I agree with all of your tips. I love shopping with my mom and sister, and a few friends who are honest and helpful. Shopping by myself is nice too but that’s when I most tend to make unwise buys!
It’s pretty basic, but one strategy I like to use is having multiple hanger holders/stacks in the fitting room for “like it”, “love it”, and “no thanks”. It makes me feel like I”m making progress through the giant stack!
