive look appropriate for a relaxed celebration of the New Year, but it would work equally well for Valentine’s Day or another celebration such as a birthday or anniversary (both of which are in the winter for me!).

Thank you so much for spending some of your time here today. I’m so glad you dropped in to check out this casual but festive look for New Year’s Eve. What are you doing this New Year’s Eve? Or do you even know yet?

Speaking of New Year’s Eve, it’s time to start thinking about New Year’s resolutions…if you do that sort of thing. I’ve only made a few New Year’s resolutions that I’ve actually kept (more about that next week!) and one of those was my commitment to get in shape with the FASTer Way to Fat Loss. If you’re planning to get in shape, lose a little weight or try to eat healthier in 2019, I’d love to share more with you about the FASTer Way to Fat Loss. Blessed for My Day

We don’t have to wait for a new year to turn over a new leaf. With the Lord, every day is an opportunity for a fresh start. What kind of second chance or fresh start are you needing? Maybe you need another crack at a good habit you’ve yet to establish. Or maybe you need to start over in a relationship. And maybe, like me, you have several areas of life where you just can’t seem to get on the right path.

Let’s take a moment today to lay before the Lord our “best laid plans.” Let’s ask for His direction, His strength and His encouragement. And let’s trust that He is patient enough to see us through…one day at a time.

The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. ~ Lamentations 3:22-23

  1. Those jeans look fabulous on you! Love this look (unfortunately our New Year’s Eve plans are always an indoor/outdoor party with neighbors so I have to bundle up (that’s the unfortunate part since the party is always fantastic.)

    1. Thanks, Rory. No, I haven’t worn cowboy boots in years. I don’t have any right now. But I used to wear them a good bit when I lived in Texas. Yeehaw! Seriously, they would definitely be fun with these jeans. Thanks for reading and commenting!
